***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (1 Viewer)

Did you see how long it took "man mountain" to run away from Mike. It's because he's really fat.
Yep. He probably had too many.... Ummm.... Too many... something with a lot of sugar.
This?
That's it! Thank you, that was driving me nuts.
BTW: Would you consider the guy that Mike took the gun from (and popped in the throat) metal or not? Forget the fact that he was in some sort of video game.
He was about as metal as Nathan Lane in a bubble bath singing "It's Raining Men."
Which is how I see most metal BTW.

Most musicians say they like to leave their music open to interpretation so that the listener can glean what he wants from it.

sure it is. especially for court reporters.

That goes for all lower courts in N.M. also from what I can tell. Maybe they make exceptions for Big Gulps.
what do I know. I'm just a trial lawyer in four states.

those rules are for the riff-raff.

Link please, and dear god let there be a pastel loofah in the scene.

Is New Mexico one of them?

I have never as far as anyone knows brought a flask into court.

But a big gulp? If you aren't dressed in shorts and a tank top you can probably get away with a beverage.

He needs the weapon. The stenographer doesn't need a 55-gallon drum of Sprite.
n order for an average human to write words per minute, we need a shorthand machine, like a stenograph machine. The average certified stenographer can type anywhere from 200 to 250 words per minute. Some really good stenographers can even type up to 300 words per minute.May 30, 2013

that and she's fat.

Look at this maniac bringing a weapon into court!

And I don't need to be on my phone in between hearings to post on here either. Despite the "No cell phone" signs in the courtroom.
OMG
That's just an April Fool's Joke, right? You're not really disbarring him for that...

So Jimmy takes the $20k, rents an office in a strip mall, a big inflatable statue of liberty, and becomes Saul Goodman.

This show is so predictable.

I think what really made his reaction so ugly was the absolute disdain he had for Jimmy's schooling. While there may be a difference in prestige in law schools and some are way harder to get in to than others, the reality is that all lawyers take the same classes, pass the same bar, and, realistically, the lower level schools have much more stringent curves and are actually harder to get through than the elite schools (for example, it's waaaaay harder to get into Stanford or Yale than it is into Cooley, but it's waaaaaay harder to pass through Cooley with good grades than it is at Stanford or Yale).
Come on now. You don't really believe this, do you? It is way easier to be towards the top of the bell curve when you are competing against other bottom tier law students than against other top tier law students.
Shutup, Chuck.
this is the single funniest post in the history of woz.

plus he's kind of right. second and third (and hamline) tier schools are brutal as far as grading goes, because they need decent pass rates and want to flunk out the people that aren't going to make it after a year (although they're happy to take their tuition). top tier school are primarily "honors" and "pass".

:lmao:

So when Howard tells off Kim, then tells her to shut the door, is it safe to assume that he spills the beans that it's Chuck who is blackballing his own brother?

Having not seen BB, is that cute little puppy that Mike gets for his former daughter-in-law going to be found dead one mornng?

this is the reason she shows up at Jimmy's Place of business to tell him to take the deal..

She knows the truth, doesn't want to tell him, and knows if he doesn't take the deal Chuck will still give the case to HHM and Jimmy will end up with nothing.

Do we think Jimmy actually DOES take the deal? Or does he try to do it himself and then Chuck fights him for it based on having done work on it and them using firm resources together?

What a great episode.

I watched the last scene twice and Odenkirks performance is so much better the 2nd time through when you know what his character is thinking all along.

together?
I think he goes into full slip'n jimmy mode and dies something shady to get more money more quickly. Maybe he goes and re-negotiates a different deal with the retirement home's lawyers and cuts HHM completely out of it? As I remember they still haven't reached a fee sharing agreement between jimmy and HHM.

I believe its something along these lines. I dont believe he's hit rock bottom yet, something else or a series of pretty bad things are going to have to happen to him

There has to be more than two law firms in the area. Don't see why he wouldn't be able to shop it somewhere else - unless Chuck blocks it on the basis of the work he's done and the copies from Kim.

In one of my first court appearances a criminal defendant masturbated while sitting in court.

Did he get off?
No, but it was a hung jury.Best I could come up with.
Did the evidence stand up in court?

This is what I was thinking while watching. I'd take it somewhere else.

I could see him doing this too, as above board as he can, and then getting sued and losing most of his otherwise well-earned fee.

If this happens, then this will be the third time* he's missed out on a big payday while doing things above board. He'll also likely have no relationship with the two people he did value the most: his brother and Kim. At this point, he just says "#### it" and "it's all good, man." And then we see his slide into scummy lawyer and get to see him engage in some fun and zany shenanigans.

*First two being with the Kettlemans. He missed out on getting their case initially because he, as ethics required, was realistically up front with them during their initial consult and refused to pander to Mrs. Kettleman's unrealistic expectations. He then missed out on the second payday for the hush money cash he took because he realized it was the right thing to do for the good of everyone involved.

Yea but they offered 20% of the take. Industry standard is 11% (third of a third), so he's doing nine points better at HHM than he's likely to get anywhere else. Another firm would have to really really love the case to go above that.
