*Official 1st Day Draft Thread -Round 1 - Round 3* (1 Viewer)

The WR's are so deep, I think trading down would be the most sensible thing for the Niners at this point.Berman just mentioned Drunckenmiller. :yucky:

Third year in a ropw the Jets raid UM's players in the first round.Shocked Vilma went before Wilfork - or that no DT has been selected yet. Speedy DTs usually are scooped up pretty fast.Buffalo will take one right here, though.

P.S. - once again, I have lost any modicum of respect I had left for Chuck D - and that mention of Drunkenmiller was the first "uninteresting" thing that has occurred regarding this draft in the last two months.

Buffalo Bills select Kevin Jones, RB, Virginia Tech

Vilma to the Jets when it doesn't seem like a glaring need. Are they not very high on the prospect of Victor Hobson?

Kev.. I don't know if it's a good pick. Barton, Cowart and Hobson? That's good enough for me. i'd rather go with a trade down and pick up a 2nd tier CB late in the first/early 2nd. Best players available now are DL.

Yeah - they could have selected Wilfork and STILL continued their three year streak of taking UMiami players in the first round.

Interesting that no current players have been traded. So much for the Browns dumping Couch/Northcutt. Detroit probably said "no thanks" and took the second rounder instead :)

Bears / Bucs DT's?[can't beleive they fell this far, but i'm excited for the BEars/Bucs, please don't F' it up.]

cracker..i like Hobson, wasted pick in my eyes
I agree, although it seemed like the concensus pick for some time. Even when you consider that they may run more 3-4, the LB's that they have don't fit the typical OLB mold.

Whoah!!Lee Evans to Buffalo???Their draft team has their heads up their butts. Evans will be a great player, but exactly HOW does this help their glaring needs on the defensive side of the ball, or their aging QB?Then again, any other year, noone would be questioning this pick - the NFL is def. going best available player with 4 WRs in the first 13 picks.

here was hoping Evans would go to Jacksonville, NY Jets or SF... dont know what Buffalo plans to do with him... but he could have gone to a much better situation than Buffalo... unless Moulds/Reed are gone.

I very much agree. Just becasue there are a lot of them, it doesn't mean they aren;t all good.

BTW, I predict the Bears will select V. Wilfork.
You're wrong - in the first round the Bears WILL go with a DE who plays like a LB for Lovie Smith's attack defense.DT Wilfork is fast as heck, but he is free falling to the late teens due to weight issues. A big DT (regardless of speed of the line) is not what Lovie wants.Though I could see the Bucs or the Broncos taking Wilfork if he falls that far.

What Happened to Tommy Harris? I thought he was the #1 DT?

Obvious selection here. I don't think they imagined him being available at #14.
Yes it is. I wish he would slide, but oh well. As long as S. Jackson & a WR are taken before the Vikes, this draft will have turned out much better than I had hoped. Please note: Assumption - Vikes pick at #19. No gimme.
