Bingo. That and I'm actually WATCHING the show and not interesting in typing and reading what others think about it at that exact second.

I took it as Jimmy not wanting his dad to realize he had been duped again.  If his dad saw the $8 in the drawer, he would have been embarrassed/ashamed so Jimmy wanted to protect him.  The money that Chuck discovered missing from the drawer all those years later was, for the most part, money that his dad gave away to all the scam artists.

I was disappointed too.  He just seemed so devoted to Chuck, even though its clear that Chuck treats him poorly.   I thought that he'd protect his family above all.  I was surprised when he stole the money.   It seems clear that his dad gave away a good portion of that missing money, but Jimmy probably played a much bigger role than I imagined. 

Still, it seems that his motivation for taking the money was different than what Chuck described.  It wasn't that Jimmy "couldn't help himself".  If he kept taking money, it had nothing to do with Jimmy being weak.  He saw his father as a sheep and lost respect for him.  That scene made it seem like Jimmy took money out of disgust, anger & loss of respect for his father.  He decided that he wasn't going to be a schmuck like his father.

That didn't even occur to me.  Hopefully they show him giving the money to his mom in another episode. 

Chuck's perspective is somewhat right though in that his dad was a saint, to the point of being a total schmuck.

 
I guess I'll have to watch this last episode again, but this time sober, as I don't remember half of the #### you guys are talking about :bag:  

 
I do not now recall, but when they showed Jimmy's closet was his Hamlindigo blue tie hanging there, how about his Abilene Cowboy suit or his Matlock get up?  Jimmy believes the clothes help sell the conman.

 
Questions

- Does Jimmy's "two practices one roof" arrangement with Kim go down in flames early?  Or do they string it along until next season?

- Why was Mike doing recon on the cartel at the end?  Is he looking for some leverage in case they threaten him again?

- Why do I get the feeling that we haven't seen the last of Omar? Why bother showing what a good guy he is delivering the desk if they're just going to write him off.

Comments

- Jimmy slipping the money into his pocket didn't bother me. I assume he rationalized it as "If you're gonna be a sucker and give your money away, just give it to me."

- One of my favorite lines was Mike " You're taking the next one. And bill me."

Also, the guy that played Sobchak is the guy that voiced Trevor in Grand Theft Auto V. All-time classic video game voicing.

"The gun was yours" isn't close to the same thing as "I don't think the gun was Tuco's, I'm not saying it was or wasn't mine, maybe he found it on the sidewalk while punching me in the face :shrug: "

Couldn't the DA still have a good shot of making the gun charge stick to Salamanca? I mean the gun only had Tuco's prints, and there simply isn't any rationale other scenario regarding the gun without Mike saying it was his.

Jimmy told them to drop the gun charge against Tuco or Mike would testify for the defense at trial. So he didn't have to take the fall himself (yet) and still gets the DA to drop the charges.

 
Why do they call it Better Call Saul when no one on the show is named Saul?
