First goal was a clear offsides call not given, but you just have no excuse to look that frazzled at home to a ####### Belgian side with a two goal lead. Embarrassing.

Defense is terrible. Not buying another CB and CDM was unexcusable. If they don't do something in January, it'll be shocking.

I don't think it was a coincidence that they fell apart after Arteta came off with an injury. He does a lot to subtly stabilize the back and feed passes forward when they regain possession. That's not an excuse, but rather more evidence that they need both more quality and depth back there.

He's awesome, obviously. But he's just casually strolled around when the other team has possession instead of pressing. I guess it could be justified as him saving his energy, given how heavy his workload is. But the play right before his goal was just galling. I'm glad he scored, but Jesus.

I wish they would call that offside - he is "involved" in the play enough for the keeper to remain on line in case he isn't called or AR misses it. Then without the call he has to scramble out late to get it. My idea of not involved would be if he was on the other side of the pitch in that position

I wouldn't shut the door just yet, if they can get a draw at the Etihad against Bayern, and CSKA can force the same from Roma, they can beat Roma in Matchday 6 to get past them.

huh? He was literally like 5 yards offsides at that point, do you really think he is "in the play" for the keeper to worry? Maybe at a rec level, I doubt at even a high school level. The ball is kicked over his head and he kept his back to the line the whole time with 0 intent at making a play at the ball, I don't see anyway that can be called offsides and negate Bartra from making a play on the ball.
