*Official 2018 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles* - Tough way to go out. Magic finally gone. (2 Viewers)

Rough game.  Liked the fight back in the fourth but too little too late.  I fault the defense.  Those two long tds are unacceptable

Pretty quiet game thread and thread here today.  It's hard to get excited or really angry about today's matchup I guess.  Just seems meh.  Really hope Carson comes back next week.  We need a spark in the locker room and on offense.  Will be nice to be back home and hopefully this kicks the team in the ### a little bit.  Just can't overcome those two bombs at the start of the game.

Hopefully we have everyone healthy this week, the injuries seemed concerning.  Bring on Indy, hope it's a cold day in Philly.

I think Carson is magically cleared to play this week. Not that Foles has been bad. It's just time.
Yep, perfect time to transition back to the franchise QB. Foles will always be a legend in Philly and was the best fill in of all time but these last couple games are a great reminder he isn't Went and their clearly isn't any controversy at QB.

Drove by RayJay on way to the airport.  Parking lot looked like an Eagles home game.  I hated the loss, but loved seeing all the fans.

Pretty rough.  Kept feeling like they would come back.  Honestly, other than the 2 big breakdowns, it wasn’t that bad. Losing peters was pretty rough at the beginning. I guess foles was under some pressure late too, but did a great of job of moving.  I am surprised by the outcome and surprised by fitz keeping it up.  That critical third down conversion where mills was on djax was just bad strategy.  I look forward to having a healthy team.

Jesus, did they literally watch no tape from last week?
frustrating game for sure and some blame to go around. Put in perspective though, when you have 1 of your top 4 WRs healthy, your top 2 RBs hurt, along with OT and Foles it is hard to put a ton of blame on the team. To be honest, i have always been a little more down on Ertz then most in here, but i think what we are seeing is closer to what the real Ertz is.

Doug doesn't get a free pass either. All these injuries in your skill positions, how the hell do you not find a way to incorporate the guy you traded up in the 2nd round for? Maybe Goedart was out there, but i don't remember seeing him at all.

and defensively, Eagles were 31st in variance last year. Meaning, they were  the most unpredictable from game to game, with some great one's, and some terrible one's. Was hoping it would be a bit better, and maybe it will as the season goes on, but it wasn't a total surprise

Not even sure it's the CB's fault tbh.  How many time we see the same #### ahgain and again, biting on double moves and getting burnt deep for big gains.  think this might just be the defensive liability - sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Jalen Mills is overmatched at CB.  He should be at safety.

Wallace injury is concerning.  We don't have that deep threat (Gibson is supposed to be, did he even get any snaps?). Agholor is good but needs help, he can't be the only guy.

Maybe we should trade for Gordon after all :(

Although as much as people like to talk about addressing a need during the season - it never really works out. We're gonna Gibson to step up for a deep threat.

I guess winning a Super Bowl with our back up QB spoiled us, but we have to remember how bad Green Bay was without Rodgers. And Dallas the year Romo went out early.  The Eagles are playing without the league MVP (was a shoe-in at the point he was injured last year).  Bottom line is, the Eagles are still respectable playing with a backup quarterback. Looks like the Bucs are for real and Atlanta is a contender as well. 1-1 isn't terrible. As others have stated, the defensive mental lapses have to stop. You give up two 75 yard touchdown passes and it doesn't matter who your quarterback is. Hopefully Schwartz has an answer.

Just like last year, it's good to have this kind of loss early on. The KC game last year we had many chances to win and just made too many mental errors to get it done. Same with this TB game. Doug can hopefully use this as a talking point for his players to tell them to wake the F up. The super bowl is over. This season has started.

No thanks to Gordon.  I hope he has cleaned his act up but that guy is just toxic.

I would've hoped my man crush Goedert would've started kicking ### by now.

As odd as it sounds I"m not really sweating this loss.  This team is still not intact.  Granted, the sloppiness is concerning.  Coach Doug needs to clean that up in a hurry.

The Calvary is almost here.  Really sounds like Wentz is suiting up this Sunday.  May be Jeffery  does too.

Since the reports are Gordon is still clean, I want him here now. Just imagine Gordon and Alshon on opposite sides with Nelson in the slot and Ertz and Goedert at TE. What the hell would a defense do?

I'd have less of a problem bringing in Gordon than I did when they acquired Michael Bennett.  Sign him with a stipulation about any failed tests or other attendance issues. Little risk but high reward.

I was initially against this but now not so much as long as he's clean. What's the worst that could happen? He certainly won't wreck this team's chemistry--too many strong leaders here.

I'm pretty sure the TD by Desean was due to blown coverage/poor execution by Malcolm Jenkins. You could see on the replay that Jenkins correctly went to Desean's side of the field but for some reason he went underneath the pass, almost like he was expecting Desean to run a shorter route. There were no other receivers on that side of the field so he had no excuse for not playing the deep pass. Seemed like he just guessed on the route and was way off. Mills looked at him after the play like he was expecting inside help from Jenkins and it just wasn't there.

Normally I’d say no but we can’t roll out Gibson, Aiken, Carter and Perkins. Biggest worry with Gordon is that he doesn’t seem to give a #### about football. Doesn’t matter how much talent you have if you don’t want to be there.

