*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (3 Viewers)

...a healthy Bradford has a pretty high ceiling....
That's the key obviously. If Bradford gets injured in say, Week 4, they might have to airlift Chip out of town and have him coach remotely for the rest of the season. Would almost be worth it for the lolz.

Calling it now, only in Philly will people complain when they add the NFL's leading rusher, a Pro Bowl RB backup, and a playmaking ILB for the price of the RB they lost.

BREAKING NEWS: eagles use their remaining cap space and sign Dr James Andrew to a 300 million dollar contract with 90 million guaranteed, he will slide in as their nickel CB.

By week 5 it will be sanchez handing off to polk while bradford and murray are on the sideline racing their stationary bikes, mathews wont make it out of OTAs. sproles will have been traded for a cheesesteak because chip is pretty sure he can eat one half and still get 30 yards 3 receptions a game from the other half because of the system.

like rg3 you shoulda stopped at round 1

A couple of things from Chip's presser this afternoon. First, Chip is a very sharp guy. Plus he seems like he is having fun with this. I was expecting to see some stress on him based on the media and how everyone is flipping out, but man Chip is a cool guy under pressure. Listening to him gets me excited about the season. I mean it could be Shane Falco he is talking about and I am excited. Secondly, He mentions they turned down a 1st round pick for Bradford today as well. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/videos/videos/Press-Pass-Chip-Kelly/0d20c274-36fd-4bea-adf4-578b434afdbc

@Donnybrook I haven't read that post but I think Chip would be wise to pay attention to what McDaniels is doing. At this time I believe the Patriots run the up tempo better than any other team. They know when to dial it up and when to slow it down. The up tempo is just another tool in the bag.

:lmao:

There is zero chance anyone offered the Eagles a first round pick for Bradford.

I think someone really did offer a first for Bradford.

But I think the offer was more like a first for Bradford and a third. And Chip just "forgot" the second part.

Or as Booger McFarland pointed out this morning on Sirius, maybe somebody offered a 2016 first for Bradford. I could see that also.

Has Ryan Matthews officially been signed? Could the Eagles sign Demarco Murray and then find something in Ryan Matthews' physical to nix that deal?

Stranger things have happened.... ( Carson Palmer ?)

Now that I have had time to digest the Bradford move, I am ok with it. I think he is a better QB than Foles but thats not the issue here. Can he stay healthy? More than likely not and if he doesnt, we get a 3rd or a 4th back. So we traded Foles whom Chip clearly did not want and a 2nd for a guy he likes and a small insurance policy. At the end of the day, its not that big of deal.

2 days ago there was a zero chance that Bradford and Jimmy Graham would be traded :lmao:

2 out of 10 for that one. You lose points because of the cliché cheesesteak reference.

Shady practice if they pull that. And how would Bradford pass a physical? He even said he isn't 100%.

I am honestly a little baffled at the resistance so many have shown to signing Murray. I guess I must have been watching the wrong games last year, but I saw Murray as the absolutely most vital ingredient to the Cowboys' playoff run. He is what basically allowed Romo the space to do anything last year. I think if Chip feels he can round out the team and still sign Murray, I'm all for it. I really don't get the hate.

I think that anyone with a problem with Alonso is definitely offpoint, but wrt the RBS, it just does not seem like the wisest use of the money if they were to sign both of those guys.

If they can get Murray for less than what Shady was owed, I think it's a no-brainer. The question is the use of resources for Murray AND Mathews.

Yes that is a little odd, but not enough to make me go nuts. The Bradford deal is much more mystifying to me. In any case, the fact that signing Murray improves the Eagles while instantly making Dallas worse is a huge gain.

I thought that too but you could strain relationships by doing something this slimy.
Whats any different from Frank Gore changing his mind? "Sorry Ryan, we decided to go another difection". @AdamSchefter just said on ESPN DeMarco Murray is in Philly "with the intent to sign a contract" with the #Eagles.

9:03am - 12 Mar 15

Schefter: "Philadelphia has been very serious about courting DeMarco Murray... This is serious business."

