Which is a perfect setup, considering how Strand has Nick being his right hand guy/gopher who will seemingly do anything asked of him.

Now knowing that the boat is swimming distance from the shore as it is, why didn't Strand swim for it after they shot out his raft?  I get waiting a few minutes so that they think you are down and dead, but to stay cemented in that one spot with hypothermia overcoming you is asinine.

Yeah, but you can't really masturbate while watching this program unless maybe you record it and then pause it when she looks especially hot.

I am not sure looking at her is enough of a good reason in which to continue watching the show.

 
Finally watched this last night.  Still dont understand the big question of why did Strand need any of them to start with?   So many plot holes in this show just makes it maddening.

It doesn't although it does get silly when you know they felt like they had to surprise us with it and make sure we knew. Why is that a big reveal?

100% correct on the wet clothes, almost a dumb question to ask as he wants to make sure he stays camoflauged. We saw the rain scene in TWD, which I am now 100% sure Druggie Depp has seen as well.

I think the reveal is he's somehow connected to some kind of Mexican cartel (through his sweet sweet, kisses).  I still don't fully understand what they're doing there...owning land, but clearly some criminal element going on.  I'm sure there's more to come in a severe tangent.  :headbash:

 
btw- I love how airlines annie works her way through those ridiculous commercial spots, survives a plane-crash, and then gets cut loose in the middle of the pacific. that would be a brilliant and perfect TWD-world end to her.

It was pretty obvious there was a connection between them. I think they are a rich family (they developed that housing tract where Depp went) with a bit of a shady underbelly (the brother clearly killed before). I don't know if the real estate was from drug money, but it sounds like Mexico is sort of safe since it is hard to get into it. I assume the plan was always to get back to that secure estate.

This also answers why Strand was always referring to things not as his. They all are his lover's property.

Character ruined.  Sorry.  Total worthless shock factor.  No reason to bring up sexual preference at all, but since they decided to, they take their best and most seemingly bad ### character and make him gay.  Maybe John Wayne shoulda been gay, too.  Or John Mcclain.  Maybe Rocky. 

Before you go calling me homophobic, it's just something stupid to do with your most bad ### characters.  Maybe in 200 years when half the world is gay it'll fit better.

Gay people can be badass, too. In fact, Alexander the Great was gay or at the very least, bi.

At first I think it was because he thought junkie Depp gave him the best chance to get back to the boat.  As to why he let them get on the boat, maybe he didn't feel like leaving them to get killed after they helped him.

 
I am a big TWD fan.

FTWD is pretty bad. Wasted opportunity. Just wasted.

Maybe 10 or 20 years ago it was shock factor but not now. Notice how there has been no reaction anywhere to it. Who cares if he's gay, the show has a million problems but that isnt one of them.

Don't care about a man kissing a man, just didnt want it to be THAT man.  The show sucks, but at least he was a good character.  Still is, just awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

 
The show does suck pretty bad though.  Gets worse every episode.  I am officially done with it.  It's not even good/bad enough to enjoy a TWD style thread. 

And before I get the "see ya next week" response, save your time.  It's already anticipated.......................except I wont see it

Then why make a point of showing it? What purpose did it serve? It seems fairly obvious the network expected some shock value out of it. Of course, it may be that it is just a requirement now for any series on television.

Maybe part of the plot.  Like a reason Strand can steal from a high up member of the cartel and not be killed.

I was referring specifically to the kiss. The fact Strand was gay was made pretty obvious well before that point. I agree, there is absolutely zero shock factor to having a gay couple in any show.

 
This show could be awesome if it just featured the Strand, the druggie, Ruben Blades, and Mexican Jack Black as The 'Z' Team. 

Strand is the Face.

The Druggie is Murdock.

MJB is BA.

Blades is Hannibal.

They make their way across the wasteland as soldiers of fortune, with Airline Annie always in dogged, yet futile pursuit.

lets not forget how that old spanish dude pushed that wooden spike thru a hard wood closet door to impale that well behaved zombie

and why did the husband have a hood over his head ...was that decided before the exchange ? i know why the zombie had a hood on...so many things that are beyond dumb ....its like im watching that movie night of the comet ...but thats kind of an insult to that movie...at least that movie was campy on purpose
