***Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs thread : Pens raise the cup for 4th time in franchise history*** (1 Viewer)

Gotta wonder if the linesmen are seeing the game as well as they should. The Backes intentional offside and that recent Hawks face-off that should have been in the zone were questionable at best.

Chicago totally dominant. Panik from a stretch pass with a pretty spin move to Toews to van Riemsdyk and it's tied.

3-3.

Elliott chant going.

That feeling when all of your nightmares from years gone by are returning after you thought they were gone.

God ####### dammit.
No offense, but they couldn't have been gone until the buzzer blew for the fourth win. And I'm sort of pulling for the Blues, if not neutral at best.

Weise with a sick hit and finish. Big time play.

Need to drive a stake through the heart of the champs when you get the chance. The Sharks finally did it to the Kings.

That said, how was that not interference on Weise decking Shattenkirk right before the goal?

I have to question stopping play for getting hit with a big shot in the chest protector. Don't like that. Probably does nothing for the outcome, but it seems Crawford is taking some liberties this series with that stuff.

Pathetic 2nd period by the Blues.  Up 2, with a chance to eliminate your rival, and you play like that?  Way to get the team ready, Hitchcock.

Yeah, I don't get that at all.  Team needs to call a timeout if they want play stopped.

Like I said, the nightmares of old are coming back. I thought this was a different Blues team and I thought this was a different Hawks team. Wrong on both counts.

The Blues were lucky to be up 3-1. Tons of defensive breakdowns in the 1st, some awful turnovers, and some lucky breaks.  Their passes aren't crisp at all tonight.  Looks like they had a couple days of really ####ty practice.

Heh. No, it's just that we protect the head and blow dead injuries for certain things, but Crawford has lost a helmet and done other stuff. We don't immediately blow a play dead for injury. Look, it just struck me as a bit questionable. Nothing earth-shattering.

eta* For all I know, the guy could have shattered his clavicle or something like that. It's just something to watch for.

How did he pronounce it?  Peter Angelo? That's how it was pronounced when his uncle played for the Pens.
That is not how it is pronounced now, and it is sad that NBC's top analyst can't pronounce it correctly considering he has been a really good NHL defenseman for years now.

Hawks winning being called "same old same old" is something I never thought I'd experience in my lifetime.  I still can't believe I saw one championship, let alone 3 (or more).  Makes me so damn happy.
Was also referring to the Blues penchant for committing suicide in the playoffs.

You think being a Hawks fan was tough? Try being teased year after year after year after year after year after year after mother ####### #### sucking year by being a Blues fan. I can't ####### stand it anymore.

Fair play to the Hawks. They were down 3-1 and it looked like all Blues, and then they took advantage when the Blues thought they could park the damn bus in the 2nd. There's a reason they're the defending champs.

Horrendous coaching, horrendous play, and Elliott should seriously consider filing an OSHA complaint against his teammates after tonight. In spite of all the hullabaloo about the refs early on, the Blues will have no one to blame but themselves for taking a nice fat #### on Monday night and reminding St. Louisans how addicted we are to misery year after ### #### year.

Where's Willy Wonka to tell me "YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!" when you need him? Ah, here he is.

Yep, Hitchcock can suck a fat #### for all I care.

Tarasenko gets only 16 minutes of ice time??

The whole team plays that flat in the 2nd period again

Give a lot of credit to the Hawks organization ...they gotta be thrilled with the contributions from all their new players (including late pick-ups Ladd and Weiss).

Heckuva play-off series.

What a game. Went with my daughter.

St Louis guys:  what is the row on the glass?  A?  Looking at game 7 tix.  TIA

Pens in 5 just like I called. I admit I got my hopes up following game 2 when the Pens played crappy for some reason, but the rest of the series was the team I didn't want to play as we went down the stretch. Congrats to them, they're a definite contender.

I guess being put out of my misery early is a bright side.

Going to St Louis tomorrow.  Just got tix but not on glass--15 rows back between circle and blue line in the end where the Hawks shoot twice.

Honestly, I watched that hawks blues game and watched the sharks outplay the kings and im not sure a team in the east has a chance. Just so much speed and skill. And for how great the Caps were this year, they dont look like any of those western conf teams. Its a shame blues hawks was a first round match up. I would say, at this point, Pens have the only chance. But playing an awful team in the first round, it's tough to tell

Western teams are probably better but it's a tough slog through the conference.  That helps to equal things out a little.

So if I see a car driving around with $$$ just flying out the window, then I'll know who it is, right?

Don't have a good feeling about today. Think the whole Caps choking talk is overrated. Much of the same from last game but don't think Neuvirth is as good.

Guess he is fine with letting Giroux cancel out Ovies line and doesn't trust the other lines but would be nice to see them out versus another line.

Maybe because Ovies line is just absolutely dominant when they want. Backstrom, Oshie, and Ovie. Yow.

That's a line.
