I think I have monkeyed with my lineup, well over 250 times.

Right now I finally have what I want-I wish I could send it off (So I don't mess around more)

2 QB's-Both solid starters

5 RB's-I'm very comfortable with what I have

7 WR's-Not a strength 2 serviceable players, 3 so so WR's and 2 deep threat types.

2 TE's-Both heavy on the value proposition. Not high performers currently.

3 K's-Who cares, just don't over spend.

3 D's-Very solid options and not expensive.

22 players-Spent it all.

I've been alternating between 23/24 deep...the problem I have this year is I don't see a Slaton on the roster at RB...forcing me to spend more there than I'd like...well, there's one guy, but not as much of a slam dunk as Slaton was.That could be good and bad.

was it just 2 years ago where Frank Gore was incredibly cheap? This year, I agree, I'm not seeing an easy choice at RB - a few I like a lot for their price, but no RB real good real cheap.

Last year I had the ultimate strategy at QB, going all in on Warner to be a stud. I spent $10 on 3 QB's and had great production there every week. I was able to spend big on Moss (Brady's injury) and LT which did not pan out as well as expected, and was eliminated week 10 due to lack of production at WR and RB. If I had picked the right studs I would have gone further. I don't see an opportunity like that exists this year to save that big at a key position. Definitely some great value picks out there, but nothing like the opportunity that Warner gave last year.

Ok i spent alot of time trying to figure out value plays as well as bye weeks conflicts for the whole team.

Spent 249 on 24 guys

3QB's (STUD-Underrated-upside backup)

7RB's (STUD-and the rest all the hyped and fav sleepers of FBG, shouldnt be to hard to figure out)

7WR's (2nd tier STUD-Upcoming STUD-old man-F&L-Rookie of the Year-and some solid sleepers)

3TE's (nice stragedy here...i have 2 that everyone will have rostered and one that will fly under the radar)

2K's

2DEF's (top dawgs)

I dont think i will be changing it too much...(ok i might be lying, this #### so addictive to changing)

9 WR, with only 1 above $12, mostly high-upside guys and several feast or famine type guys

3 TE, 2 value picks and one gamble

2 PK, both are studs

2 TD, both are studs

If we could predict this year's performance on last years, we would all be psychic. I imagine it does provide some intelligent guidance, but you still have to find those cheap nuggets that turn to gold and which good players will step up to elite status.

Good point, my statement was confusing. There's a delicate balance between grabbing the value plays and having a roster unique enough to separate yourself in the finals.

I stink at this game every year. However, I selected my team early and quite a few of my cheaper guys have looked really good in the preseason & have won their perspective jobs or the backup position.

QB: Stud (top 3 guy) and solid backup than won the job in camp.

RB: 3 starters in the $20 range & 4 cheap backs (1 has won the starting job and another has a good shot).

WR: 2 top 20 WR's, 2 cheap #1 WR's for their respected teams, and other WR's (few rookies & a few #2 guys with upside)

TE: 2 mid-tier guys ranked in the 8-12 range.

K: stud & cheap backup

D: 2 cheaper D's.

As always - you have to get lucky on some gambles and your team needs to stay healthy to have a chance to win. Is this my year? Chances are - NO.

It was mostly to confirm my belief to load up on players in positions with high standard deviations in weekly points. It doesn't say anything about which actual players to take. Consistency is overrated. I'd rather have two players who could score between 2 and 20 points a week, over one player who will consistently put up 10.

I think the point is that at week 9 having 2 guys combine for 20 points probably isn't going to be enough to get through the cut...where as having 2 guys that could combine for 40 gives them a better chance. Bring this out to your 8 key scoring positions (QB, 2RB, 3wr, 1 TE and 1 Flex) you have a chance to score 160, instead of a most likely probability of scoring 80 (and not making the cut).In addition, by loading up on these guys you don't need to start everyone every week or are faced with the chance of choosing the wrong one since it's best ball. So if 2 of them score 2's for the week, the idea is that you'll have 2 score 20 as well.

Agree that this is a pretty good guess...I only have 1 of them right now....however I don't think any of them are really going to make a difference.I think you're wrong on the WR, but I'm not going to say who i think it is.

Remade my team today, most likely the last time barring some injury or other shocking news:

Qb: spent $29, 1 Top 3 (imo) potential player, 1 hope my top player doesn't get hurt player

RB; Spent $98 1 Stud, 1 Quality Back, 2 hit or misses (week by week), 1 vet

WR: Spent $100 2 low tier studs, 1 solid vet, 2 hit or misses (this is for a season, they'll live up to the hype or they won't), 1 rookie, 1 long shot

TE: spent $17 1 upper-mid pack guy, 1 sleeper

K: Spent $2 2 $1 Kickers

Def: Spent $4 3 defenses

Here's my rationale:

QB-> You need a qb that can score a ton of points, but didn't want to pay top dollar for it. The back up should give me steady performances to limit the downside of my QB1

RB -> Went back and forth between a 3 mid-tier or a stud and 1 mid-tier. With the 2 hit or misses on the roster I figured the 3rd mid-tier would just leave points on the bench more often than not.

WR -> with ppr i wanted players that are thrown to consitently, but also had big play potential (i.e. multiple td game possibilities). Also took some chances on up and coming players and some who i think will greatly outplay their cost.

TE -> Even with the 1.5 ppr I believe it's important to have a good tight end not necessarily a great one.

K -> was toying with having 3 and hoping that one each week had a big game. In the end, i don't think it matters too much. I took 2 kickers who i think will have a lot of FG opportunities.

Def -> Have gone the stud route and the cheapskate route before. I decided it was better more defenses to increase the chance of 1 having a score.

All in all, i believe I'm susceptible to injury as i don't have much depth. But I'm in it to win the top prize not get into the money, so i'm ok with the risk I'm taking. i took mostly guys who can carry my team if they have a big week.

This year: top QB is 28% owned, next is 16%.

Last year: Slaton 57%, Ricky Williams 49%, Rice 44%

This year: top RBs are at 32, 30, and 28

The distributions of ownership at WR, TE, K, and D are very similar to last year's.

Injuries seem to kill me in this thing every year, so I like the extra 4 spots.

Think I'll likely be going with the following:

QB (3) - $75 - Expecting big numbers from here all season

RB (7) - $59 - NO STUDS...quantity over high quality...Mostly complementary guys who are in good/great PPR situations...injuries to top guys will make this a strength with many unique names

WR (7) - $60 - Like RB, went with quantity over high quality...With PPR, I should be OK here and couple picks are looking very good with preseason finished!

TE (3) - $43 - Could be 3 of the top targeted TEs this season...at 1.5 PPR and considering TDs regressing back up to the mean, this may be the strength of my team.

PK (2) - $4 - Two kickers. I just hope neither pulls a Grammatica.

DEF (2) - $9 - Personal choice for special teams points and the preseason's best D.

Now to sit back and watch my team go down in flames again...
