*Official 1st Day Draft Thread -Round 1 - Round 3* (1 Viewer)

Yeah. That's all drama. But the NYG/SD trade has been talked about for days. As has the idea that SOMEBODY was going to move up to get Winslow. Lots of moving, lots of jiving, but nobody going out on any limbs or taking any surprising players.
Am I the only one that was shocked that the Lions took Williams(a move I like a lot btw)? I don't recall seeing one single mock that had Detroit ending up with Roy. If they really want him all along, then a good part on their management's part of not leaking info like so many teams do.That offense could be scary if Harrington comes through on his potential.

Then you'll have at least one RB on par with "He Hate Me". ;) OK...maybe a little earlier with the trash talk.
bwhahahahahahahaare you guys going to be able to field an offensive line this year?

Wow - there's a slight shock. WR - Reggie Williams to Jax.I think it is a reach for something they really don't have a pressing need for. They need to generate sacks, and I'm a bit surprised Del Rio didn't go DE/DT or LB.Defesive players are falling fast - supports my arfgument that Denver traded up for options, niot a specific player, since they probably saw a ton of defensive playerrs falling. The teams between #11 and #19 have excellent shots at excellent defensive players.

Good question. I expect Carolina to go guard in the first round and hold off on WR unless Troupe falls.

Which direction is Houston going? Dunta Robinson maybe. They could've certainly used Sean Taylor. Vince Wilfork would also be a nice addition with Seth Payne returning from injury at NT.

Bills better not go DE, Schobel and give Kelsey and chance this year..... trade down for lee evans and get a few extra picks, id be happy with wilfolk though..... but im really hoping they trade with the texans to get ben....

My dynasty QB is looking real good right about now.
As long as he can cut down on the mistakes - 14 TDs versus 19 INTs last year is not encouraging. In a year or two, I think Leftwich will be a weekly 250-300 yard/2 or 3 TD performer, but it'll be a year or two away.

Cornerback to HoustonDoes Pitt take Ben or a defensive line player - the #1 DT is still on the board.

excellent pick, a sleeper for sure with Reggie. I good friend of mine heard Clayton say something about this is the most polished WR out of them all. He'll do well especially with Leftwich

Yep, D. Robinson. Supposedly the Jets wanted him bad .. too badPitt fans must be dancing for Big Ben already. Thought they'd annouce the pick immediately.

hoping ben slips past the steelers and the steelers go with a DL and then the jets wont take big ben leaving the billls with himahh so many hopes:glass half full not empty:

Roeth unofficially to the Steelers.I'd imagine the Niners either take Clayton (not John, hopefully!) or trade down w/ Philly.
That would be the smart move and Jackson to Philly.

I love Suzie Kolber. She's the best NFL woman in the game. Look at that scoop she got. What a player putting that mike in on the convo between Ben and Bill Cower."Yeah coach"Loved it.

Roy gets traded to Jags, Reggie gets traded to TB, TB drafts Jackson and then trades him to Detroit.Throw in misc picks to even things out and you have another blockbuster.

As a Steeler fan, this looks like a good sign to me that maybe the coaches finally realize that this team isn't as good as they have been telling themselves the past 2 years. Now they have finally turned their attention toward building for the future.

Meh.I'll live with it if we get good values on CB and OL in rds 2 & 3. Doomed to 5-11 type records for a couple years now, though. Oh, well.
I think you are being pessimistic - Pitt's CBs aren't tops, but I believe the sxcheme was crud anf the coaching was crud more than the players were crud.Your run D is excellent.Your O-line is not horrible, the real problem was losing Marvel Smith for, esentially, the entire year. True, Pitt needs O-line players in a bad way, but Ben sits for a year and develops, which he needs to do anyway, and the team re-builds its o-line, running game, retains the WRs, and when Ben comes in, he'll have every piece in place to succeed.
