And why does Mike look like he's older if this show is set in the past
:takesdeepbreath:
let give this a shot....he looks older because he was drinking a lot prior and he was wrought with grief over breaking his boy(BB doesnt just stand for breaking bad any more)...so it took its toll ...in BB he cleaned up his act and made peace with his guilt ....or ....HE`S JUST OLDER NOW ...IN REAL LIFE
Pretty sure Cappy was joking, guys.
i cant tell who`s kidding and who`s not anymore lol

Johnathon Banks (Mike) on that podcast: "and if I catch you doing it I will hunt-you-down"

If he caught someone doing it then why would he have to hunt them down? Wouldn't they be right there? Is it because Mike is so old now and the perp would initially get away? This thread sucks.

He would give them a head start for the sport of it.

Lazy writing, IMO.

How old does Mike look in the podcast?
He just admitted to seeing Jaws in the theater, as an adult, and is now talking about how nobody has any manners anymore.

But he sounds a lot younger than he did on Breaking Bad, so that's messing with my head a little.

Ok, my serious stupid question -

Am I to assume that after confessing to his DIL, the two of them become estranged?

I'm not connecting the dots between Mike's story in "Five-O" and the end of the previous episode, when we see him staking out the FIL's house and she catches him and glares at him.
Maybe she blames him for his death. Women aren't always logical.
She clearly knew that he knew a lot more about it than what he was telling her...

I had to hack into the Social Security Administration mainframe (after spending 4 days creating a program to do the hacking) but I was able to discover Jonathan Banks is 68 years old.

No so sure about this. Just watching him walk is painful.

But how old is Mike?
What time period are you looking for? In BB he looked 65. In BCS he looks 75.
No, in real life.
BCS is real life! Haven't you been paying attention?

Don't you read stories for a ####ing living?
The rumors of my infallibility are greatly exaggerated.

he must have been drinking alcohol that has gone bad

Phenomenal episode.

I did wonder about the drinking thing though, as they seemed to imply that Mike was a recovering alcoholic, but he did drink once on BB (in the bar when he punched Walt) and seemed fine after that, so there was no relapse.

I think this week probably will win Jonathan Banks an Emmy for best supporting actor.

I liked the episode, but not as much as the rest of you it seems. I guess it's good get get all this backstory on Mike, but there was not nearly enough Saul in this one for me.
I look at it totaly different. I'm displeased that they named the show with a focus on Saul. I'd be thrilled if they focus was on Mike going forward. Saul/Bob are great and it's not like the show has been bad to this point. That said Mike/Johnathan are on a different level.
Interesting you say that. There's talk that they will go further back in time for the next series focusing on Mike as a cop in Philly. The twist here is that it will be a sitcom. If you're a Parks & Rec fan you know Banks can do comedy.

I'm enjoying BCS, but have to admit I'm almost as excited for the next project.

Big fan of the show, don't get me wrong, and I think Odenkirk is award-worthy as McGill. I think it's a valid question though, the show is called Better Call Saul, and where the hell is he?? And no mention yet of McGill having a twin brother or why they have different last names??

this post is a perfect example of why i dont know who`s kidding or not in this thread

This may have been Banks' best work so far, and that's a mouthful.
:goodposting:

Any of you fools still want to say this show is disappointing?
Yeah, I don't think we'll be hearing much from those guys this week.
Best episode so far. It's telling that the brother wasn't in it at all, and it was mostly Mike. Hopefully they do away with the silly plot line with the brother and focus on Mike for awhile.

When have you ever known McG to be serious?

I predict you will eat those words about the Chuck storyline.
