*Official 2015 Philadelphia Eagles* - Winning when it doesnt count (3 Viewers)

Every week, every season, they come up with a new way to tear your heart out.

Doesn't matter who's coaching, who the QB is, the Eagles will always let you down in the same way.

It'd be one thing to just stink. You don't expect much when you stink. But the worst thing about being an Eagles fan is hope. They always give you something to be excited about right before they rip the rug out from under you.

This is not a good team. Yet how many games have the been blown out in? None.

We had a decent chance to win every single one of them. And that's being an Eagles fan in a nutshell.
Couldn't have said this any better. Bar non the exact description what the life of an Eagles fan is. Hope that is ultimately blown to pieces.

4-5, still in the division hunt but it's really hard to really care after the debacle I witnessed yesterday.

Couldn't have said it better. Said to my girlfriend when it was 16-3, "offense and defense both look great. Finally. And we didn't wait for the second half to make it happen". Was so sure that the emotional overtime vein in Dallas woke them up and this was the beginning of a nice run. Ugh. Then they sucked for the rest of the game.

It looked like the missed FG just sucked the life out of the team.

And anybody who wants to say Bradford was progressing nicely before he got hurt, after the first 2 drives, he stunk yesterday. He holds onto the ball too long, has no pocket awareness, which leads to sacks and fumbles (and ultimately him getting hurt). Sanchez came in and showed us he still knows how to turn it over when you need it the least.

Consider:

QB's under Kelly:

Foles: 94.2 QBR (6 games under Reid included)

Sanchez: 86.6 QBR

Bradford: 82.4 QBR

Same QB's Outside of the Eagles:

Foles: 75.9 QBR

Sanchez: 71.7 QBR

Bradford: 79.3 QBR

So Chip Seems to make QB's better. But he can only do so much when they are mediocre to start out with. The Eagles next QB under Kelly either has to have good pocket awareness and get rid of it quickly, or have the ability to run which should give the offense more read options which will open up the run and pass game. GET A GOOD QB CHIP!

Unfortunately we'll probably get a Kaepernick retread next year at best and have a repeat of what Vick looked like in his 6 games under Kelly.

We can pout, but we're still in line to win the div. How are you guys feeling about Sanchez? Any wrinkles to the offense that might help?

I lobbied for Sanchez, but I never said it'll be pretty!

If he can stop turning the ball over at critical junctures in the game i'd feel a lot better about him.

Although I can't help think Austin had a lot to do with the end zone pick. How the #### are you not looking for the ball there!?! He very much could've at least got a hand on it and then maybe it isn't picked off. Just so frustrating to watch this team.

I hope Sanchez at least throws some deep balls to Agholor. Anything to get the defense to play the deep ball which opens up everything else.

I don't think it is a coincidence that yards per Attempt under Kelly:

2013: 8.7

2014: 7.4

2015: 6.9

A little life and mobility is a start

The offense should be faster. Kelly will get all sorts of high play numbers now. Maybe 90 even. We could probably score 20 points if we ran 90 plays.

Austin could have made more of an effort, but we only needed a field goal to take the lead. No way a good quarterback even takes the chance of forcing that ball in there like that. Not sure why we were passing at all (that's probably on Chip), but just like a baseball player knows the situation and where he's going with the ball before every pitch, a pro quarterback needs to know the game situation and eat that ball or throw it in the stands.

Which is why he's a backup. And why a good coach would say, "hey whatever you do, don't force a throw" to his backup QB who loves to force throws at bad times. And maybe he did tell him that, so then it goes back to why are we throwing there?

And ironically enough the better QB's he has had all had better weapons...as the QB's changed so did the weapons and both got worse.

It wont matter if he had Mariota this year or whichever QB he wants next season. You will not sustain any success with what we have at WR and TE.

I was on board and understood the rationale to get rid of Jackson and McCoy but its hard to not look back and think what Bradford would be with Jackson, Maclin, Matthews and McCoy or even the Murray/ Mathews combo.

Different face same results. The endzone throw by him should have reminded even the most forgetful fans as to what and who he is.

I like that he can extend plays a bit and he runs the offense faster. Next week TB will make him go deep, he wont be able to, and we will be in a dog fight with them as well.

You know what the longest word in the English language is? "If."

Every week it's "if" with this team. Good teams just don't fond ways to lose like they do. I admire some of the optimism in here but just the WR core alone is a fatal enough flaw.

And for Christ's sake already can we stop talking about the ####### rams already? Both teams stink. Who cares anymore?
We have 2 guys (Cooper and Austin) that I feel as if we cut today they wouldn't be on another team.....and these guys saw 97 combined snaps yesterday
and as I wrote earlier-they accounted for zero catches, zero yards and -14 points as they both directly contributed to a TD being negated. Agree with KCC, all other issues aside, the crap we are rolling out at WR alone, is enough to make this a sub-par team.

