The Interview:
Baalke: Welcome, Lane, for the interview for the OC position with the 49ers. We have a lot of questions to...
Jed: So you got your jobs exclusively because of who your daddy was, never succeeded at any job you've held, and lie repeatedly in press conferences because you think people are too stupid to realize you're not telling the truth???? I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE HIRED!!!!
Sounds about right.Found this funny post on SFGate:

no worse than your most hated team hoisting a 2nd trophy when you all thought you had a chance? So from Jim Harbaugh to the Dline coach and Lane Kiffin.
It literally gets no worse than that.
I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure Cap isn't a 49er fan, I think he was just chiming in on the dismal situation...its so bad, fans from other teams are coming here to see for themselves. I have to agree with him on this though...while the sting of getting knocked out of the playoffs is long gone, we now have to live with this new mess for a while...Sigh...from Nolan/Singletary era to the Harbaugh era of hope to this...talk about backsliding...the only positive is we know this team can win with the players we have, we just have to wait and see if the new staff can get them to produce and play like they're capable of.hehe, my fault. no direct offense meant to Cap by any stretch, in fact I shouldn't have quoted him per se, just the "it literally gets no worse than that" i was intending to quote.I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure Cap isn't a 49er fan, I think he was just chiming in on the dismal situation...its so bad, fans from other teams are coming here to see for themselves. I'm just hoping for a great game instead of the last Super Bowl.^lol
As far as the SB goes, no way in hell would I ever root for Seattle (or any other NFC west team for that matter) in a Super Bowl.
As much as I'm sick of seeing New England in the hunt year after year, I'd rather root for Brady to join the 4 ring club than see Carroll and company win a 2nd.

It feels dirty being a 49er fan right now.
The 49ers still had a top 5 defense with a lot of holes and injuries, and with that, he still can scheme his way around it. His first season as DC, the 49ers had one of the best - if not the best - TO ratios, giveaway/takeaway in the league. Is Fangio a stud or just good at utilizing talent when he has it?
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/20/49ers-save-1-5-million-this-year-via-coaching-change/Mutual partings can be good for the bottom line.
By releasing former coach Jim Harbaugh from the last year of a five-year, $25 million contract (and by avoiding a second deal at market value for a guy who took the team to three straight NFC title games and one Super Bowl), the 49ers have saved a nice chunk of cash.
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, new coach Jim Tomsula’s contract pays $3.5 million per year. Only three NFL coaches (fewer than 10 percent of the league) earn less than that, per Maiocco.
Assuming Harbaugh’s deal paid out a consistent $5 million annually, it’s a savings of at least $1.5 million for 2015. That number becomes higher when considering what the 49ers would have paid Harbaugh on an extension — if he’d been willing to accept it.
That’s a key fact to remember when it comes to the conclusion of Harbaugh’s employment after only four seasons. Following his second year on the job, and with three years left on his original contract, the organization tried to extend the deal. But, as PFT and others have reported, 49ers CEO Jed York believed Harbaugh wanted to be paid like a Super Bowl winning coach without winning a Super Bowl.
It’s possible that other issues arose only after it became obvious that Harbaugh wanted more than the team was willing to pay him. With Tomsula making $1.5 million less that Harbaugh got in 2011 and with Harbaugh likely hoping for at least $7 million per year on an extension that never happened, the 49ers would have been paying at least twice as much for Harbaugh than they’re paying for Tomsula.
While there’s no fault in offering a guy a contract he’s willing to accept, it’s hard not to wonder whether, at some level, the Harbaugh impasse related not to personality orclass or integrity but cold, hard cash. With the top of the coaching market (but for Bill Belichick’s top-secret deal that many believe exceeds $10 million per year) still under eight figures, Harbaugh may have realized that it was time for some coaches who haven’t won Super Bowls to be paid like some who have. With everyone else connected to the sport making more and more (and more) every year, the coaching market has yet to reflect that growth.
Maybe that’s the way the owners want it. With no salary cap and no union, the teams can have unwritten rules about what coaches should be paid. Unless and until a coach is willing to trash his future prospects by filing an antitrust lawsuit alleging an effort to contain coaching salaries, the only choices are to accept what a team will pay or to take a job with a college program.
So Harbaugh got his raise and the 49ers ended up getting a different coach for a lot less money.
Jed York: “I just saved 15% in 15 minutes by switching to Tomsula!!”
The Bears have reportedly found their defensive coordinator.
Former 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will become a member of Chicago’s coaching staff, Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reported on Tuesday morning.
According to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com, Fangio will be the Bears’ defensive coordinator.
The 56-year-old Fangio led the 49ers’ defense the last four seasons. He also was defensive coordinator for the Texans (2002-2005), Colts (1999-2001) and Panthers (1995-1998).
The 49ers finished in the top eight in fewest yards per play allowed in each of Fangio’s four seasons as coordinator.
The Bears’ defense has struggled in each of the last two seasons. Chicago was 29th in yards per play surrendered and 30th in yards per game allowed in 2014.

