Official Robert Griffin III - RGIII RG3 (1 Viewer)

Media needs talking points, BAD!

Why else will they make a big deal about the letter that was in his locker all season?

People hate RG3, just admit you dont like him, you will always judge him as you do because of that.

So nothing he does will be right, especially when he leaves a letter that was in his locker all season.
I was a massive RG3 fan. He was a doosh in 13 and 14. In 14 his teammates voted to strip him of being a Team Captain. Although Snyder/Allen enabled him by handing him the startering job but his attitude was awful.
How was he a doosh? I am excited to hear all about it from people who know him personally and dont get their info from the media.

Why was he a doosh?
The local media was remarkably pro Griffin since the local sports media is largely controlled by Snyder, Griffin's biggest supporter. Most of the negative came from Griffin's Social Media accounts. You can Google thaose if you care to educate yourself.
I follow him on Twitter like I do many NFL players, as far as what he said on his social media. Maybe he shouldnt of said some things publicly, but if you use stuff like that to sum up a man as a doosh, more power to you. People like to hate others for petty things such as that. I for one see all the help he does with children and other underprivileged on social media. The stuff he does for the vets and the military is second to none. You can check that out if you care to educate yourself on the real person he is.

As far as a QB, he has proven he can have success. I happen to be in the camp that believes with renewed confidence and a coach who cares about what RG3 can provide to a team that a season like 2012 can be accomplished.

2012 - ROY

2013 - Rushed back and was never healthy.

2014 - Hurt his ankle lost the job.

2015 - Did not play one snap.

But continue to say how bad he was, everything is circumstantial and the circumstances around his ability to play are vast.

I said it once and I'll say it again. If you hate RG3 because of his injuries, you must hate LeVeon Bell for all his too.

2015 - Torn ACL and MCL in Week 8, missed remainder of season.

2014 - Hyperextended his knee after taking a low hit in his wk 17 game against the Bengals. He missed the WC game and the Pro-Bowl as a result.

2013 - Bell pulled his lisfranc and missed the preseason.

2013 - In week 13 Bell and Jimmy Smith were involved in a vicious collision. Bell was knocked out on the play and had to be helped off the field and to the locker room.

Sports injury predictor puts Bells risk at 81% and RG3s at 56%

I made no comment regarding his injuries. Just that his teammates, coaches, and players from the Heisman Fraternity seem to think he's a jerk. Having your teammates vote you off of being a Captain midseason is pretty damning.

I agree with that for sure, but that can be for many reasons and one of those could be just not being liked.

But the other points were to address his situation as a whole.

Paid nothing to get him and cant wait for my lottery ticket to become top 5 with a chip on his shoulder. RG!!! Lets go!!

Could be interesting with a change of scenery for sure. Has to have humbled him a bit, can focus on football and not his new logo.

That "inspirational" note he left taped to his locker shows just how much of everything that happened was really on RGIII himself. Passive-aggressive until the end.
That note was there all season, a season during which he was benched and usually inactive and cause no problems whatsoever.

Mentioning the note now as if it proves something is kind of silly.

Hopefully he's learned something and can move on.

As much as I hate this saying... "Haters gonna hate." The over the top hatred of RGIII found in this thread makes me wonder about the psychological make-up of some of these folks.

He handled this season as well as he could, don't think anyone can knock him for that. Should set himself up for an opportunity to bounce back and the humbling experience will probably be good for him long term.

Agree 100%. Seen some teammates tweet support of Griffin today. Typical DC media taking a RG3 story and running with it

Yeah, he handled it well. Prior to that Cousins handled playing behind Griffin well. They both get credit for that.

Yeah Cousins seems like a good guy, 1st class when he was behind RG. But after being the 2nd QB taken, multiple drafts mortgaged for, and ROY it can't be easy to swallow your pride the way he had to this year.

Well, he did leave it behind as the only thing in his locker after cleaning it out. If he didn't want it seen/talked about, he should have taken it with him.

Or it could be that he never imagine anyone taking Mother Teresa as passive-aggressive. I mean, that's actually not the reasoning of a reasonably logical person.

Isnt this a little petty?

You know players leave things in their lockers, right? DeSean Jackson left a pair of socks that were like totally thug.

One more foot in the ### before he is out of their jurisdiction.

He was so good out of the gate that I'm not willing to give up on him. If he gets his body, mechanics and mind right he can be a force again. Hope he makes a Doug Martin-like comeback.

