I can't believe the number of people touting Kaep. Have they seen him the past 2 seasons?

I mean he was benched for Blaine effing Gabbert.

They're better off rolling the dice with some mediocre college QB.

Well, one not named Hackenberg at least.
I'm not touting him. I'm saying that's Chips last hope that he'll jump for.
You make it seem like you'd be okay with that though. You mention Sanchez runs the offense better, Chip may go for Kaep, etc, etc, but then you still say Bradford is our best option. It just seems like a lot of complaining without any better viable option. And if you're asked "what would you do next if you were Chip at QB?", you'll revert back to "I would have NOT traded Foles last year".I am actually interested in what you would do right NOW with our QB situation going forward into next year though if you could have it your way.
I can't stand Kaep. I wish we would have drafted a QB last year or the year before that Chip could have been developing but it needs to happen now. If he's here for 2 years more, he absolutely needs to draft a QB that can be developed and possibly starting by 2017. We can't have these retreads try to fit into his style anymore. But I don't have faith that Chip will have that kind of patience. No one has really developed in this offense so far. It's just been you either have talent and can play or you don't.
So you would draft a QB next year if it were you. That being said, it's still early in the season, but let's say we are around pick 15... do you trade up for a potential franchise QB or hope that somehow a franchise QB slips to you at 15?
I have no idea how the draft plays out this far ahead especially with no 2nd round pick. But we can't keep accepting the BS excuse that they just missed their guy (OL, DB, WR). Then make a move to where you can get your guy and take him. We need a QB in here that is the heir apparent and learning the system while a Vet (Sanchez etc) holds the reigns. At least then we could see a plan and not this fly by the seat of your pants stuff.

Eagles fans are weird. No other team thread rambles for pages upon pages with posters having **** measuring contests on who's actually an "Official" fan.
Thayman, I generally don't like when you post in here, because you are usually trolling, but I can't disagree with this comment. Reading this thread is almost impossible, not because the Eagles are so bad, but a few posters are making it unreadable. At least Redskins fans are civil to each other. A happy Thanksgiving to you sir, and I hope you enjoy a disappointing Eagles performance on Turkey day. I can't see any reason why, right now, it won't be disappointing (for Eagles fans).
I honestly don't try to troll you. The only Eagle fan that is a troll is that Bird Go guy that's around and I'll give him as much as he gives. All but two weeks a season if I post it's because Eagle fans are typically very well informed and you used to get some really good info from this thread. It's declined tot the point where Fans of your team are telling each other "They'd eat a bullet" if they shared that same view point. Makes it tough to get any real good info or insight.

It's not a Washington v. Philadelphia thing, it's just a common decency thing and something I found odd since you don't see that in any other team thread no matter how bad the team is doing.
...from the guy that said the Dead skins won't have to worry about the Eagles anymore. Newsflash, you still suck too and aren't going anywhere.Extend Cousins.....that should do it hahaha.
 I think Washington is moving in the right direction with a competent GM who for the first time in awhile looks to be making some good football moves. The Eagles have been making moves that remind me an awfully lot of things that The Redskins would have been doing years ago. That's not a good thing.

ETA: There aren't many QB's available so extending Cousins may be the best move. If he continues to show some flashes of good games he can be decent placeholder.
Of course it looks that way as its a GM that may have some intelligence...which would be a 1st for Snyders circus. While there are some ridiculous cry babies in here the answer to why there are upset fans is that 4-6 is a nightmare to Eagles fans in the last 15 years while it is an amazing season for the Skins. Dan Snyder turned a great franchise into the Raiders....except the Raiders are better. That's why it's funny when you get cocky. You would love to have Lurie over Snyder and Chip over the wrong Gruden. You would do back flips for a coach that could win 24 games in 2 and a half years. You knock Kelly's roster moves but who is playing better on another team? Your boy DJAX has 150 yards in week 11.While this season is frustrating it could be a lot worse. Jim Tomsula is an NFL coach.
I'm not cocky, I have a fairly realistic view of what The Redskins are and always have. I'd challenge you to find a post of mine that says the Redskins are some unbeatable force.
  • Getting rid of talented players while bringing in high dollar replacements who don't perform
  • Not signing your own talent who has produced in your system
  • Neglecting an aging O-Line
These are the three biggest complaints Redskins fans have had. Chip Kelly is doing all of these things and with a very patient owner like Lurie it's a trend that can continue if Kelly is stubborn enough to stick to his system and not adjust.Again not a troll post simply a fan of a team who has watched the same situation play out a few miles down 95
Don't have time to review your post but the funniest I can remember is how the Skins don't have to worry about the Eagles for years. In your best year in ages you are tied with our worst team in years.

The only move he made I hate was at QB but I can see what he was hoping for. Without high picks you have to find a QB somehow. The Cardinals got Palmer when everyone thought he was done and 1st 2 years weren't great but year 3 he is lighting it up. I think that along with the Brees story Chip mentioned of taking an injury risk for top talent is what he was going for.

In hindsight you overpay for Maclin but he hit the lotto and he was an Andy guy so who knows if he would have stayed.

DJax and McCoy are falling apart.

Would have been a great story after 10 wins his 1st 2 years to win 12 and make a superbowl run but it's not realistic. He overachieved big time the 1st 2 years.

The importance of a franchise quarterback is sadly underrated.

Chip Kelly thinking he can just plug-and-play at QB in the NFL is a slight to the league.

Rodgers

Brady

Eli

Roethlisberger

Romo

Wilson

Newton

Brees

Luck

Only 1/3 of NFL teams have one and do that math. Of those 9 teams, all but 1 have been to a SB in the past 6 years.
I like how you used the last 6 years as the cutoff--well done.

in order to make the SB you first have to get into the what? Playoffs. Having one of those guys increases or decreases those odds? Lets not be silly.

