***Official 2025 Pro Cycling Thread*** - This year a Grand Prize!!! (5 Viewers)

In for whatever races we do. Entered a squad for the Omloop on Saturday. Not really sure how to approach building a squad for one day races.

horses for courses kind of thing, but 1-shot by nature is riskier - crash or mechanical can happen to anyone no

likely will be a steep learning curve for most (if not all) of us

luck is part of the charm

Thought for you guys. Instead of doing velogames for the Classics, how about we do the TdF coverage contest where each person picks one rider no duplicates for the races Bobby mentioned. 3 pts for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd. Rotate the pick order. If there are 6 of us, do 12 races.

Maybe a dumb idea but might reduce some of the luck and research.

It appears there are 2 races this weekend. Do we have chose a new team on Saturday? I’m already exhausted with all the research I did for the OmL0øǒoõp

Only if the riders you pick for Saturday aren't also racing Sunday. Anybody doubling up doesn't need to be changed unless you want to change. There appear to be overlap with a lot of riders.

Team Vizma/LAB for example have 5 riders competing in both:

Saturday:
Team Visma | Lease a Bike (WT)

Sunday:
Team Visma | Lease a Bike (WT)

For example, my current line up has 4 riders scheduled to be in both races. So I'll need to change at least 2 guys (one isn't entered and one where the Team isn't participating in the 2nd race).

Guess it's safe since it's a friendly competition (i.e. no money involved! LOL). From this website, that I believe somebody in the bike racing threads has referenced previously:

Can one of you inner web wizards post who is riding in both races? And do we know if we can change riders between sat and Sunday?

And where is this handy dandy list of who’s riding both races?

Cheesey would you mind just setting my rooster? Thanks in advance.

I had to go to each race individually and look at the start lists and compare. I'm not aware of place that compares start lists head to head. Maybe Sammy's site has that info.

Yes, you'll be able to change. I believe once the entries for Saturday's race closes, Sunday's race entry will open.
Don't you think it will be after Saturday's race is scored?
I'm not sure. I was just theorizing that Sunday's entries will open when Saturday's close. Entirely possible I'm wrong and you're correct.

Pre-Game Team Changes

Each directeur can select, and then make unlimited changes to, their squad of six riders prior to the entry deadline for the first race of the season, Omloop Nieuwsblad. The entry deadline for Omloop Nieuwsblad is set at 10:00 CET (Central European Time) on Saturday 1st March 2025.

Once the deadline has passed, each directeur's team selection is "locked in" and cannot be changed while the race is in progress - any subsequent changes will only take effect at the deadline for the next race in the series.

In-Game Team Changes

Velogames Superclasico Fantasy Sixes 2025 allows directeurs to change their roster of six riders between races, in order to keep their team competitive throughout the season.

Velogames directeurs can make unlimited changes to their six rider squad in between each event.

Team changes become effective at the next upcoming deadline for the following race - at which point each team selection is "locked in" and cannot be changed while the race is in progress - any subsequent changes will only take effect at the deadline for the next race in the series.

And next weekend will also see the start of the Velogames Fantasy Cycling Stage Race Championship 2025 -with both Velogames Fantasy Paris-Nice and Velogames Fantasy Tirreno-Adriatico set to start in quick succession.

so glad I swapped out Magnier for Asgreen at the last minute

whose stupid idea was this?

I swapped him out late too. I actually had a lineup with four dollars left on the table and ended up moving a couple riders down to get wall Vanart into the lineup.

Great showing by the Squeaky Wheels:
Jorgenson - 50
Wellens - 44
Navraez - 41
Naesen - 21
Campenaerts - 130
Bissegger - 24
