What was the lady who is the head of this group in KC saying about Henry? She was making references to him but I missed what she was saying.

Another unpopular opinion, I'm sure. I loved the actress playing Ellie when she was on GoT but not so much here. I know she is supposed to be annoying but it's almost too much.

Maybe you should just stop watching. This is exactly how her character is in the game.
I'm just curious. Is it your opinion that every character in the TV series has to be like they were in the game? Thanks.

The two maim characters should be

My point was if he doesn't like the show after 4 episodes and finds her annoying he might as well stop because she ain't changing. Thats how she is in the game and that's how they wrote her character for the show

Really supposed to buy this actress as the tough leader of the local militia?

I'll give it one more episode but it just isn't grabbing me.
Love her, but she's very underwhelming in this roll imo. Great episode still, big fan overall
Is she the neighbor in Two and a half Men?

Rose! Is Rose the most likable, reasonable stalker ever?

I love the show so far but her being the leader doesn’t work for me. At all. In that situation none of those dudes would be listening to her and that’s an understatement.

She’s also overweight and walks too slow. She would have already been dead. REALLY forced and out of place for me.

I think she’s great. Very good actor. The scene with her pointing and aiming the pistol, trying to toy around with which eye to close/aim with. Very nuanced and natural. The chemistry between her and Joel works. You can tell he doesn’t want to get close because it hurts but she is slowly winning him over with her funny/witty personality.

She’s phenomenal.

Yea I like her too.

Can I have a gun?

Absolutely not?

Ok I’ll just throw a f’n sandwich at them

The 2nd game is fantastic.

Period.
User reviews were mostly super-positive, and like I said before I was a huge fan of the first game, so I'm inclined to think that you're probably right.

The issue is that we are drowning in fantastic games, fantastic shows, and fantastic movies. I never played TLOU2 and never felt like I missed out on anything at all, because I just played some other top-shelf game instead. It's not 1990, and I don't have to put up with culture war sludge to enjoy media anymore. I can just costly skip over that stuff and consume media that isn't so intentionally divisive.
So you're skipping the game and show because it has gay characters?
No, of course not. What I'm getting at is that there's a particular marketing strategy that certain content creators use these days, where the intentionally stoke culture war fights as a way of getting their product in the news. Star Wars does this. So did the new Lord of the Rings show. TLOU didn't do this, but TLOU2 did. I just skip over these products. I don't want politics in my entertainment consumption.
OK fair enough. Thanks for answering. So what sides are on the culture war in this case? I've honestly not seen it called that, although I don't follow politics much. I have seen the "shoved down my throat" phrase that Todem mentioned and I do understand that reference.

Dude, stop. They closed the political forum.

Edit: sorry the way the thread rolled out I didn't see this was a couple days ago.

Two things in this episode for me. She was miscast and out of place. As you said, that bunch is not following her. Other thing, that skinny kid pinning Joel down and would have choked him out if not for Ellie. Joel can’t get that kid off of him, I don’t know how he’s survived twenty years in this world.

Then go ahead and kill an actual doctor in a post apocalyptic world over a personal vendetta. I'm sure everyone's cool with that around you...lol

I watched some clips from the game and the girl voicing Ellie gives a much more subtle performance. Definitely not exactly the same. A lot more nuance in the game and the same with Joel tbh.

Episode three was by far the best episode imo. This last one was probably the worst. The lil girl is keeping me in it. She's funny at least.
What was good about E3? What I liked about it was the survivalist guy before the love making and the girl was funny.

Honestly the show version is much much better. Impressed with the improvement, actually.

Haven't we evolved enough that we're not making fun of people like this? It's not like she's being presented as a supermodel. She's just an actor who is a normal looking person. It just seems like an odd thing to say.

She looks a bit odd because the character has a scar over her right eye, so she only has about half an eyebrow on that side. It's part of her backstory, and they definitely draw attention to it. It's not about being "evolved" or not. Her look is intentional and part of her character. The writers have said that it gets explained later.

Evolved? He made an observation. He didn’t call her a troll. She definitely has a distinct look. I noticed the eyebrow thing too.

Some people are hyper observant. That doesn’t make them awful people.

Don't let these guys get to you. It's okay to acknowledge that the actress who plays Ellie is a little funny-looking in the same way that Steve Buscemi is funny-looking. Her agent knows what she looks like, and so do casting directors. We might pretend not to notice, but the people who are paid to notice this sort of thing definitely notice it. I assumed she was cast for this role, in part, because she's not conventionally cute or girly. That would certainly be a valid and defensible artistic decision.

Huh? She looks like that in real life too

You're intentionally being obtuse. He didn't say anything about her eyebrow. He made two negative observations about the actor's physical appearance that have nothing to do with the character.

Evolved? Yes. As in matured.

Mature is being able to have an honest discussion without getting all worked up and pushing your morality on others.

If she was attractive people would say so and you wouldn’t say anything as long as they didn’t get gross about it. Nobody said she’s an ugly little freak and…

If she was a double amputee we would comment on it.

If she was super tall we would comment on it.

If she had nose piercings with a chain connected to her navel we would discuss it

If she has a larger forehead somebody might observe that….

He wasn’t mean about it.

GAME PEOPLE- PLEASE DONT SPOIL THIS! NO HINTS OR ANYTHING!

So what’s up with the thing under the basement floor? A big tree root or some type of larger monster?