Also, people will mention him needing a change of scenery. There’s noting going on in or even around Cleveland. If this dude is that fragile he can’t play in a major city.

Wentz is back. Thanks Nick. Love ya for life but it's Carson time.
Hopefully we avoided the dreaded QB controversy the national media predicted would happen in Philly.  Like you said, love ya Nick but you did your job now sit down.  The offensive struggles aren't all Foles' fault but the QB change isn't exactly coming at a time when the offense is humming along putting up 30+.

Anyone stop to consider the difference in what Foles could have signed for with another team after his playoff hot streak/Super Bowl MVP and right now after his preseason showing and two more regular games as the starter?

He didn't have that option though, he was under contract.  Also don't think anyone was under the impression he could consistently do that.  He's a very high variance player - and his numbers yesterday weren't bad.  35-48, 334 yds and 1 TD.  72% completion, 98.8 passer rating.  With the WR's we put out, that isn't bad.  We lost by 6 points, and of all the stats, the only one that is really BAD for the eagles is Fitzpatrick's stat line. We made him look like Tom Brady - and it wasn't just those 2 long plays, he was hitting 15 yard posts up the middle regularly.

BREAKING: The Eagles are now even-money favorites to acquire Josh Gordon. Updated odds via @betmybookie: Eagles EVEN 49ers +200 Chiefs +300 Cowboys/Buccaneers +500 Patriots/Jets +800 Any Other Team +1000

HAs anyone from the Eagles organization even mentioned this?  Or is this speculation from fan websites?

We don't need Gordon. The defense stops one of those long tds yesterday and we win that game.
Not piling on, but Tampa made their fair share of mistakes that let the Eagles hang around too.  It could have been an ugly final score.  You can always play the what if game both ways.

Very true. T.B. Has a couple opportunities to really put the boots to us yesterday.

I do feel good with the way we ended though considering how much we were missing on the offensive side of the ball

Josh Gordon anyone?
Deer God no. I said this to a buddy of mine but if it was just weed I'd be all for it but now this guy has an issue with not being truthful about how he got hurt, late for injury treatment and I think I read one of the other reasons he was in rehab was for a drinking issue and not just weed. He's had numerous chances in Cleveland. I know we all love to pile on them just like we love to Jurrah but you can't fault the Browns for saying enough is enough. He's lucky because I'd have gotten rid of him 2 yrs ago. I'd rather take Dez because I think Dez issues are quite similar character wise as Jeffrey. I also think Wentz is a better style QB for Dez as well who'd go up and get it and Carson will find him. I think Dez could put up career highs if given the chance here on a similar deal as ALshon first got in FA an offseason Prior. Plus Dez wants to play in the Division and show Dal how wrong they were on him.

As for Gordon I think there's just too many enablers for him in football. My advice to him would be either retire from Football or let Cleveland cut you and take the rest of this year off. Focus on you mentally and physically until you can get yourself straight. Come back for FA19 and show everyone you've change. If you have to be willing to take the 1yr prove it deal and if you perform well and your team likes you maybe they'll extend you or another team will sign you to a long term deal after. Josh needs to focus on himself mentally and physically right now and nothing more.

I was more so trying to get ready for work during the game and watching it. I didn't get home till late last night. Saw the final two mins at work. Any updates of JP, Corey, Nelson and others who got injured yesterday?

I'm more angry then anything over yesterday. Besides the big plays we outplayed them. Fitzpatrick (Man it feels good to type that without being censored like my old forum) throwing for 4TDs and over 300yds is unacceptable. I love the guy and he's definately one of those athletes people should be inspired by but there is no excuse the #1 defense from last year should give up that many YDS to him. I saw Hicks and Mills take blame for the big plays which is what I love about these guys. No finger pointing just accept responsibility. We should've won that game. That missed FG by Jake before the Half I think did us in as well in the second half. Because instead of needing a TD at the end we could've been playing for a FG to tie at the very least.

I agree also Jenkins is very aggressive Safty and bites on the fakes all the time. He was out of position on the first play and it looked like Mills thought he had Safety help behind him on that play. Jenkins bit big time on the PA on that first play.

Wasn't rumors had it he turned down a trade offer this year because he wanted to stay here? Nick also mentions in his book one of the deciding factors coming back to Philly wasn't just Pederson and knowing the organization but his daughter Lilly was gonna be born soon and his wife and him wanted a good environment for her to grow up in. Based on that I could see Nick resigning here for less to keep his family from moving again. They seem to love it here and no matter what he does on the field he's immortalized here forever and that's something you can't take away.

Maybe we should wait till Winston comes back. I said in the GD Thread I think TB is a much better team with Fitz at QB then Winston because of how inconsistent Winston is and plus he's never out of the lime light with his legal issues.

Gordon is heading to the Patriots.  Damn.
probably best place for him but NE seems like they are in desperation mode. Outside of Chris Hogan who is a #3 at best at WR and Gronk they have very little receiving options outside of their RBs. Plus we all know how business like NE is so if Gordon can't hack it there he's done