I *understood* letting Maclin go at the time because of financials, though I was marginally concerned. Really think this would be a different team if he was still here. Like 2-3 more wins different. Its normally absurd to suggest that one WR would be worth 2 games, especially a very good-not great guy like Maclin. Just think his impact on third downs, his effect on taking a lot of pressure away from Matthews, his pushing the depth down enough to get Austin off the team... Hindsight is 20/20 but damn, really think we'd be looking at wins yesterday and against the skins for sure, possibly Falcons game, probably not Dallas week 2 and definitely not Carolina..6-3 or 7-2?

Here is Chip in the presser trotting out all the excuses of IF IF IF

"If we made the FG, if we..." Shut up Chip.

I can't stand this.

Andy had a higher character than this.

I just shut it off. Didn't want to hear any more of this snarky a$$holes rap.

Has there been any word on the extent of Bradford's injury?
Grade 2 AC Joint sprain. Also a concussion that was pretty bad. No word on timetable but sounds like a couple weeks for sure. Although, this year in the NFL, everytime we hear a couple weeks, the next day they come out and say their season is over, so not sure what to believe. Hopefully it's not too bad since it's his non t hrowing shoulder.

This was probably the most frustrating loss of the year. I really wish we would get blown out if we are going to lose. Those are much easier to swallow then these tight games. I know everyone is sick of Chip's excuses, attack those who say Miami got 'lucky', and that good teams find ways to win, and not ways to lose, but I fail to believe we are as bad as our record when we lose games where one bounce/call our way and we win. I'm okay with the Panthers loss, hell I'm even okay losing to the cowboys with how bad we played that game.... but to lose by 1, 2, and 3 points is incredibly frustrating. We can't get that extra bounce to save our life. They say you have to be good to be lucky, so I think part of it is that we just aren't very good overall but it's hard not to think about the what-ifs.

We had to have that dolphins game. Sanchez scares me but he's a capable backup until Bradford's back which is hopefully soon. At this point we need some random wins against teams we should lose to to have a shot at this thing.

I don't even watch or listen to them. Given the choice not a single HC in the league would do them,

Jordan is going to have to step up huge. He already has the chemistry with Sanchez too. With our other receiving options, I'd expect Sanchez to throw 15 balls at JMatt and 15 balls at Ertz, and that's it.

Sanchez @home vs TB, and likely Sanchez again on the road Thanksgiving v. DET are both winnable games. That being said, if this team can't execute, eliminate ridiculous snaps over heads/penalties taking TDs away/bad holding calls/special teams miscues/and inferior WR play...it really doesn't matter who the opponent is. This team lacks focus and chronically shoots itself in the foot.

Disgusted with yesterday's performance, had a 13 point lead at home and repeatedly found a way to trip over themselves drive after drive and fail to put up any points whatsoever, letting Miami hang around all game long. Yes, Miami got a lucky bounce, but the offense failed to deliver on two opportunities to win with a FG on either the penultimate or final drive. Even then, should never have needed that 'comeback' to begin with. Beyond frustrating.

This team needs to be embarrassed with how they play down to teams and get caught and show some damn heart. Come out angry and run TB over, then roll into Detroit and do the same.

No chance if they can't get to 6-5, and see what the others in the division do over the next 2. Maybe they salvage the division and a home game, after all. And yes, I take 9-7 or 8-8 and a home playoff game, anything can happen IMO especially in the NFC.

Chip's NOT wrong to point at the player's execution as the issue, but of course he assembled these players and his staff gets them ready. If they aren't executing, week after week, that's on him. Mistakes happen once. Mistakes happening weekly are really bad habits.

Just have to be better, consistently. This team fools you into thinking that is actually going to happen, but hey, you know... this thing, and then the other thing, and the player's have to execute, and...

Ian Rapoport

@RapSheet

Based on initial tests, #Eagles QB Sam Bradford expected to miss this Sunday & potentially Thursday, Im told. Expect Mark Sanchez to start.

12:18 PM - 16 Nov 2015
Has Thad Lewis even dressed once this year? If Sanchez goes down, our season rest on ####### THAD LEWIS. Tim, stay near your phone.
We barely have a season now. We have no season if Thad goes in. That's the case with most teams that have to start their 3rd string though.

Bright spot is that Sanchez played half a season in this system. He probably knows it better than Bradford at this point. Would love to see him be able to win two very winnable games.

Crazy...

"Even after another down performance (3 catches/21 yards), Jordan Matthews is on pace to tie the Eagles’ single-season record for receptions"

I'm sure you're right but what I find disturbing is you get a window into Chip's personality. With Ried, he stonewalled us but rarely threw anyone under the bus and though we got incredibly sick of him saying, "I gotta do a better job." Are you not sick of Kelly standing up there after every loss and recounting how each loss (not just last weeks but for fack's sake he still recounts earlier losses) was a mistake of execution? I mean, this guys moves are what's driving this mediocre team. We all can see that copper and Austin stink. Would they be on another teams roster? I doubt it. Chip can't be blaming them. It's like blaming the snake for having fangs.

His "execution" is Andy's "I got to do a better job"

I have no issues with what he says. You watch Coughlin last night? He basically said "Beckham and Collins lost this game for us"--If it hold weight I don't care if they say it. And a LOT of the bad on this team is execution...a whole lot of it
