I was just looking at a map of Africa. I'll never remember it all. For that matter, I'm lost on an unmarked map of the Balkans, too.
Most of Africa lies within tropical latitudes.  There's not huge variation in the summer vs. winter temperatures in 2019 hosts Cameroon but the June/July tournament time is considerably wetter than January.

The increase from 16 to 24 teams is one benefit of the summer schedule.  The ratio of finalists to Federation members is almost identical to UEFA but I think there's more parity/unpredictability in African soccer.  I don't know if more stadiums will be required to host a bigger tournament.  AFCON 2017 in Gabon had four host cities compared to ten in Euro 2016.

got invited to see Rona vs Spurts at RBA. #### yes! except... it's the one night my stupid brother is going to be in town so I had to decline. my brother who still hasn't replied to me about whether we're going to see him or not and probably won't until then. writing him off if he bails on us and made me miss out on that game.

So now Silly Season is in full swing.  Not only does it look like PSG is going to get Neymar - but rumors are heating up that Sanchez will sign there also.  Its hard to imagine one of those guys headed to Paris, let alone both...

same- but I can draw. I still got an F on my two home states NY and CA. :lol:   got a bunch of B+s on all those rectangular states.
I would say I want to avoid any buildings you designed, but really, I probably only need to worry if you designed a building shaped like a state. :thumbup:

You haven't done that, have you? :oldunsure:

This is such juicy stuff. I like it too much.

Two other notes, one of consequence: Van Dijk has effectively gone on strike at Southampton, looks like the final push is on for a Liverpool deal. They're now talking £60 million for pete's sake. Also, Leeds is talking to Negredo to help with that last big effort for promotion.  :lmao:

It's been a while since I've given a Dazed and Confused update.  We are three matches into the summer season and we are 0-3 like a rocket, with 6 goals scored and 24 given up.

But, yours truly found the net last night AND it was the correct net!

As the old punch line goes: "why are you telling me? ... I'm telling everyone!"

On my way to the Northwoods and it seems I've just triggered the release clause on a growler of imperial barrel aged Stout at Central Waters. More acquisitions to come before the window closes.

This is a good idea. I'm going to start putting release clauses on all my booze. Lagavulin 16, Black Tuesday '10, Zacapa 23... let's start bozzin

Walker = £50m
Otamendi = £32m

Total = £217m

Except for the misspelling of Roma, I was wondering if @Kafka had taken that account over...
Whoa, dude...no need to get personal!  ...seems extremely harsh & unfair.  @El Floppo is a distinguished gentleman & scholar....

...even when shammered...

Neymar has agreed to personal terms with PSG; now just a matter of paperwork.  222 mil....Wow.  The transfer market/player evaluations continues to spiral maddeningly out of control.

so if PSG get both Sanchez and Neymar, lets do some speculating.

$257 Million for Neymar

$58 Million for Sanchez

4 year deals for both at an average of $20m per season (this might be low considering what Messi is now making)

That would be an outlay of $475 million over 4 years.  And I have to assume there are going to be some FFP issues here which could result in significant fines.

A live stream of the Arab Club Championship popped up on the right side of my Twitter page, presumably because of my African football follows   https://twitter.com/UAFAAC

If anybody is interested in watching meaningful albeit obscure matches, it looks like there will be two group matches every day until Jul 30 followed a two-round knockout phase.

I think it is probably any soccer follows.  It popped up for me too.  Really good feed from the little I watched.
