Chile/Holland should still be good. Two teams that like to all-out attack and the group winner (probably) avoids Brazil.Well... Chile/Holland and Spain/Australia are getting more boring by the minute.
Chile/Holland is important because loser plays Brazil in the knockoutsWell... Chile/Holland and Spain/Australia are getting more boring by the minute.
great pass by Casillas to the open man....
They won't know that when they play. Brazil and Mexico each play after chile/holland and it's far from a lock Brazil will land 1st in group.Chile/Holland is important because loser plays Brazil in the knockoutsWell... Chile/Holland and Spain/Australia are getting more boring by the minute.
Jaysus, thank you for posting the goal GIFs. I'd have to look back through the thread to see who else has been doing this, so thanks to everyone contributing to this.
It's all Jaysus...He's the Jaysus of go #### yourself cat gifsJaysus, thank you for posting the goal GIFs. I'd have to look back through the thread to see who else has been doing this, so thanks to everyone contributing to this.
Hmm, I didn't know that. I assumed they'd keep the same schedule rotation. They won't know that when they play. Obviously forgot about that part of it.Chile/Holland is important because loser plays Brazil in the knockoutsWell... Chile/Holland and Spain/Australia are getting more boring by the minute.
ETA: ...or Mexico. The group A games will be complete by the time Chile-Netherlands take the field. If Brazil finishes second in their group, Chile-Netherlands could be a travesty
Their group is hard, so it would be like a #1 seed losing to a #8 seed in the round of 32.Hey, another noob footie question:
What kind of a choke are we talking about here for Spain to not advance? I know they were considered one of the top teams, what I am wondering is how rare is it for a team of this caliber to get knocked out of the WC? Like a top 2 seed going down in the first game of March Madness? Or more common?
Had to miss the first half. Wife was reluctant to reschedule the embryo transfer. Now at a local bar with a Pisco Sour.Cheeee-Layyyyyy
BTW where is Scooby? Under a pile of hunky Euro footy fans, I imagine.
I find your avatar disturbing, but I can't look away.Their group is hard, so it would be like a #1 seed losing to a #8 seed in the round of 32.Hey, another noob footie question:

Netherlands and Chile are tough sides. It's not like France losing to Senegal in 2002.Hey, another noob footie question:

Happened to France in 2002 and Italy in 2010. Not too uncommon.Their group is hard, so it would be like a #1 seed losing to a #8 seed in the round of 32.Hey, another noob footie question:

The writing has been on the wall about Spain with them getting slammed in the Confed Cup last year in Brazil (by Brazil) and with Barca losing their spot as preeminent team on the globe.Hey, another noob footie question:

Because that's 1 and done, it really isn't the a good comparison. It would be more like the if the Spurs only win 30 games next year.Their group is hard, so it would be like a #1 seed losing to a #8 seed in the round of 32.Hey, another noob footie question:

Just trying to make the Aussie and Russian keepers feel better?Amazing how awful he is playing.Wow Casillas
I do recall seeing a Spain tune-up, and it's like a different team. Very little of that short passing, which even I could notice. The writing has been on the wall about Spain with them getting slammed in the Confed Cup last year in Brazil (by Brazil) and with Barca losing their spot as preeminent team on the globe.Hey, another noob footie question:

Both teams relied on a core of amazing players who used short passes and constant short movement to just destroy teams (what people call the tika taka). But teams have figured out to use high pressure and speed to open them up- and that's what we've been seeing here so far. Plus, the Spanish core players are all getting a little old... and likely have lost a step, allowing other teams to do this.

Hey Scoob- I either didn't know, or likely didnt remember you posting in the other thread (fertility, not pron or soccer). Best of luck with it! We went through it twice, so feel free to get unsolicited advice (use your right hand, not your left). An embryo transfer would be a good name for a drinkHad to miss the first half. ?How effin' crazy do you have to be to go to a foreign country, storm into a stadium with 100s of armed security, with no obvious way out, and then go through the media center? Verdict of guilty by tomorrow and in jail by Friday?
To be fair, the Aussie keeper should have saved it and the timing was terrible, but it wasn't a god-awful mistake like the Ruskie's. Iker's falls somewhere inbetween, IMO.Just trying to make the Aussie and Russian keepers feel better?Amazing how awful he is playing.Wow Casillas
100 Chilean ticket-less fans tried to bum rush a gate.?How effin' crazy do you have to be to go to a foreign country, storm into a stadium with 100s of armed security, with no obvious way out, and then go through the media center? Verdict of guilty by tomorrow and in jail by Friday?
Not watching. What happended?
FIFA jails are no joke. I am not making this up. There were cases in South Africa. Those guys might be beginning long sentences before the week is out.How effin' crazy do you have to be to go to a foreign country, storm into a stadium with 100s of armed security, with no obvious way out, and then go through the media center?
