**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (1 Viewer)

I love when the commentators are able to interview managers during the game - be it MLB or NHL as both seem to be most prominent. Really love hearing the managers thoughts about the current game, albeit brief. Joe Maddon's interview was extended and good. Love these.

Idiot D'backs play-by-play guy:

"Hamilton steps into the box to get us started tonight. The corner infielders are so close, they could literally shake hands with Billy."

The Red Sox call up a kid who was hitting .217 in Pawtucket. They bat him 6th in the lineup. Surprisingly, he leaves the bases loaded in the 1st inning, looking at three straight strikes.

The complaining has been ramped up recently. I assume it's due to being on the ### end of whatever gambling matchup he had that day.

Always.
Gotta be honest, though... not much to complain about today. :coffee:

Now if someone would be kind enough to talk me out of putting most of that on Greinke tonight.
I like the option to share your bet with your Facebook friends.
Good publicity for Sportsbook, I suppose.

I'm now to the point where I won't pitch anyone vs Oakland anymore.
Oakland has scored the most runs in the majors

Oakland has allowed the least runs in the majors

Their run differential is +115

Second place is SF at +59, and third is Toronto at +39

that is pretty ####### impressive

They are the best team IMO, they do everything right and the platoon shtick is working out famously so far. Now imagine they had Parker and Griffin.

the sick thing is they did this all with a HORRIBLE closer but it looks like that problem has been solved with Doolittle

How many BS do they have? JJ has to have at least 5. Gregerson has 2 or 3
They lead the league, not sure how many it is though.
9, but the Pirates now have 11! :towelwave:

Doolittle, Gregerson and Abad have all been pretty good. Cook's iffy and now injured, and Jim Johnson's obviously a dumpster fire and waste of money. I think with Doolittle in the 9th/Gregerson in the 8th, things should settle down. O'Flaherty joins in sometime in the middle of the season too, which probably won't hurt.

But yeah, I think the key is keeping Jim Johnson out of anything even remotely resembling a high leverage situation.

The league leading .261 BABIP against also really helps, the defense isn't letting much fall in. Or through. Shifts help.

Win or lose, it's a pretty tremendous job by Beane with the normal shoestring budget.

Wow, what a crazy play in the Bronx. Pop-up along the LF line. Jeter runs out there, Gardner slides to catch it and it bounces off of him - in fair territory - and Jeter bobbles it then drops it. Jeter jogs after it, thinking it's a foul ball. Batter ends up with a triple.

Did you expect anything different?

For those who missed it... 2nd and 3rd, 1 out.

Swinging strike 1 on a pitch in the dirt.

Swinging strike 2 on a pitch in the dirt.

Swinging strike 3 on a pitch in the dirt.