The note was for him all year. The year reporters weren't granted access to interview him. The year he was "no comment" at every turn to keep attention away from himself. This note to me was a cool view on how he handled this very tough season from a personal perspective. The guy played safety on the scout team when asked to. Put his pads on when the team was too short to keep him inactive. Think about that. In those two games if Cousins and McCoy got hurt, Darrel Young would have played QB. RG3 suited up anyway. He could have easily said "cut me now if you don't plan on giving me a chance" and he didn't. He just did what was asked of him day in and day out. By all reports he was a great teammate this year. Not just a guy at the end of the roster. A legit great teammate. Positive and supportive. Don't try to over analyze "The Note". There's nothing there. Just some well-meaning positive affirmations.

As long as he leaves the division, I'l be rooting for him. I think he'd do best going somewhere with an established starter and learning the system for 2 years or so before he has to start. The tough part there is that the NFL has such a high turnover rate these days that you can't really predict if a system is going to be the same 3 years from now.

2012 - ROY after running a system that exploited his strengths as a dangerous runner and average passer against defenses that were always worried about him taking off.

2013 - Demanded to be played as a pocket passer. Performed terribly but was given a pass because maybe it was just the result of the ACL tear and lack of an offseason.

2014 - Performed terribly again as a pure pocket passer under a new coach. Word started to get out that he did not know how to read defenses, or adjust his protection at the line. His fundamentals in general were below average, he dedicated too much time in the weight room and not enough time in the film room.

2015 - Did not play one snap. Football minds finally won out over ownership. QB play and offensive line pass blocking improved dramatically.
FYP. RG3 is not going to be a good QB in this league unless he starts running again (which I'm not sure he's capable of), or actually learns how to play QB (which you could say about anyone).

In my opinion, Griffin has shown:

1. very little pocket presence.

2. to avoid the rush, he frequently turns away and is not looking down field

3. makes poor line adjustments based on the defense shown

4. poor mechanics

There are also reports that he would not run the offense the coach's wanted to run (read option under Shanahan). Two coaches benched him and went to other QBs.

Griffin most likely will sign a very modest contract and compete to be a backup QB. If he cannot pick up the system, we may be cut before the season starts.

Griffin has balked before about running the read option offense. He could increase his chances of sticking with a team if he goes to a read option team such as Buffalo or Seattle. But that is a decision Griffin will need to make.

Marvelous nails it on points 1-4. I think he'll get a shot to start for a bad football team - HOU or CLE maybe - and may even win the job and put up a couple of good starts. But it will run its course. He isn't an NFL QB without the legs he brought into the league. Stuck in the pocket, he's like a bad Tim Tebow.

He hasn't played like a competent NFL QB in a few years, but to say he "isn't an NFL QB without the legs" is selling him short. He has all the tools, the only thing missing is the dedication to honing his craft. We literally know nothing about the past six months, perhaps he was working his ### off in the film study room and with the training staff.

It would be a great sign to see him choose a former QB to be his mentor, but I haven't heard anything like that in his career to this point.

Even though QB is a watered down position in 1QB leagues, I'm still happy that I scooped up RG3 in several leagues when the original owner got tired of holding him and dumped him to the WW. RG3 was a round peg in a square hole with the system that they tried to force on RG3 in WAS. With presumably this many suitors to sign RG3, I expect whatever team signs him plans to run an offense that caters to his strengths. I still think there's a lot of upside with RG3, especially when costs next to nothing.

Nobody wants this clown.  Certainly not as their starter.  The Jets are just trying to light a fire under Fitzgerald.  It's been a long time since I've seen this guy play, but the last time I did I remember thinking, "This is a guy that is scared to play".  Now that Cooley and company have admitted they actively hated the guy, maybe he was right to feel that way, but I think the injury really torpedoed this guy past the point of recovery.

Several players have come out saying Cooley is full of crap and should shut his mouth.  Orakpo said he would smack the poop out of him if he sees him for talking that trash.

Be that as it may, my point still stands.  In my opinion, he looked and played scared.  I think he's done mentally.

He'll probably get another shot, but it will be as a backup; and hopefully the team dumb enough to take a flyer on him never needs to play him.

Brandon Marshall will kill this guy by week 5 for not throwing him the ball unless he's wide open. Look elsewhere Bob, Marshall is working on his HOF career.
