My FBG / Classic / My Contest Nicknameany ways to rename an entry? did this a long time ago, so I dont know if they took that feature away and I'm stuck with the name I chose or what
I think you are looking at a best case of 60/40 carries and 80/20 receptions in Henderson's favor, and you're assuming Gurley is or will become definitively toast.I am really torturing myself over the Rams backfield for this contest. I think Gurley gave us a prelude to 2019 at the end of 2018. I don't trust a single word from the Rams staff, other than he ran fast one time in shorts and a t-shirt, in a straight line. I also don't think any specific injury caused him to derail, rather it was a cumulative effect finally catching up to him. He played 190 snaps from weeks 13-15, which were the most in a 3 game span in his entire career. Does that sound like something a team would do to a star RB that was injured in his previous game? I think Gurley will be a weekly game time decision, based on how bad his knee feels/flares up.
That being said, I think Brown's $4 is a better value than Henderson's $15. It just comes down to simple math - when Gurley hits the wall, will Henderson get an 80/20 share of the fantasy points? I don't think so. In a redraft league, I will be targeting Henderson and Brown, but I hate cuffing for the contest. That's the safe play, and safe doesn't get it done. So, to answer your question in a long-winded post - Yes, I think Henderson will outscore Brown, but not by a 80/20 ratio.
I'd take Andrews ahead of Eifert, but at the moment I can't refuse Olsen because of the upside of Andrews.I do like Olsen and Walker to start the season but I have doubts they last long into the season. Witten will be solid but unspectacular. And I just don't even understand how people are still drafting Eifert. I just don't get it. I would take any of the three bolded younger guys over any of the older ones. And it isn't close for me. All three are likely to explode this year (by TE standards).
- Yes, I am predicting Gurley's demise this year. But alas, I have no nutsack and have chosen not to roster either Henderson or Brown on my most recent entry (which I will post very soon).I think you are looking at a best case of 60/40 carries and 80/20 receptions in Henderson's favor, and you're assuming Gurley is or will become definitively toast.
Then again its only $4.
But I'd rather spend $4 on Pollard or Uzama or maybe even Gore. Jaron Brown was my secret sauce until he got cut lol.
I think you're spending too much on your rb1. Hes an injury waiting to happen.Trying to free up $6 for a 3rd defense. Have 3 QB with Stafford as the cheapest, could replace him with Jones to free up $6, or could just drop Mattison (RB #6, handcuffing Cook) for $6. I could always make a bunch of small changes, but these are the most obvious.
Currently have:
QB - 3x - $35
RB - 6x - $88
WR - 6x - $63
TE - 3x - $46
K - 3x - $10

Thanks. Absolutely know I'm bucking history with Hockenson. I think, in my brief glimpses, that he's that good. Otherwise it's a wasted tenner. I fully am sold on Waller/Herndon as a combo. I welcome the KC backfield and am dumping Monty for Darwin for the five dollars. That way I've got 2/3 of the backfield of a juggernaut. DWill has soft tissue issue and even though I rostered him in another league, I don't think I'm quite the believer yet.I'm not sure about Hockenson. WRs are interesting. Makes me feel better about mine.
Not sure I'd buy into the KC backfield

I’d think to free up $9-12 from K/D and upgrade Jacobs or McCoy. I’m just not excited about Oak Rb. Just thinking you could get a stud RB2 with less risk than those 2. Your low dollar RBs on there are good value, popular picksNew team:

This is gonna be the pot calling the kettle black, because I just posted mine. I think if you are gonna go so thin at WR, you need to choose more consistent performers. Davante is a weekly stud, but Amari puts up duds too often. It continued in Dallas, and his foot injury (strain) has me a little worried. As for Watkins, he hasn't played a full season since his rookie year in 2014. I also chose Gordon as my WR4, but realistically just hoping for a few great games. Cooper, Watkins, and Gordon are the types of players that will win you this contest, but without the consistency, getting to the finals will be the hard part.WR - Davante Adams - GB/11 - $33
WR - Amari Cooper - DAL/8 - $24
WR - Sammy Watkins - KC/12 - $15
WR - Josh Gordon - NE/10 - $6
I was going to say we posted at the exact same time and have some similarities though I went high dollar at QB, you did at TE.First time posting a submission in a while

