As far as I know, he got clearance from the French Courts - so there is a little wait on the work permit, but I think the real hold up is him waiting to see if United will make a late bid.
Was just watching his highlights...he has a truly BergkampKafka said:@Ramsay Hunt Experience...AS Roma have signed one Patrick Shick..& by God, is he a handsome, upright striker...Pelle & Giroud are merely tokens of a bygone Dicken's Curiosity Shop...No?

Plus the no helmets thing... gotta be able to see that coif and/or sexy forehead to make an opinion.I don't know if he can play a lick but new Saint Wesley Hoedt is right off the pages of GQ.
I also don't remember ever discussing a player's looks when I followed the other football. The whimsical nature of this sport is a big part of its appeal.

that's next wed, sep 6th? will keep in mind.PSA: NYCFC doesn't have enough field players to fill their subs bench for the game on the 6th with all the call-ups and injuries (only have 14). I'm guessing they do something on their last home game in October, but this might be the last time to see Pirlo play.
Yeah...against KC. My guess is he starts with Moralez, but the team is in shambles for the game. I guess they had to use the international date because of Yankee stadium, but it sucks.that's next wed, sep 6th? will keep in mind.

It seems he probably didn't know Liverpool was an option until recently. If he wants to play CM, that's probably a better fit for him and he seems more like a Klopp kind of player than a Conte player. That said, I'm now on board with the consensus that Chelsea really could use some depth at left and right wingbacks so its a pity he didn't want that role (assuming the rumored reason for his rumored choice is accurate.)Yeah thanks a lot Ox. Couldnt you tell us, like two months ago, that you're not interested? Not nice!
outside of Wilshere, di Arsenal develop those guys? IIRC, Gibbs... maybe. but I remember Walcott, Ramsey and Ox coming in in their late teens. For all of Wenger's accomplishments, Arsenal has done a poor job of developing young players lately. 5 years ago they had a young core of Walcott, Ox, Ramsey, Wilshere and Gibbs that seemed extremely promising and mostly English. Are any of them better players now than they were in 2013?
Wilshere's injury history can be partly blamed on the fact he hasn't learned not to put himself in dangerous position. Walcott isn't a clear starter, we still don't know what position Ox plays, Ramsey has regressed and Gibbs just got sold for very little. You can add in Bellerin who is playing on the wrong side and looks a little lost right now.
I should have been more clear. I was referring to a lack of improvement after they started playing with the first team. They were all young enough that they should have continued to improve.outside of Wilshere, di Arsenal develop those guys? gotcha. agree. I remember Walcott in particular being the second coming whenever they signed him... and yet, even though he's always been a decent enough player, he didn't exactly push much past where he was as a kid.I should have been more clear. How many top clubs really develop youngsters (who then go on to feature for that club)? I think Arsene has struggled to use a lot of these players to their best ability, but lots of can't miss young guys end up missing. Other than Spurs, it's not as if many top 6 clubs in the EPL are stocked with academy products. Particularly not with their own academy products.gotcha. agree. Similarly, van Dijk to Pool for Sturridge and cash.I think my favorite rumor was City bidding 20 million and Raheem Sterling in exchange for Alexis. C'mon, son.
In a parallel universe, a reliably durable Studgie is a 70 million pound player. Along with his prolific England strike partner, Andy Carroll.Similarly, van Dijk to Pool for Sturridge and cash.
It is true that very few top clubs develop their academy kids through to the senior team anymore in any significant numbers. Just a few years ago (it seems) Barca was loaded with LaMasia products, but I don't think that is the case anymore. Same for Bayern, even with its incredible academy infrastructure and resources. That said, the issue with Wenger is he's so celebrated for his focus on the cliche of "developing youth." I remember seeing that live. Totally ridokulous. Too bad they got smoked in the end.UEFA Goal of the Season - well deserved. Mandzukic
Atlético has a few on their squad: Koke, Saúl, Fernando Torres, Thomás, Lucas Hernández, All will feature and start some games for Atleti this season. I think that's pretty typical of a top club. Maybe only 5-7 academy players will see significant time over the course of the season. It is true that very few top clubs develop their academy kids through to the senior team anymore in any significant numbers. For me its sad more than anything because his heart is right and his intent is genuine, but he seems to be clinging to a strategy and principles that don't work any more. Its very much under the microscope just in the past week or so, and will likely blow over and I'm sure Arsenal will be fine this season, but it just seems a bit sad to me right now.
If Spurs could get Lucas and another striker (Origi?) then I'd be tickled pink. Although that Wembley thing seems to be an issue...Meanwhile, in a galaxy far, far away, the Foyth is with Spurs.
Argentine U20, essentially takes CCV's spot on the roster.
Aurier is also expected to be announced today. If that comes through, Levy will have replaced Walker and Wimmer with Aurier and Sanchez, and made a profit.