9:04am - 12 Mar 15

Regarding Gore--you can deal with that as a player since nothing was signed. A team faking a failed physical is bad for business

Yea i edited my post, i thought you might think i was agreeing with the physical part. No that would be bad, but if they decide to go another direction then i dont think thats a big deal.

As a fan im all for it. As an organization they would burn some bridges though.

Any idea what WRs they will target in the draft?

Although I think it was wise not giving Maclin the $11 million he wanted, losing him hurts. Just hope Huff and Matthews progress.

Dallas reporter tweeting that Murray and family telling everyone hes and Eagle, and Cowboys brass is aware. Ill try and find the tweet.

@AdamSchefter: Ryan Mathews agreed to a deal with PHIL, he did not sign a deal. Question will be whether he signs if and when Eagles sign DeMarco Murray.

So say they somehow get the deal with Murray, and he signs for around $9M a year, as most are speculating he would require. That would mean:

McCoy: subtract $10.25M

Murray: add $9M

Alonso: add $1.2M

Net: We lost McCoy, added Murray and Alonso, and basically broke even against the cap. Not bad.

@fishsports: BREAKING: #DeMarcoMurray family is telling people "He's joining the #Eagles ' ... #Cowboys people aware of this @1053thefan

Dallas insider.

I don't think Murray gets 9M. Supposedly his camp was hoping for 8 but he was only getting offered 5-6.

OTOH, with the way the Eagles have been negotiating, maybe he gets 10.

Updating a previous report, free agent RB Ryan Mathews has not signed his contract with the Eagles.

With the Eagles now courting DeMarco Murray, Mathews may back out on his $11.5 million deal. Murray would dominate carries in Philadelphia, making Mathews a backup with a very limited role. He's certainly aiming to land somewhere he can at least be part of a two-man timeshare. That wouldn't be Philly.

Off the Murray/Bradford a bit... I like what we did with the front 7. Kiko (assumign healthy) graded out very well as a coverage LB if I recall. Kendricks was excellent in coverage as well. bringing back Graham and moving him to a full time role in what I assume will be heavily slanted towards his strengths of stopping the run and rushing the passer, with Kiko in the fold we won't need to be dropping Graham back. He gets to do what he does best, go hit someone. I see putting other teams in 3rd and long quite a bit (now, can we stop them on that 3rd and long...)

Caplan: Members of DeMarco Murray's inner circle are headed to Philly, which tells you where this situation is going.

9:36am - 12 Mar 15

@SarahSpain: Source tells me DeMarco Murray & his wife are headed to PHI tomorrow AM. Chip Kelly cancelled his own flight to send jet to DAL for them.

That was last night.

Rolling out the red carpet. I think that 1 yard in SF and AZ really stuck in Chip's craw.

I dont think hes completely out on Mariota, King said Thursday on the 94WIP Morning Show. In my opinion, ifsomehowif Mariota gets to eight, 10, 12 somewhere right in there. Theres no question in my mind that Chip Kelly will try aggressively to get him.
http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2015/03/12/peter-king-if-mariota-falls-kelly-will-pursue-aggressively/
Pete is covering all angles.

@SI_PeterKing: Reporting Mariota story 2 wks ago, I was told by one close to the QB: Do not minimize Tennessees interest. They are very serious here."

Pro-Bowl RB DeMarco Murray is flying to Philadelphia this morning with the expectation he will be an Eagle, per a league source.

Dallas has had numerous chances to resign Murray throughout the year and now.

Aside from the contract, the Eagles are most appealing to Murray because of his belief in their chance to win.

Murray would consider a final, last minute offer from the cowboys, per source, but he's going to Philadelphia with the intent to sign.

Murray intends to sign with Philly...

@RavensInsider: Byron Maxwell six-year, $63 million deal: $25M gtd, $6M bonus, $6.5M roster bonus, salaries $1M, $8.5M, $10M, $9.75M, $9.5M, $10.5M

22 guaranteed in the first 2 years.
