No - that gets you Europa League.doesn't the mickey league cup hardware get you auto entry?
Man United have to win Europa for an automatic berth, or finish in top-4.

Liverpool were in a similar situation last year. Stuck 4-5 points back, also needed to win Europa to qualify.Yes Champions League. Either by top 4 or winning Europa. Got to be positive!

that's cute.Liverpool were in a similar situation last year. Stuck 4-5 points back, also needed to win Europa to qualify.
The problem ManU will have (especially with the FA cup) is that the fixture congestion will become very tough.
It almost gets to the point where you have to pick which is more important. By the end, LIV was playing the backups for the final 3-4 EPL games. The gamble didn't work.
That being said, the Europa was much stronger last year. LIV beat ManU, Dortmund and Villarreal before losing to Sevilla. With Tottenham losing, you can pretty easily make the case that United are clearly the best team left.
was a joke. bowl of soup, I figured. No - that gets you Europa League.doesn't the mickey league cup hardware get you auto entry?

United is the favorite at about 2/1; then a pretty big gap to Rona at 5/1; then Lyon, Celta Vigo, Gladbach and Schalke all about 10/1With Tottenham losing, you can pretty easily make the case that United are clearly the best team left.
Barçerona?I have it on good authority that Rona is going to take this thing
Love the avatar. Guess you watched my link? ?Barçerona?
Rice-A-Rona?
Did not see your link - but I assume it was John Oliver.... had to do a screen capture to get the logo.Love the avatar. Guess you watched my link? ?
Amazing environment Sunday night. We started tailgating at 12:30 ahead of a 7:30 kickoff. Hung out near the supporters groups and somehow missed the march to the stadium. Got inside 30 min ahead of kickoff. Still fired up 2 days later. What do Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Barcelona have in common?
They were the only teams in the world who drew more fans this weekend than Atlanta did.
A high temperature of 21 for the Revs home opener on Saturday. I am getting too old for this...

what time does it start? Way too many crappy English teams in that quiz.
2:00pm so we should be near the balmy highs. It is going to snow tomorrow.what time does it start?
I was talking to the wife and kids last night about Philly's home opener on Saturday. High of 35 - game starts at 4:30. As soon as I said the temp, my oldest says "hope we have lots of hand warmers!".
The supporters march in to the stadium was pretty cool. I was a little too far away to take video on my crappy phone but took a couple of still shots (I still need to upload all my pics and post it). The fan village area was pretty cool. Did you sign the Golden Spike? The tailgating kind of surprised me - I used to folks being out there for GT football games but I didn't think I'd see as many folks tailgating for MLS - just never dawned on me.Amazing environment Sunday night. Tough result to lose the game. Shows Our youth to blow a lead and then implode late. To have the game in hand late also shows our talent. If Tara does his job, we don't lost these games in August. I like what we can do out there. BRING ON MUFC!!
Oh, so we're listening to Jenga cheaters now?Sinn Fein said:

The atmosphere was great but I will say there were lulls at times when it would have been cool if they had more songs/chants going. I know that will happen over time but the only chants we really heard/were involved with were "A-T-L" and "Ole". I was just blown away by it being a completely full house and how it was 98% AU fans with probably 75% wearing AU gear.
I don't know that Amtrak stops there- maybe- but definitely a PATH stationThe New Jersey Metrostars play at the Harrison Amtrak station now, yes?
ah- yeah... you definitely see it from Amtrack.Just rolled through and saw the stadium on the other side of Aleppo some burned out buildings and parking lots.

Saturday's match between the New England Revolution and Orlando City SC has been postponed due to extreme cold projected to hit the New England area over the weekend.
The match, originally scheduled for Saturday at 2 pm ET at Gillette Stadium, will now be played on September 2 at 7 pm ET.
The decision to postpone the match was made by Major League Soccer and the two clubs after forecasts of temperatures in the low 20s at kick off, with a potential windchill in single digits. Additionally, Winter Storm Reggie is expected to bring heavy snow to southern New England on Friday.
"All of us involved in this decision believe this is in the best interest of the fans, the players, and the game," said Revolution President Brian Bilello. "We at the Revolution look forward to seeing all our fans at the Orlando game on September 2."
The Revs return to action on Saturday, March 18 at FC Dallas (8 pm ET), while Orlando's next match is slated for the same day, at home against the Philadelphia Union (7:30 pm ET).

While lamenting the fact that he needs to now turn around and go home on twitter, the Revs president saw it and told him the team would pay round trip flight for any game he wanted this year to make up for the cancellation.

U.S. international Mix Diskerud has sealed a loan to Swedish side IFK Goteborg following his tumultuous exit from New York City FC.
NYCFC bought out Diskerud's contract last week after he failed to make an appearance for the club after last June. He remained under contract with the league, but because of a no-trade clause, he could not join another MLS team.
An MLS source told ESPN FC earlier this week that the loan to IFK will provide "minor salary relief only" to NYCFC, which will remain responsible for paying the bulk of the player's wages, which amounted to $761,250 last season.
The loan only lasts through Aug. 27 of this year.
Mix Diskerud fell out of favor at NYCFC after Patrick Vieira was hired.
The move allows Diskerud, 26, to begin to rebuild his career, and put his highly disappointing spell in New York behind him. He was signed by NYCFC just prior to the 2015 campaign, and made 27 appearances for the club under then-manager Jason Kreis, scoring three goals -- including the team's first-ever -- and adding one assist.
But following Kreis' firing at the conclusion of the 2015 season, and the subsequent hiring of Patrick Vieira, Diskerud fell out of favor in New York. He made just 12 league appearances in 2016, scoring just one goal and adding two assists.
With Vieira making it clear that Diskerud was no longer in his plans, the player parted ways with the team last week. An ESPN FC survery of MLS players last week named him as the league's most overrated player for a second straight year.
During this time, Diskerud's prospects with the U.S. national team dwindled as well. The last of his 36 appearances came as a substitute on Oct. 13, 2015, in a 1-0 loss to Costa Rica.
Before his time with New York City FC, Diskerud played with Norwegian sides Stabaek and Rosenborg, as well as Belgian side Gent.
Spurs played poorly away to Gent. No away goals. No excuses.Speaking of Gent, did everyone notice that they got beaten by three goals at home to a fellow Belgian side? I don't think it's unfair to say that that reflects poorly on Spurs, who I don't particularly like to crap on.
be right there. I'll start yelling FLOPPO when I get there because I don't know how to pronounce your name.Ok...funny. I send a text to my boss that was meant for my wife and full of swearing. Then I post a text to my boss here.
Good times.
If any of you NYC degens is near Penn Station I'm boozing for the next hour in the Tick Tock Diner waiting out a delayed train. Low on swank but you can sit down.
Biggest difference is nobody watched Spurs get dumped out of Europa. Rightly or wrongly, nobody in England really cares about Europa (though I do think Man United are trying to win their way into Champions League via Europa.)I don't know. I'm not the best Arsenal fan, but I think I'd be more disappointed in them crashing out to Gent by any score line than getting drubbed by Bayern. The only recent Champions League knockout loss that really stings for me is Monaco, because Arsenal should have been the better team.
Fair enough, but who can forget shader's heartbreak when Sevilla murdered Liverpool in the second half of the final last year? IT WAS REAL TO HIM, DAMMIT!Biggest difference is nobody watched Spurs get dumped out of Europa. And yes, a loss to Gent is a bad loss - but it does not look as bad as a proper thumping...