Lol. Hey man, I've sat in Lon Simmons' seats many times - due to a friend of mine who is closely related to him - ate Oysters Rockefeller with Bob St. Clair and RC Owens, and met a lot of other 49er alumni at the alum parking lot tailgate pre-game tailgate parties.Drummer is good with me. Special teams coach Brad Seely spent four years on Jim Harbaugh’s staff with the 49ers, leaving him without a job when things blew up after the season and Harbaugh left for the University of Michigan.
Seely didn’t have to look far for his next landing spot. The Raiders announced Tuesday night that Seely will be their special teams coach for the 2015 season. He joins offensive coordinator Brad Musgrave as key members of Jack Del Rio’s staff in Oakland.
It’s the seventh NFL stop for Seely, who has been bouncing from team to team since 1989. He’s had stops with the Colts, Jets, Panthers, Patriots and Browns in addition to his run with the 49ers.
Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports that the 49ers will hire Thomas McGaughey to take over Seely’s role on the staff. McGaughey spent 2014 as the special teams coach for the Jets and has also worked for LSU, the Giants and the Broncos during his coaching career.
Plausible. The part I of the equation I'm blind to is that one would think a winning teams make ownership a lot more money than a few million dollars than a bottom feeding teams.Mutual partings can be good for the bottom line.
<snipped lots of stuff about how much money York saves by Harbaugh leaving>So Harbaugh got his raise and the 49ers ended up getting a different coach for a lot less money.
Well, the Yorks are from Youngstown, Ohio. Denise really doesn't want anything to do with the franchise, other than make sure it meets the bottom line. The Yorks never connected with the San Francisco elite like Eddie had. They are not anything San Francisco in the least. They still call Youngstown home. They never understood the old fanbase, and once they whittled away due to they burning the team into the ground, that's when they decided to bring Jed into the fold, brand him "Uncle Eddie", and made him go door to door in Santa Clara for the stadium push.Plausible. More ticket sales, more concession sales, more merchandise sales, doesn't that stuff add up?
They say insanity is doing the same things over and over again but expecting different results. Unless something's changed, why should anyone expect different results than what was going on pre-Harbaugh?
You reap what you sow in terms of the grief that you get from other posters around here, but this is a pretty damn good summary of the real situation.Well, the Yorks are from Youngstown, Ohio. Denise really doesn't want anything to do with the franchise, other than make sure it meets the bottom line. The Yorks never connected with the San Francisco elite like Eddie had. They are not anything San Francisco in the least. They still call Youngstown home. The Yorks still had a $400 million bond from Eddie greasing former Mayor Willie Brown to get that pushed through, even with dead voters. That measure only passed because it was a mixed use project, with a mall attached. Eddie built a failed Rodeo Drive sort of indoor downtown mall in Palm Springs, CA, and had then PS City Manager Norm King in his back pocket to develop it. Eddie gave King free tickets all the time, and today, half of that mall is being torn down, almost all of within in a few years.
John York blames Gavin Newsome for not taking his phone calls, thus deciding to move to Santa Clara. Newsome was Feinstien and Boxer's Golden Boy, the future of the Democratic Party, and along with his former wife Kim Guilfoyle - now ironically with Fox News - the New Camelot. The $400 million dollar bond was pretty much worthless at that time, That's about how much it would cost build a mall covering a few city blocks like the failed one in Palm Springs in today's dollars, and we are also talking Bay Area real estate market prices of the same day. That whole stadium project was doomed from the beginning, and there was no way Newsome would spend any local political clout to give anything to the Yorks.
Remember, San Francisco almost lost the Giants, until private investors came into play. Private investment is building the new Warriors arena as well.
The bottom line was the Yorks were too cash poor to build a stadium in SF, had no political allies, and they only way to get one built was a land grab in Santa Clara, with Silicon Valley allies that Gideon Yu brought. Now all Jed had to do was bring a coach like Harbaugh in - after they screwing it up once more with Mike Singletary - and promised that Baalke would be able to work with him. Harbaugh was in the backyard, so it wasn't like they went out and made a genius hire. It served well for Harbaugh, and once he turned the franchise around, everybody else puffed their chests, especially Jed.
Then, the reality came that everybody else outside of Harbaugh didn't know anything on how to run a football franchise. Levis is flawed, in a horrible location, and held a host of problems. Santa Clara is primed to take a bath on the whole thing, will have to raise taxes in a small city, and it will cost them big time. It really doesn't have the infrastructure to host a large event like the Super Bowl.
If you took away the San Francisco part of the 49ers, and called them the San Jose 49ers, the value would drop like a stone, even with Harbaugh. What the Yorks are trying to do is create their own brand of 49er football, and it fails miserably every time. Of course they will have conflicts with those who know football. They have no clue of it, are too petty and spineless to admit it, and rather fire Harbaugh to spite those who know this.
Every move you see coming from Jed today is out of pure spite. No one wants to go near this toxic mess. Jed's Silicon Valley partners don't see a long return on investment, just the quick dollar, and once it sells for wheat pennies, they could wind up buying the franchise from underneath the Yorks.
The dollars and sense aren't in the long return, but rather in the short con.
The CEO is just a young arrogant ######## who has empowered Trent Baalke and collectively they're destroying the team.Fairly confident 4-6 wins is in the cards and a comfortable spot at the bottom of the NFC West awaits.is there some great QB coming out that SF is tanking for in the 2016 draft? Mangini? some guy with a porn stash as the HC?
Is the Lane Kiffin thing real?? wow
At this point, your guess is as good as ours.So Ellinton seemed poised for a bigger role on offense going forward, but with all the upheaval and a new coaching staff, what do you guys think is in the cards for him?

I don't know. Offensive Coordinator: Vacant is arguably better than Greg Roman.Looks like Tomsula managed to find a way to downgrade on Roman at the OC position. Bravo. That takes a special type of incompetence.
Honestly with Boldin's and Kaepernick's raw playmaking skills, they may be better off just letting Kaep draw plays up in the dirt in the huddle. Just need a burner for the go routes.I don't know.
