***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (1 Viewer)

Some serious character develop going on here. Jimmy is no longer willing to put up with a cup holder. He's almost Saul!

OK I will admit that episode was a snoozefest. Still a perfectly written, directed, and acted snoozefest but a snoozefest nonetheless.

Mike likely going to hire Jimmy to defend him on the gun charge.  Hopefully we resigns from D&M soon.  Its starting to drag a little.  I get it, they are micromanaging him, time to move it along.

Some are complaining that the episodes are "slow".  Well, so am I (slow), so I appreciate it.  Gives me a change to recognize and process things I may have otherwise missed.  Absolutely love this show right now.
you should check out the extended preview for next week ;)

but even a boring episode of this show is leagues better than almost any other show i can think of right now
Not disagreeing because I do enjoy the camera work. I do like other shows better though. I enjoy TWD better (yes I know the writing is miles apart) but it entertains me every episode and I like the characters. I like GoT & Mr Robot better. So its in my top 4.

I do agree they need to move things along a little bit. They are going at a snails pace.

whats with saul opening his fridge ...smelling the chinese leftovers ...making a face like yuck...and then putting it back in the fridge ....who does that ...throw it out ...lazy writing
I'll tell you who does that, my wife - when he did that I shouted "that's you!" and laughed my ### off.  She didn't find it funny.

She treats the fridge the way they do at my office - once a month toss everything.

Another great ep IMHO....the show seems like a cross between BrBa and MadMen at times.  I agree that we are due for a payoff on the Saul storyline soon.   The tension between Howard and Kim was so awesomely displayed...I literally cringed....

its awesome that she now has another option on the table ...that should shake  things up soon

Totally agree. The show has always looked like Breaking Bad. I mentioned to the wife as we were watching the last episode that there were shots that felt like Mad Men.

Another solid episode... Reading through here, Mike is in Breaking Bad too? What is he, like an 80 year old enforcer in that show? Does he get written off due to dementia?

No, he's not in Breaking Bad. That's his 10 years younger identical twin brother Ike. He invents sexting and retires to the Dutch Antilles where he opens a training school for Gila Monster rodeo clowns. I should probably have put that in spoilers. Oh well.

Only one post during the episode? I guess that means many have the same feeling that I do: it's a good show, but not "OMG, I cannot wait to talk about it" great. And before anyone flips out and says I am hating on it, I am not.  Again, it is a good show, and I am in it for the duration; it's just not wowing me.

maybe we are sitting down soaking it all in ...enjoying the flavor before jumping on the internet to rave about it

Lotta setup in this episode. Won't know for sure how I feel about it until we see how it pays off. This is a great episode if you're binge watching. Tougher when you have to wait a week.

One of the better montage sequences for me since the caper one in the first season*.

I couldn't place the music, but because of the percussion (and overall sound) thought it might be a band like Mandrill - the song was Scorpio by Dennis Coffey, guitarist of Motown's legendary Funk Brothers house band fame. Scorpio was a rare million selling instrumental (cracked the top 10 in the Billboard Soul chart), featuring a killer bass breakdown by fellow Funk Brother Bob Babbit.

Coffey became the first white artist to "perform" on Soul Train (I think the second was Bowie with Fame and Golden Years?).

Guess we'll never know how that Sandpiper case goes.

Didn't Jimmy try to have his own practice ... and failed? What makes him think it will be different this time?

Maybe the Cocobolo desk will make all the difference. I'm sure clients will be impressed when he takes them back there to show them.

renewed vigor ....but we all know he wont make it being a straight shooter...thats how he will become Saul....but he couldnt become Saul working at a firm so he had to leave

Yep, the montage was great, especially when he admitted that he was the one who didn't flush.  :lmao: :lmao:

74% sure that wasn't a real playboy cover.
What's scary is that was a real "MAD" magazine cover because I remember it. They were spoofing a 70's detective show "Cannon". The detective was pretty fat, so the name of the spoofed show was "Cannonball".

From the realization that he just can't quit outright to when he is finally fired was fantastic television.  So well done.  There are a ton of other shows which wouldn't have played out the end the way BCS did - meaning, having the partner tell Jimmy that he is aware what Jimmy is doing.
