I don't think it's radical. I think they've pounded us over the head with it.Radical hypothesis: Chuck's mental condition is an unconscious reaction to his guilt at screwing over his brother. They already fished the possibility that it's related to Jimmy. That would make sense, in a weirdo Freudian kind of way. So now that Jimmy left, and he screwed him over yet again, his condition is going to get worse.
:tinfoil hat:
Yeah, shtick.Office supplies shtick is by far the best part of this thread.
I was kinda joking about the radical hypothesis part. The point was I kinda think Chuck is going to get worse and it'll rope Jimmy back into his life.PlasmaDogPlasma said:I don't think it's radical. Read the first few pages in this very thread.Remember a few years ago when Breaking Bad fans collectively groaned at the thought of a Saul spin-off?
Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.![]()
I love Saul as much as the rest of you, but he's highly effective in the relatively small doses we get of him. Might his shtick get a little (a lot?) annoying having to carry his own show?
GunnnnnnnnnnnnnzOdds far more like that it will be terrible. Spinoffs usually are.Probably won't be the only one who will be wrong, no.It's gonna be fantastic.I am I the only one who thinks this will probably be terrible.
And the Saul character was terribly written on BBad. Just a walking cliche, over and over and over and over again.
you mean Link?great episode. i was expecting this season's driving narrative to be either Nacho or the Kettleman saga. i'm pleasantly surprised how it's been mostly the jimmy-chuck thing and it has worked.
also, did anyone think the Soldier of Fortune wannabe with Mike might actually be undercover or CI? he was over the top about the gun questions and the macho bullcrap. it was like he was wearing a wire.

I don't think it's a real university. You know, I feel kind of bad for the University of American Samoa. That episode wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
Chuck would agree.I don't think it's a real university. You know, I feel kind of bad for the University of American Samoa. That episode wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
true, but if it were, I wouldn't go there now..I don't think it's a real university. You know, I feel kind of bad for the University of American Samoa. That episode wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
Nevertheless...I don't think it's a real university. You know, I feel kind of bad for the University of American Samoa. That episode wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
He's not carrying the show.Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.![]()

RN isn't the only one who had reservations. I thought they would have difficulty with regular supporting actors as Saul only had the sec'y and the big bouncer/doorman and a show on just Saul would get old fast. I figured they would incorporate a chronic lawsuit client and thought maybe there wouldn't be enough juice for the show in the support side.Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.![]()

It's fanetics, yo!Conceded?his brother has absolute disdain for Jimmy's path which is absolutely conceded and indignant

Yeah, Jimmy is maybe the 3rd-most compelling character on the show at this point.RN isn't the only one who had reservations. I believe all the parking garage scenes are filmed in the downtown Convention Center location, including the HHM ones.Maybe all parking garages in ABQ look alike, but something about the view from the one Mike got his job in looked a little like the one Walter used in his aborted attempt to take down Gus Fring.
Not so fast.So Jimmy takes the $20k, rents an office in a strip mall, a big inflatable statue of liberty, and becomes Saul Goodman.
This show is so predictable.
It's not an embarrassment; it's smart marketing.Raider Nation said:I wish this were a joke, but it's all too real. We have our own Saul Goodman. IN PAIN, CALL WAYNE!
He's even stolen the "Better Call" shtick. What an embarrassment. He's got billboards all over the place. Seems like a good time to take up graffiti.
Pretty close. He's involved in everything except the Mike episode and he's been outstanding. He's not carrying the show.Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.![]()

Don't forget Mrs. Nguyen.Chuck has been far more interesting thus far.
I find him annoying.Chuck has been far more interesting thus far.
Yes. That's all he's done.Saul's time is coming, but the most intriguing things he's done so far is take the crazy people's money and make out some wills.
So he's carrying the show in your estimation?Odenkirk is the lead and he's doing a great job on a great show. Give him his due already.
you're way off hereSaul's time is coming, but the most intriguing things he's done so far is take the crazy people's money and make out some wills.
absolutely (with help from great writing, directing, and a supporting cast too).So he's carrying the show in your estimation?Odenkirk is the lead and he's doing a great job on a great show. Give him his due already.
Which parts did I miss?you're way off hereSaul's time is coming, but the most intriguing things he's done so far is take the crazy people's money and make out some wills.
