*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (4 Viewers)

I’m not hype for Sproles and not against it (yet anyway) for a few reasons. I think having veteran leaders is important, Doug wanted him back, and we won the SB
Feel the same way.  I'm happy Darren is back but I don't think he's a huge difference maker anymore.  He's solid and will help, but like others have said his leadership is the most important thing and I'd love to see him on the field for another SB run.

i am thinking Wentz, Sproles, and Peters earned the right to be on the field for the Super Bowl. Hicks too, but Sproles and Peters are long in the tooth, i am sure Doug wants them on the field when they make the run this year.

by the way Vegas odds are out for win totals. Eagles are set at 10.5 wins next season. i think that is dopey

Ya i posted all the win totals last week.  There's a bunch of us at 10.5 and that's the highest number out there.

I see us at 11.5 so I'd take the over.

So which Football Jones take is dumber, the current “Dallas has the best personnel department in the NFL” or last year’s “Dak is better than Wentz because he scores more rushing TDs”?

The way I look at it is that Peters, Sproles, and Long are worth their weight in gold as leaders. If they can bring anything in the way of on the field productivity you must secure their return
I'm in that boat and why I don't mind taking him back in that regard. To me Sproles IMHO whatever he gives you on the field is added dressing. However I'm not jumping up and down hype like some are. To me this is like the Eagles having a slew of Safeties or LBs and Bring back Trotter/Dawkins on the downside of their careers. Ok they are back but really it's more as locker room leaders then it is to be on the field all the time. Sproles is well past his prime. I can see maybe wanting a security blanket in the return game and if that's what he's there for I'm still ok with it. I don't want another season we had in Andy's time where we went a whole year without a guy who can't return kicks.

They both hold their wait in gold. His takes are always entertaining. I'm waiting for him to try and convince us how Jason Garret is the better HC though.

I've been enjoying all this Rico Gathers talk lately as well

You know that’s coming the next time the Eagles lose a game in which they went for it on 4th and failed. Might not be for another 3 to 5 years, but it’s coming.

kudos to you guys trying to fight the logic fight in the Philly screwed Dallas thread. Don't have the energy for it, i can only do those in waves.

They haven't mentioned the one thing Dallas and their fans ARE the best at and that's telling everyone just how great they are. They have been largely irrelevant in the playoffs for decades, and the Eagles' female canine companion,  but they're the best at drafting players who win the NFL's annual  popularity contest.

Nick Foles has more playoff wins then the Cowboys during that time too. Blake Bortles does as well. Tim Tebow I believe has as many wins as Dal in the playoffs over that time. Let that all sink in.

The last time Dal was relevant...
David Akers was spot-on with the quip about the draftees not being born yet the last time the Cowboys were relevant. For any fan under the age of 33, the Eagels have always been better than the Cowboys.  I mean the Eagles won some championships in the '60s but you don't see us going on about it.

We won titles before the 60s and our GM I believe or what he owner Bell invented the NFL Draft. You don't see us bragging about it

Akers lives out our dreams by trolling the Cowboys on the greatest stage possible. THEIRS! Cowboys are clearly irrelevant. Done. Let it go!

Am about to go face my fear and voluntarily jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet.  If I don't make it, thanks for all the great Eagles moments and at least I got to see us win a title in my lifetime! :P

YES!!!!!!

Didn't even see this!  So excited for this!
We also Signed Joe Callahan

Eagles expected to sign QB Joe Callahan, source says. The Absecon (NJ) native was waived by the Packers on Monday. Eagles also explored signing JT Barrett before he signed with the Saints. With Carson Wentz iffy for the preseason, Callahan could get plenty of reps.

4:18 PM - May 2, 2018

Callahan was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Division III Wesley College following the 2016 draft. That fall, he played most of the snaps during the preseason at quarterback due to Aaron Rodgers sitting out and Brett Hundley nursing an injury. He made the opening-week 53-man roster as a rookie, but was waived and claimed by the New Orleans Saints a few weeks later. After stops in the Bayou and in Cleveland, Callahan returned to the Packers’ practice squad late that season.

In 2017, Callahan fought with Taysom Hill for the #3 job, again behind Rodgers and Hundley, seemingly losing that battle. However, both he and Hill were released at the end of camp, and this time it was Hill who landed with the Saints on waivers. Callahan returned to the Packers’ practice squad once again before being elevated to the active roster as Hundley’s backup when Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone.

Following the Packers’ trade for DeShone Kizer this offseason, Callahan received a league-minimum salary on an exclusive-rights free agent tender as the team’s fourth quarterback. However, the team’s impending agreement with undrafted rookie Tim Boyle from Eastern Kentucky made Callahan expendable.

Have fun. I heard it's a great experience. Both my brother and cousin have done it in the last 5 yrs. Both survived in case you were wondering.  :D

True.  I love Wheaton though.  Am a big Oregon State fan and go to a game every year so have met him a couple times back in his college days.
I'd be very surprised if he makes the final 53 though - we're probably better putting a young guy at the 5th WR spot to grow then a struggling vet.

probably depends on how he looks in camp. I figure you have 4 locks with Jeffrey, Wallace, Agholar and Hollins. I don't think they brought any new WRs in this off-season (maybe an undrafted WR, they seem to bring in a lot of those)

Mike Wallace was signed

yeah, and I think he will be the starting wideout that was why I got him in the guaranteed 4. I am thinking Agholar will play some outside too since he has talked about it, could see Goedhert come in and maybe line up in the slot or go 2 TE set, and Agholar on the outside.

Eagles got a lot of weapons, will be interesting to see how it plays out

Sorry, skipped right over him in your guaranteed 4, guess I was thinking there was someone else in that group left over from last year

I'm curious to see Hollins' development this year.  They seemed pretty high on him last year.
