Eagles probably have the worst fanbase in the league. And the players know that. Wouldn't be surprised if it costs them some free agents. If Bradford happens to light it up when he comes back, it wouldn't surprise me if he signed elsewhere after the season.
But you're right that Lane was dumb to say that about booing. Just invites more. And certainly doesn't mean the fans don't care. They just don't care the right way.

Eagles are 6-0 on Thanksgiving. I think they can make it 7-0. Expect to see a very angry team full of prideful men to show up for a national TV game that EVERYONE watches.
What better way to shut up the noise they have been hearing.
And, if this plays out, we root for Washington to best NY and hold a share of a 3 way tie for the NFC East at 5-6, with games against them both left on the schedule.

And this time next week we'll be talking about how were going to beat the Pats and storm into the playoffs.
I was thinking about that Wash game too. I can't see them beating the Giants coming off of a bye. Especially if we win, the Giants are going to be even more motivated to stay a game ahead of us. I guess the thing is, it doesn't even matter if we are a game up on, tied with, or a game back of NYG heading into week 17, its all on that game anyways. If we lose, and NYG win though, we are toast. Especially heading to NE next week.
I'm sure players talk and tell each other that certain cities are horrible to play in. Yes.

Yeah, one thing at a time. I'll settle for beating Detroit. I don't think we can look good enough to really expect to go to Foxboro and win.
Playoffs? Sure. Could be tied with WAS and NY and play them both. That's definitely on the table if we win Thursday.

Cox frustrates Cooter. Eagles run D sets the tone, makes the Lions one dimensional and they pressure/rattle Stafford. A clutch Sanchez interception gets the Lions an easy TD to keep it close. Demarco and Sproles get a turkey leg each after the game. Turducken for everyone.

Yeah, we give players a hard time but that's because Philly fans are REALLY into our teams. I doubt there are more than a few more knowledgable fanbases in the NFL.
There's teams that have a hard time filling the stadium. THAT'S a crappy fanbase.

I'm always optimistic, and I've been a season ticket holder for many years...me and Brandon Graham are peas in a pod this week apparently.

I stick by my statement. This fanbase can't even enjoy wins. Right now, everyone should be booing. The performance against average Miami and Tampa Bay teams was abysmal. But our fans take for granted the fact that most seasons we are in contention. We are almost never a bad team. So many fans would LOVE that for their teams, but we don't appreciate it. And the most vocal complainers disappear and don't say a word after good performances. They don't enjoy those weeks. Or, they will make calls to WYSP and belly ache that this player didn't do well or that player. I've been at the Linc and heard 'us' boo after the first possession of the game if we had to punt. Immediately putting addition pressure on the players. It would be better to have a half-empty staidium. I also witnessed huge cheers when Romo got hurt in week two. As a group, we have zero class. And it's embarrassing to get lumped into it when other fans talk about us. I've been listening to ESPN and Fantasy Sports Radio this week. I won't turn on WYSP.

They haven't won a playoff game in 7 years, bro. This isn't mid 2000's Eagles. The end of Reid's era was an abortion. Chip turned heads year one, took a step back year two and we're mired in mediocrity with 'anonymous' quotes sniping at other players.
Most people here totally appreciated the good years, but lets face it-besides being favorites many times they never got it done. it is what it is, but to expect the fan base to be content with 10-6 and 'in contention' is what I'd expect from a Falcons fan or something.

I agree with Seth, especially as it pertains to Sundays game.
When I made my prediction that we would lose it was solely based on seeing both teams attitudes. The Eagles had zero energy at all and you couldn't tell they were about to play a game. Even during the game, TB was all fired up (before it got out of hand) and the eagles sideline had nothing

Idiots who call into sports radio shows and drunks at the Linc are the worst of the worst of any fanbase.
I frequent a few other message boards, and along with this one both have MUCH longer threads about the Eagles than almost any other NFL team.
As someone else said, we are a pain in the butt, but we know our stuff. Come in here and play your a** off, and the fans will love you. That's why Brian Dawkins is a god around these parts.

During the Eagles’ 45-17 loss against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Lane Johnson heard the boos and criticisms from fans at The Linc. When asked about it today after practice, he said fans don’t give the Eagles much of a home field advantage.
“If we get down by any significant amount of points or we don’t make any first downs, we’re going to get booed,” Johnson told Birds 24/7. “That’s just kind of how it is. It’s not really home field advantage playing here anymore. Really, that’s the truth. Cats here, they really don’t care.”
Johnson said players can't respond because it's a losing battle, but added that it doesn't bother him much anymore.
"I've heard it so much since I've been here that it don't really phase me like it used to," he told Birds 24/7. "When I first got here though, I was like 'Holy sh-t.'"
The Eagles have lost their last two games — both at home — and are 2-3 in Philadelphia this season. He also talked about the fans on Sunday immediately after the game.
"Today, they weren't very polite out there," Johnson said. "That's typical of 'em. But you know, when we're losing everyone is mad. I know they're mad, they care a lot about this team. I care a lot about this team. It just sucks when we can't go out there and produce because I really want to win and bring a championship to this city one day."

The biggest takeaways IMO
A) he's not wrong, but being honest isn't smart at the moment and

Meaning what? Foles was horrible. One game all year over 200 yards. And choked ion every game where he was asked to win it with some passing. Is there a year that was ok? What does Jeff Fisher have to do with it? Fisher stared him longer than most coaches would have.
He nailed it. Of course, he'll feel backlash, but I like him more now than I did before. He tells it like it is.

Fisher signed his death wish. I would go a mile on Fisher actually making me feel more right putting faith in Keenum, but Bob can type his ### off.
Even I am getting sick of this Foles talk. It was done but Shah keeps bringing it up and getting the attention he craves. He knows he's wrong, he knows Foles sucks, let's drop it and ignore him like everyone else does so he goes away. He's not ever going to admit he's wrong and everyone else in here knows Foles isn't very good. Let's focus on the fans that actually want us to win and discuss things.

That the offense isn't really predicated around the QB. It's run first and QB throw every 3rd down kind of offense. Plus Jeff Fisher is an idiot and a lying #######. Probably told Case Keenum to rub some dirt on it when his head was slammed against the turf and he went limp as his lineman dragged him to his feet.
Probably will see Foles starting this Sunday at the least unless Case figures out where he is by then.
I know that. Steve McNair wasn't a 45 pass per game guy either. But he completed more than 50% and when needed, could make a clutch throw. Fisher is a run first guy, but he doesn't encourage horrible quarterback play. No one is criticizing Foles for not having 20 Tds or five 300 yard games. You can pass only 15 times and still play great. Or even just good.

Lane did Missinelli too. Funny Innes asked hard questions but never came off as a ####. His tone was pretty even.
Missinelli and even Anthony this morning with Fletcher Cox have this arrogance about them like they're entitled to answers from these players. I can't imagine why they have an issue with the media. Missinelli had this smug giggle he'd throw in to try to goad Lane into a bad answer. But I have a lot more respect for Lane now than I did before. He gets it.

Wrong about Foles being a great QB. Wrong about your predictions almost weekly on if the eagles win or not. Wrong about Bradford being a top 5 fantasy qb over those 3 games that you predicted. Wrong about Bortles being awful. Wrong about saying Sanchez was our better QB. You get the picture.