Yesterday was an embarrassment in a must win game vs a struggling rookie QB. Winston is a mess at QB. The kid locked on to receivers all game and absolutely torched us making no reads. The team has no heart of desire. Assume the worst as far as FF goes for every player. This should/could be the game where Chip Kelly definitely decides to head back to college football next season. We can cry on talk radio and boo all we want. The grass is greener.

Matthews played every snap and gets 4 targets? smh. Assume the worst here too. He's flashed this season, and last, but his moment won't come until 2016 with a new coach and capable QB(no way we do worse than Sancheeks/Badford in 2016). I need a few T-Shirts for owning him everywhere.
Prior to yesterday's game Winston was completing 58% and had 10 TD's and 9 ints in his first 9 games. Definitely not bad for a rookie starting from day 1, and certainly not a mess.
Jameis Winston had thrown for a flimsy 1.0 TD/1.0 INT per game in his last seven games, and 1 TD/2 INTs total in his last three games... games in which he completed less than 57% of his passes in each game. That's who just walked in and threw 5 TDs on the Eagles. Call it what you like
And had a 6th dropped.

Vick, Barkley, Foles, Sanchez and Bradford all played for Chip Kelly. In terms of wins, losses and overall team production I was wrong about who?

On the plus side, should be an easy game on Thanksgiving.
We're going to get trucked. We gave up receiving TDs to five different guys yesterday. What do you think Calvin Johnson is going to do to us? I'm going to be hammered by 1pm, cooking dinner half in the bag wondering what the hell happened to this team.

And Golden Gate, and Eric Enron and William Fuller and Tatum Bell will all get TDs.

They've just beaten Green Bay and Oakland. And now they're home on Thanksgiving. I felt much better the past two weeks than I do about Thursday.
This. I have no clue how on Earth the Eagles would be favored and have about ZERO confidence in this team right now.

Feel very conflicted actually. I'm sure I'll be rooting for them to win on Thursday, but part of me is almost hoping they continue to lose and acquire a better draft slot.

If you really want change, you will hope the losses continue to pile up

I understand the logic, but I just can't root for them to lose when they're only one game out of first with 5 to play. As soon as we're out, I'm onboard with lose for a better pick.

The Lions have scored exactly three TDs in their 2 game win streak, and one of those was setup by 104 yard KR. They had an Arena League refugee playing RT yesterday they found on the street, he's on like his 3rd team this season. Started & outplayed guys who have been starting for 2-3 years.

The Lions defense is playing well - Slay has been a shutdown corner the last 6 weeks - but you don't have to worry about Jim Bib Cooter's boys blowing you out. Hell, if we get 50 yards rushing in a week it feels like a miracle.

Like the anger & snippiness. Good to see. We get a lot of apathy over in our thread.

Dude our team totally sucks worse than yours we are so going to beat you at losing this Thursday!

He likes us. He really likes us!

Just checked, Billy Davis' last job - Cleveland Browns LB coach....no wonder he is terrible. I can only think Chip ends up with this guy due to it being his 1st NFL job and not having better connections at the time? How do you pick this guy.

Better yet, look at what every D became within a year or two of him leaving.

Anyone else worried about Winston having a breakout day?
I guess Bill Davis wasn't. :sadbanana:
Only in the NFL can you keep your job after being the worst (pass D) in 2013, 2nd worst in 2014 and give up 500+ yards to last years worst team. That was one of the worst showings on D I have ever seen.
I don't think I've ever seen one worse. Replacing Johnson was an impossible task, but we've seen Juan Castillo and Billy Davis since JJ. Davis staying on staff for 43 games and counting is a headscratcher
it always makes me kick myself watching Carolina and seeing Ron Rivera coaching them. Funny that he hired McDermott as his DC

I'd like an up and coming coordinator please. One thing Andy gave us in the early regime was a bunch of guys that were on the cusp of being good to great coaches. JJ was a solid rock on Defense.

Take the poor QB play out of it and we still have one of the most undisciplined teams in the league. 96 total flags is 4th most even with only 73 penalties for 543 yards accepted. We even have the 3rd highest penalty beneficiary rate with 800 yards received from 90 penalties by our opponents.

How is a coaching staff that is this up in your business week in and week out not have the ability to keep these guys from committing stupid, drive extending or drive costing penalties every week?
this got passed over too easily. i didn't realize how bad they were. i know penalties can be kind of a generalization, but it really seems to occur this year way too often. some of them are pure unpreparedness and discipline like the 12 men on the field after a time out. some are just simply penalties that good teams do not make

On a good note, i forgot about this with how awful the game was, but that hit that Sproles had on that one punt return was gorgeous. he absolutely crushed that guy

Sproles has only been a big part of the gameplan in 2 games. That's yet another thing I don't understand. You got to get him the ball.

i think there is the option of a free agent QB too, or grabbing a promising back-up. I have to think the Eagles kick themselves thinking of how they brought in Tim Tebow even when Tyrod Taylor wanted to sign in Philadelphia. i know finding a future QB that way is a ton of luck and rarely happens, but would be something to see if possible. EJ Manuel has his flaws, like a lot of others do, but would be good to take a look at any possibilities

IIRC at the time there was some mention of many candidates being reluctant to be the DC opposite the hurry-up, no huddle, no TOP offense.

I just feel like if they get a fresh 1st to 3rd round level talent in here and bring him up through Chip's system it would hopefully yield something. Barkley unfortunately is the only example so far and he was a disaster. At least it's a plan we can see and not the hope and pray a mediocre, oft-injured first round failure turns it around and learns to play high level football.

I thought that myth was dispelled earlier. Taylor had already signed with Buffalo when the Eagles signed Tebow.
