Official 2015 Cowboys Thread- 4-12. We won the 4th pick! (1 Viewer)

I think its pretty obvious, only people invested in Hardy (Cowboy fans, IDP owners) are going to defend him.

How can a person of sound body and mind defend a guy who was convicted by a judge much smarter than anyone here on laws and this case and then see the photo evidence on which he was convicted and still defend him? The above is the only reason, and even if they are vested I have to feel they are ashamed of themselves for defending such a proven vile person.

The people defending Hardy can not be defending him, because they would be embarrassing. They have to be defending him because they are fans desperate for some wins so they will even take this abusive person on their team and defend him.
I have to hope you're right, because I don't like to think about the alternative explanation.

Jerruh would sign the devil if he thought he could get pressure on a QB.

The Cowboys are not the only team to willingly sign human trash. The alarming thing to me is hardy is skating thru this and as cocky as ever. It's like the little kid that parents don't punish.....he's gonna kill someone.

Jerruh called hardy one of the leaders......really jerruh? Let's just call it like it is. This guy is a hired thug. This is as simple as he's a talented football player, so people look the other way, or try to justify it.....sickening.

IT's official, for the first time ever i am embarrassed to be a cowboys fan. I wore my Cowboys sweatshirt with pride when they were 1-15, it is not the record. It is the drama, the selling our soul, the continual bowing down to players who act like toddlers.

I cannot take it any more, I wish Romo would just have a setback and not play this season. I am not excited for games anymore, and not because of the on field performance, but because of the a-holes on the team.

Its hard to pull for this team. I keep reminding myself that people like witten and romo are good people, but the bad people scream so loud.

They should cut hardy, and they should bench Dez. There's a way people are supposed to act, and this is not it.

I blame Jerry since he is allowing this to happen with creating an atmosphere where players believe this is acceptable. Until you effect his money he will not care about you as a fan or the backlash he gets.

It's crazy how they seem to be falling apart at the seams. I hate Hardy. He's a disgusting human being. By I actually like Dez. He's passionate and he's not very intelligent, but I think he means well. From what I understand, his issue yesterday was with some disparaging words written by a beat writer. I'm sure that losing 7 games in a row has everyone a bit on edge in the locker room. Bryant is a sensitive guy and didn't handle it well. I don't feel that he is a locker room cancer or much of a problem. In fact, I think he probably has a very positive affect on the team and its morale. Getting rid of Randle was a nice start. If Jones ever grew some morals and wanted to send a positive message, cutting Hardy would be a very smart move. But I can't see him doing that. For starters, it would be admitting a mistake. Not a Jones trait. Secondly, he's still a good pass rusher and hat's all that seems important to Jones.

i have gotten used to Dez, BUT

he's like a child in that you need to set limits. I think the cowboys setting off the field limits on him has helped him. But he has to know that there is a line, and he cannot cross it. Yelling at the PR guy., yelloing at the press, yelling at his head coach for christ's sake. That's too much, time to rein him in a bit

maybe don't suspend him but don't start him. Let Garrett come out and say that there's a time when passion crosses the line, Dez crossed that line, they've discussed it he understands and he won;t start the next game, Give the coach some ####, instead of having him come out there and say how awesome dez is. Quit enabling, encourage the passion but encourage retraint as well.

as for hardy, i sincerely hope we take all the heat for him and he plays well and someone else offers him a giant contract that we do not match

my fear is we'll offer the giant contract

Garrett and Jones have handcuffed themselves by not suspending Hardy for his attack on the special teams coach and fellow players. He got physical with his own team and was praised as a leader. No way they can discipline Bryant for just yelling.

i agree

but it is still what they should do

It just sickens me to see these guys disrespect so many people and be labeled leaders and passionate. I feel like as adults you need to know boundaries.

I would find it very difficult to believe that any other team will give him a giant contract.. Only Jerry.

Although the Dallas Cowboys had a first round grade on Witten for the 2003 NFL Draft, when their turn came in the second round, they selected Al Johnson based on team needs (after drafting cornerback Terrence Newman in the first round). Although Johnson had a short career in the NFL, another rookie who also arrived in Dallas in 2003 would go on to become Jason Witten's teammate for the next 11+ years (as well as his roommate during future team training camps and travel games): undrafted rookie free agent Tony Romo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During that draft there was speculation that Buffalo would take Witten in the 1st round after trading back to pick 23 and needing a TE. They picked McGahee instead.

It is interesting to see that the Eagles took a TE 8 picks before Dallas took Witten. The incomparable LJ Smith.

Cowboys can steal a win today @ TB.

And the rest of the NFC East has tough match-ups, although all 3 at home.

NO@WSH

MIA@PHI

NE@NYG

Of course now that I've said this, Dallas will lose, and the others will win.

The defense did their job today. You gotta be able to score more than 6 points against that defense.

Play for a good draft pick at this point and draft a QB plz?

Hard to believe they couldn't run the ball against Tampa.......
Tampa is ranked 12th in rushing defense. McFadden didn't have many holes to run through. The Bucs weren't scared of Cassel throwing downfield, and played to stop the run.

Romo is coming back and Dez is going to blister the league.
the defense is spotty (sure they stopped the bucs this week), the locker room is a wreck, the best offensive line in the league is not, and they cannot run the ball.

I'll be happy if when Romo comes back and survives

So,

hardy may or may not have come in late and missed meetings, and faced no punishment. Also got into another sideline confrontation.

This guy is a real gem, so glad Jerry is enabling him. [sarcasm]At least he's translated into wins[/sarcasm].

Imo, since the window is small, Jerry is okay bringin in a greg hardy to put em over the top.......this dude is a first class POS. The real leaders in the locker room can't be happy about having hardy.

I'd honestly rather lose without hardy than win with him

I am squarely in this camp too.
I would think that 99% of fans are in this camp. The problem is Jerry is the other 1%.

Any insight on what happened to Michael? Since Dallas is still in it, surprised they'd cut their backup RB just like that without some sort of incident going down.

Count me in the 1% that would rather have him. NFL is full of losers and Hardy is just flavor of the week for PC crowd to rail against. How quickly people forget Jameis Winston raping a chick or even Big Ben. Hell even Pacman is still in the league. belicheck even knew about Hernandez being a gang banger or Eagles singing Michael Vick. Everyone signs bad guys dont fall victim to thinking it's just Dallas. And for the record I think Hardy is a horrible person who happens to be great at football.

Charles Haley, Lawrence Taylor, Warren Sapp and Randy White were all crazy POS and seemed to win just fine.

Randy White may have been crazy, but what did I miss that would lump him in with those degenerates?

Worst thing I can remember is him driving his pickup truck through the picket lines to play with the scrubs during the strike.

Grandpa was police officer in Virginia area and there were many a stories of Randy White clearing out bars in DC area throwing chairs bottles etc. plus from what I've read he was a pretty intense locker room character. Only 35 so he was before my time.

Evidently no hustle in practice ticked off Linehan.

I'm only a bit older, just enough to remember the '85 strike, ha. I wouldn't doubt the stories, seems to fit his intense personality, on and off the field. Sometimes that's what it takes to be a great player, but that's not the same as hitting a woman (or worse).

Other than the patriots game the Cowboys have literally lost every game on one play. A healthy and hungry Romo will be enough to score more points and keep the defense off the field.

Y'all are acting like a bunch glass of half empty, fairweather losers. feel free to turn in your fan card.

I'm riding with Tony Romo on this one. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hHn3GStWc2A

The time to be all indignant about the Greg Hardy signing was last summer, not the Monday night game versus the Eagles. I heard none of this kind of talk back then.
