The time jump back and forth is a little confusing. Did something happen to Madison to make Nick go after that guy?
They're trying a bit too hard to be cute with the multiple time jumps. Iirc, They still haven't addressed the exploding brdige and what happened afterwards- but started to last week. And yeah- Madison is glaringly absent this week, and the cast is so Angry and dark I assumed the vultures had gotten her (even though they don't seem aggressive or gun carrying)

I usually like use of color and light to describe themes in movies and TV, buy as usual they hammer it at us so hard and with no subtlety.... It's black and white...now it's super warm colors... Now it's black and white again, but see- colorful flowers too! Diminishes it for me.

Interesting they killed off the main dude. Maybe he's got a movie filming.

Thought this was a really good episode, this is far more interesting than TWD. Being on the move rather than living suburban life and warring with local tribes leads to more interesting stories
I thought it was a decent episode even if plot was driven by that goofy gotcha, no i got you...oops, crash scene. I agree totally about the more substinenece survival being a lot more interesting than cartoonish groups of survivors battling it out. And killing Nick made this decent episode better, if only because it kept me on my toes. He's the only character I find interesting- I discussed liking the parallel drggie/zombie thing they did the first couple seasons and was looking forward to getting back to that. I guess not.

Nick’s death was unexpected.

I’m still waiting for the gunslinger to go ham on a hostile group with 6/6 headshots. You just know they’ll put that in at some point.

As long as negan isn't there, no reason he can't do that. If he is, there'll be a lot of brick wall shooting.

Gotta assume that Nick will be in show via flashbacks all season as they walk us through what got us to this point. Too bad we won't get more Nick and Morgan scenes though. They were good together.

while watching the episode I thought either Madison or the little girl was killed.  Then at the ending I am pretty sure Madison is dead, but we won't find out for a long time as the two timeline story line appears to be an ongoing thing.  Nick himself is still going to show up in future episodes.

I agree.  Madison is dead and that's why Nick went after that dude.

I'm wondering why the guy Nick antlered wasn't alarmed when Nick showed up. Didn't try to run away or grab a weapon just continued unloading his pimentos as if nothing had previously happened.

Yet Nick was in a murderous rage and had a big grudge about something.

I considered that Madison might have been taken hostage and maybe he felt like Nick would not hurt him if she was captured but there was no other indication of that in the scene that followed, so I was confused.

I’m pretty sure that group has killed a lot of people (little girl didn’t really think twice about killing Nick), so they have probably had plenty of cases where they kill and the rest of a group just leaves so they don’t die.

That said they don’t seem real big and impressive. 47 armed people should be able to take them out with a little surprise.

I do think Madison may be dead as well because of the blue flower connection. Just seemed way too sentimental over the flower.

You didn't like the colors?  What about the horn blaring for half of the show?

You're in an armored truck with your friends coming back... what was the point of leaving again even if you can't find the fuse box to turn the horn off?

No way that truck gets stuck without it's wheels being buried up to it's axles, and if it was stuck there is no way a flat bed would be able to pull it out.

Kill again off again to the point of hallucination Morgan trying to give anyone any advise is hilarious.   And why did he go back to The Art of Piece?  How'd that work out for him at the ending of his time on TWD.

Nick was one of the few characters I liked. Tough pill to swallow (see what I did there?) losing him. I don't really have anyone to really root for now. And I don't like the fact that made me want to see a child die. But I do. I want her D-E-A-D.

I am so confused.  Weren't they just at the dam in Mexico (or nearby)?  Now they're in Texas?  Where is Ruben Blades?

Someone fill me in.  I honestly had to go and look to see if I somehow missed an entire season

Something's off here... I obviously missed something.  Help a brotha out.

Edit:  Watching Season 3 recap on AMC's app.  Ofelia died?  I think I missed the finale.  They showed the dam blowing up in a flashback in last week's episode too.  Don't remember that.  And the crazy guy gets "hammered" by Kim Dickens?

I think I just need to watch the finale of Season 3.

I think they jumped forward a lot of years.

Maybe the writing didn’t help, but I agree. Madison is/was awful. The hot truck driver girl is quite an upgrade, to be sure.
I go back and forth whether it is the writing always making her look like an idiot or if it is the acting.  I guess is it likely a combination of the both.

She is one of my least favorite characters ever in any tv series I have watched.  If she is only in 50% of this season due to the multiple time lines, that alone is going to improve the show.

Morgan being in the story forced the jump.  TWD has always been way ahead in time compared to FTWD.  Now they are in sync (at least until TWD kicks off again).
Which totally negates the whole story line that FTWD was supposed to be about. The whole "what led up to TWD", boom, totally gone.

I don't see how having two nearly identical shows is good for either of them.
As far as I can tell FTWD was poorly laid out by the creators.  It did not look like they had any plans for the series past the first season and once they found the ship, it just morphed into TWD West.

They should have made the entire first season about Tobias.  Some nerd kid figuring out something is going on and the season finale being where FTWD started.
Or at least having him as a main impetus to the CDC scrambling over "something brewing", military involvement/mobilization, etc.

They completely screwed it up.