Winston has been on every entry so far, but have swapped out backups a few times. In the end, I went back to my original duo. In a perfect world, the 7 bolded players will account for my weekly scores, so I spent quite a bit on them. IMO Duke is a no-brainer for $9, and I am ecstatic they signed Hyde, who is not as much of a threat as other RB's they could've brought in. With Shady headed to KC, Singletary will outdistance Gore as the season rolls on. I chose him more for the end of the contest than the beginning. Gordon is another must-own. Too much upside to let a $6 WR pass by. Can afford to wait on Herndon with Kelce - maybe a flex on a rare occasion. I am fine with the bye week conflict at kicker, as I believe both would've been at least $5 if Dodds had known who the starter was going to be. Could only afford 2 low-priced D's, but I am a firm believer that matchups are just as important as the D's you choose. If I manage to make it to the end, the NYG/NYJ combo faces MIA, MIA, and WAS in weeks 14-16. Overall, would love to have more depth, but I chose guys who I thought would be consistent weekly scorers.
My thought exactly. I ended up spending $198 on my 10 "projected" starters = 79.2% of budget. I really should try to scrap together a few bucks for a WR5 though. I guess I could change from Herndon to Uzomah at TE - that would free up $4 for a flier.I was gong to say we posted at the exact same time and have some similarities though I went high dollar at QB, you did at TE.
My strategy this year is to spend ~ 80% on ‘starting lineup’ so is similar to what you say above.
Here's some strange(?) logic...Zeke, if signed, has demonstrated that he will get all the snaps, but Singletary has not, and may hit the proverbial rookie wall, so if I spend $12 rather than $8 I lock up Buffalo's run game (minus of course the vulturing effect that Allen has on TDs).- Pollard becomes useless when Zeke signs. Rod Smith was Zeke's backup and only $3 in last year's contest - he scored a whopping 17.3 points... in the entire 16 weeks. Money better spent on an extra K or D, or to upgrade an existing player.
- Gore is cheap, but that backfield belongs to Singletary. Gore will cede touches, until he is basically useless by midseason. I will be rostering Devin for sure, and I don't want multiple RB's from the same team. To me, that's playing not to lose, instead of to win.
All the players listed are in the group of players that others have hyped but that I have no particular reason to roster on my squad. I'm supposed to be interested in them, but I'm not.New team:

Cool. I'll take it as fair criticism. I happen to acutally like these guys. The only groupthink going on here is Waller. The rest are just pretty darn good players for fantasy, IMO.All the players listed are in the group of players that others have hyped but that I have no particular reason to roster on my squad. I probably shouldn't have included Jacobs in my "turned off by the hype" list...he has a ridiculous opportunity to get ALL the touches in a Gruden led attack (see Cadillac Williams)...I just haven't been able to hold my nose and keep his name on my roster.Cool. I've been back and forth on the percentage issue. Currently running 67%, reasoning that with two flex starters I want more depth than popular opinion. Rostering 22 at the moment. My thought exactly. To your first point, I liken my thought process to the FBG playoff contest. You had to choose players you thought would start the playoffs strong to get you through week 1. If you had taken all NE/KC/NO/LAR players, you would not have made it to week 2. You had to try to squeak by week 1 to get to your studs. Gore qualifies as a week 1 squeaker, as I think he will be worth it when the season begins, but will lose value. Singletary may not be worth his $8 from the onset, but will increase in value as the season moves forward. I will trust my other 4 RB's to carry me until Singletary starts putting up usable games, which makes Gore unneeded. Here's some strange(?) logic...Zeke, if signed, has demonstrated that he will get all the snaps, but Singletary has not, and may hit the proverbial rookie wall, so if I spend $12 rather than $8 I lock up Buffalo's run game (minus of course the vulturing effect that Allen has on TDs).
The case for Pollard comes down to whether or not Kellen Moore is incrementally more intelligent than Jason Garrett and his offensive coordinators before him and realizes it makes sense to design some plays for Pollard and get him 6-10 touches per game. The jury is out but I'd like to think Moore can pass this very low bar.
The only way this happens is if you get locked in a room with no electronics for the next 60 hoursMaaaaybe my final entry.
shhhhh let people make the big mistake of rostering him
Here's how I see popular concensus in the contest thread versus my beliefs....shhhhh let people make the big mistake of rostering him
There I was, admiring my current submission and eating a bowl of cheerios. Then someone came in and peed all over them.shhhhh let people make the big mistake of rostering him
Nah. with risk comes opportunity. Lots of folks, including staff, have high projections for Winston. Just not me. #rememberthecrablegsThere I was, admiring my current submission and eating a bowl of cheerios. Then someone came in and peed all over them.

You probably nailed it. Maybe a cheap QB like jones will be popular as people seem to like a cheap 3rd QB. Thompson will be up there with Duke. I will include a few mid price guys:Only 32 hours left to deadline. Can't wait to start using this year's contest querier. Time to guess which player at each position will be the most owned...

I am proud to say I only have the bottom 3 rostered. I have a better qb, Much better rb and wr in those same price rangesOnly 32 hours left to deadline. Can't wait to start using this year's contest querier. Time to guess which player at each position will be the most owned...

I'm intrigued. Does better mean higher ceiling, higher floor, both?Much better rb and wr in those same price ranges
My expected ceiling for Gordon isnt very high, and depending who you talk to Gordon's ceiling is so high it's unreasonable, so I'll just say theres a wr I think just does better overall than GordonI'm intrigued. Does better mean higher ceiling, higher floor, both?
