I don't see the point in guys coming here to dance on our grave.
Ain't nobody done no damn dancing. I've seen a lot of defensive maneuvers in here at some Skins fans posts, but no bragging about the Skins at all anywhere. Check the Skins thread if you like. This thread just has too many doosch holes to have a conversation with and it all goes sideways very quickly. Open innovation to talk football in the Skins thread if anyone wants to.
the problem started because a few Skins fans came here and couldn't accept the fact that we don't miss Desean Jackson and wouldn't want him back.
I assume you're including me as one of those. Go back and read what I wrote about Jackson. It was a reply to GoBirds I believe, took issue with his opinion of what Jackson has done for the Skins. It was in no way disrespectful to him and didn't crap on the Eagles.

Why you or anyone thought that was dancing on a grave is beyond me.
I dont think he was referring to you.....it was a couple other regular trash talkers. It's all good, just some end of season frustration and a couple guys that don't get to talk trash much. It's a good thing our season was put out if it's misery....we were not winning a playoff game. Of course Chip will play to win this week, then we will miss a draft pick we want by a couple slots in April lol.
it was mostly Hang10. But he's always been an idiot. And sometime overnight, some drunk fat dude with a Polish name decided to come here and do some name calling. I assume he's a redskins fan, although I never heard of him before.
It's funny when the biggest troll on multiple boreds complains about getting trolled. :potkettle:
Exactly what I was thinking. I go to each team thread to learn and listen about the teams in the East- good or bad. This guy whines and insults people in all of them. I think he's very frustrated and angry about where he lives or something.

There's a difference between discussion and walking on graves. It may not have been as prevalent in this thread, but in the Chip thread there's Skins fans in there simply to poke the bear and rub in the loss. Not sure what the point is of coming in there for the first time of the year (hang10), to say "Chip sucks he's killed your team haha" is? If that's not trolling I'm not sure what is.

Again, go look how many eagles fans are stirring #### in Skins thread the last few years when we were better. It's the NFL, no one is ever going to be on the bottom forever or on the top forever... take the wins gracefully and celebrate your successes. Coming in here to post for literally the first time of the year does nothing to "add to the conversation and learn about the division"

Any talk in Philly about even the possibility of them cutting ties with Demarco Murray assuming Chip Kelly is back?

Probably a longshot, just wondering.
Looks like his entire in '16 contract is guaranteed so would make no sense to cut him this year. Next year he'll be gone. If they can find someone to trade for him that would be ideal but they would have to eat some of the contract to make that work.

No one will trade for him. He'll be here next year.

Why in the world not have him finish the season? Something happened we don't know about.
Because he is an awful coach who does not deserve to be in the building one more second and ownership realizes that.

They are sending a message of how bad of a leader he was and how little he knows about the NFL game.

They have to (better) have a replacement in mind.
yeah, they have to have someone in mind. Like Insein, i'm completely shocked. i honestly didn't see this coming at all

I do have one request in this thread. Let's please not clog it up with too much with crap and back and forth bickering, i would love to hear some substance with this. We can go back to the bickering and clogging of the thread in 2-3 days

I'm shocked you guys are shocked.

You could see this coming a mile away.

hmmm, example A. Please feel free to crap on whatever you want to in the Chip thread or something. would love to actually have information of substance in here for a few days

Just some speculating here - Lurie probably firmly "requested" that Chip make some changes going into next season, likely in the form of giving up some control over player personnel. Chip said "cram it" and was shown the door.

I can only speak for myself, but my shock is moreso that Lurie actually made the move, especially before the season end.

I honestly did not see this coming. I figured he would just be removed from his GM role.

I think the Browns, Lions, and 49ers should consider making contact with him.

Correct me if I am wrong, but did I not post the information and tweets first of him getting canned? So I provide info.

This is an Eagles thread, the Eagles coach got fired. This is to be discussed by many not just Eagles fans.

This isnt about you Eagles fans, the quicker you guys get that he better off this thread will be.

This is about the Eagles and the coach getting fired.

Please stop taking truthful comments about your team personally, that is in part of why this thread is a mess.

i would think it has to be something similar to this too. Maybe Lurie gave up a bit letting Chip getting all the control last year with the idea of saying this will make or break it. I don't think this is purely on Chip not doing the job. Would absolutely love to see him come back as an OC, but really doubt that happens

Thats understandable. He was a good coach when he had an actually football minds (Fat Andy) players, when he got his own, not so much.

The Peters thing is what did it. The locker room was lost.
hmm, interesting with this. I guess Lurie saw the writing on the wall, and to be honest with that wonderful 20/20 hindsight, you could see some signs. One that is glaring to me is that Pats game when all you heard about was how the players were inspired by Lurie speaking to them in the locker room. Not something that usually has to be the owner.

Would love to look at all the random rumours from the season and past off-season and see what actually may be true. Maybe Chip really is racist :P

ETA: i wonder if Chip lied to Lurie about speaking with college programs?

He was clearly given way too much power and control well before he could handle it. Not to mention his ridiculously large ego led to so many stupid decisions and too much stubbornness. It sucks now thinking back to how exciting it was when he got here, but his act became played out and now I'm anxious to see who'll be leading this next chapter.

This is a great thing for the Eagles. They got rid of him before he could completely destroy this team.

Now I am interested to see who they bring in. Cowher anyone? :P

How could they not give him one more year? Trolls aside, even if you dislike Chip you can't say he destroyed the team that badly. Really wanted to see what he could do next year, I'm worried we are going to be worse off totally starting from scratch.

I really hope we end up hearing what went down.

From 98 page thread last year to currently 188 pager this year. Both started a few days after week 17. I'm sure the quoted blocks helped boost that, but double the pages is crazy ahha

about to hit 10 000 by tomorrow probably :P

Not that roto is gospel, but they think it too or the guy doing the write up did.

Eagles fired coach/GM Chip Kelly.

VP of Player Personnel Ed Marynowitz has also been fired. The Eagles announced the moves themselves, issuing a terse press release. The announcement isn't stunning in and of itself, but the timing is. It suggests deep discord between the two sides after Kelly made a mess of his roster after winning a power struggle for personnel duties last winter. Kelly produced 10-win campaigns in each of his first two years on the job, but gutted his roster with questionable moves last spring that resulted in an imperfect defense and deeply dysfunctional offense. As a general manager, Kelly seemed to be making it up as he went along. As a coach, he struggled to connect with his players as men, turning many off with confidence that blurred with hubris. The prevailing scuttlebutt had been that Kelly would return to college if canned, but all the big openings have been filled. If Kelly wants another shot at the NFL, the Titans and Dolphins might be his two most logical landing places.

He lost the team. I believe it's really as simple as that.

Too many rumors around unhappy players, ones who didn't want to play hurt and many looked like they stopped playing. The Peters thing was the straw that broke the camels back
