This is what I was wondering, we still have the personnel is a switch back reasonable? Is there a reason alot of the league has gone 3-4 or is it just coach preferences?

Also looking at this year's draft it looks like once again we are bad in a year with no top QB talent, if I'm wrong who? I assume we go Oline stud in the 1st then bring in some retreads? I would say sign Bradford too along w the project FA.

It's not as simple as signing Bradford. You need to give him at least $18mil per year for about 2-4 year contract. As mediocre to terrible as he's been, he'll be the best available in an awful Free Agent year.

It's not as simple as signing Bradford. You need to give him at least $18mil per year for about 2-4 year contract. As mediocre to terrible as he's been, he'll be the best available in an awful Free Agent year.

That's what I figure is we will have to keep him with a Dalton/Kaep like contract with outs in it and take a risk on someone else that you hope pays off like a Tyrod.

I don't watch alot of NCAA so you might have better input but from what I've read next year's class sucks.

I also have no clue how good the QB class is but my point is that the Eagles will need to get as high a draft pick as possible and then hope for some luck in the draft. The problem is they've been a pretty good team for the past 5-6 years so they haven't been able to get that replacement for Mcnabb. Maybe Eagles fans will have to suffer for the next couple years but hopeful that results in them getting a stud QB.

Looking at that list, you really have to beat the media into submission to get respect as a QB not drafted top-5. You still hear trade rumors about Brady. He was like a hair away from selling life insurance. Wilson and Big Ben supposedly won rigs as "game managers" and one was too small. Dalton has Red hair and can't win a playoff game and doesn't have the arm strength. Romo can't win. Favre was a 2nd and traded. Kurt Warner was "BENCHED" for Matt ####### Lienart and had to bag groceries for a living. Rodgers took too many sacks. He was passed up by the 9ers(A. Smith) when he played for Cal! I can go days on bust. It's something to think about before you sign off on the next group think loved/hated QB or when we blindly think a coach with no track record at all comes and dismantle a successful teams talent again for no reason. You don't get points for bringing in players in ESPN top-100 here. We had a QB who showed more than enough to develop. We didn't have the coach that took the media onslaught for not having a QB that was preordained. We're ####ed until we find a QB. Then we need a OLine to protect that asset. An easy schedule would help after that, but anything else is icing.

They are not involved with coaching the team or anything like that (outreach program) but are there daily and get to interact with the players and have first hand knowledge of what's going on down there.

Here are some snippets of the conversation I had:

Kelly has lost most of the team. The food situation enough is pretty telling. The cafeteria is stocked with all healthy food but certain players if they are not at their target weight, have to eat prepackaged meals (in addition to the smoothies). These men HATE this. Furthermore, they take out their frustrations on the cafeteria workers. So even those people are pissed at Chip. Chip himself, if you haven't noticed is gaining quite a bit of weight. He won't eat a single vegetable and loves cheesteaks. His first year there, he was frequently scene running but no more. You remember Andy had Taco Tuesday and Fats Food Friday and Andy's a big guy. But for Chip to preach all of this nutrition stuff and be a fat slob--it's galling.

They HATE the sleep,monitor which is really a 24/7 tracking device. My friend said it's one thing for an 18-22 playing for a shot at the pros but once you're grown up and have millions these guys don't give a crap.

I asked if they thought Lurie will fire him and they said they didn't know only that you can't believe how much money Lurie poured I to changing EVRYTHING at the facility.

I remember talking to this person when Chip forts got there and they said, "I don't know how good they will be but you will not believe the shape they will be in. They removed every piece of equipment and re-fitted everything with Chip's sports science division. It evidently cost Lurie a ton.

I said my line about "not since reverened Jim Jones himself has a group of people been more duped by kool aid than the eagle fan base." They laughed and said "that's perfect, yep."

I made a Schiano comparison before the season. You can do all this controlling ####, but you'd better win.

Agreed. Put Sam under center, run Murray between the tackles and set up some play action. On the few occasions this has happened, it was successful. Offense looked better running and passing. IMO if you insist on running 100% of the offense out of the shotgun, then you are better off featuring Mathews.

In any event, the defensive scheme is a head scratcher in general as I cannot recall receivers running so wide open, with as much frequency as they have, anywhere outside of the arena league or the Big 12. Why pay the money for big, press corners and then not press cover anyone? Inexplicable from a fan's POV.

Couldn't agree more. The industry I'm in I've worked with a few. They are usually pretty chill but kinda do their own thing.

I've said this before and some have disagreed but I think it is a COLOSSAL mistake to try to train pro athletes like the military. Two completely different mind sets.
