*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (4 Viewers)

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't Bradford a sub-60% passer for his career?
If you have time listen to the presser. He pretty much answered your exact question. Said he watched every pass.

Said some times QB's are not accurate and WR's make good catches

Said stats lie. Could be WR's fault dropped passes etc

Listen to it if you can

Could buy the WRs part of the equation, but over a career? I just don't quite buy it. Maybe a new system will help him, but I don't think he's some super accurate passer.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet

Former #Chargers RB Ryan Mathews is on a plane to Philly. He has agreed to terms on a 3-year, $12M deal, source said, pending physical.

Eagles and former Chargers RB Ryan Mathews officially have reached agreement on 3-year, $11.5 million deal that includes $5M gtd, per source

Sound very similar to: Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter ·

Frank Gore's deal now officially signed, per @RosenhausSports: 3 years for $12 million, including $8.5 million in the first 2 years.

He said they ONLY dealt with the Rams for Nick too.

I know he watched every snap and I know me and you didn't lol. It is what it is.

I'll agree stats don't tell the whole story, but production is production. You cant skew that.

Production from NFL HC Chip Kelly is way different than ours.

THIS

@MikeClayNFL: Chip answers every question with detail and even throws in some extra. Response is that everything he said is a lie. Why even talk?

I listened. The first round pick was a bs response back at Eskin.
He was asked that question additional times and answered the same way.

He said he dealt only with the Rams too. Why her we agree or not, he wanted him. Same as what Peter King reported.

entering last season what would the mccoy owner in your league have said if he got offered matthews straight up for him?

This was a good point by Chip

@AlbertBreer: 5) He acknowledged there's a buy-low principle to a number of Eagles acquisitions (Bradford, Mathews, Alonso). Maybe sports science ...

Chip specificlly said "Without injury these guys are not available."

Maybe they drop Polk or Sproles?
Spending that amount of money on RB's is just stupid.
Not when you have it and want to run the ball. Like saying re Packers are stupid for having 2 WR's making 10+ million.
If they can Murray at $7mil or so, I feel much better having Mathews and Murray over McCoy for the same price.
Sure, but hasn't he already turned down that much from Dallas?

But has anyone offered that to him on the market? He has the Jags, Raiders and Eagles. Which team gives you a chance to stick it to Jerruh twice a year?

I'll be honest, I like that deal way more than the deal Gore got.
i agree. i think that Mathews should at least match Gore's productivity for that time-frame and has the higher upside. and for less dead money if he does get hurt.

@ZBerm: Chip: "If [bradford] never tore his ACL, he'd never be traded. ...The injury rate in the NFL is 100%. Just depends on the severity of it."

@smartfootball: In presser Chip implies that signing injured players is a way to get value/buy low on players in FA; implies alternative is just to outspend

@ZBerm: Chip Kelly on McCoy trade: "The way we looked at it is we got Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell for LeSean McCoy.
The way i look at it is we got Bradford for McCoy. Spin it how you want Chippy, spending 13m on a questionable QB who doesnt bring that much more to the table than Nick Foles is bewildering. To me at least.

@ZBerm: Chip: "We wouldn't have traded for him if we didn't think he had a tremendous upside as a QB. ...We've done our due diligence."

@ZBerm: Chip on Bradford:"He's one of the most accurate throwers when you see him throw the football. I think he's smart. I think he's wired right."

@smartfootball: Chip also said he talked to Bob Stoops and Kevin Wilson about Sam Bradford before pulling trigger on the trade. (Not exactly a surprise...)

He definitely had more natural talent as a passer than Foles.

Before the shoulder injury/surgery. That's why he hasn't lived up to the hype in the NFL.
