Am so glad I decided to stick with this series. Can't wait to rewatch from the pilot. Outstanding tv
Not really, just start it back up from where you left and enjoy the slow burnIf we bailed after episode 4, can we jump back into the last 2 episodes or so and still have a clue what's going on? Those first 4 were rough to get through.
Agreed. However, I'm not sure how this could be made better by a second season.Turned out to be a good season and a really good finale. Have to say I wasn't expecting to ever like this 2 months ago.
I think IIRC, the premise was that everyone was out at the Christmas thing in town. A bit of a stretch that the entire town would go, but living in small towns before, I could see how it could happen.Episode 4 wasn't horrible other than the cliche chase from the hospital. How does the guilty remenant break into every house and not a single one of them wakes up anyone or get caught? Seems like a weird scheme.

just caught up with the finale. Really good season of tv. The episodes that focused on the preacher and Nora ( guest ) were excellent.Episodes nine and ten were just off the charts great. By some other "God" person? Not the guy that died in the bathroom.jplvr said:What if the missing people were all wished away?
That's pretty much the theory that my wife and I decided on.jplvr said:What if the missing people were all wished away?
Or the problem people were the leftovers who were left to be miserable. I don't see Nora's entire family or the mentally challenged kid as problems for somebody. That's pretty much the theory that my wife and I decided on.jplvr said:What if the missing people were all wished away?
All of the people (that we know about) that "poofed" were a problem to somebody that remained behind.
Wasn't she fighting with her family when they went away? Maybe she thought to herself "I wish I didn't have to deal with this" or something.Or the problem people were the leftovers who were left to be miserable. In the moment before they disappeared Nora was frustrated by her whole family. Her husband was a cheating ahole and her kids were freaking out.Or the problem people were the leftovers who were left to be miserable. This. That was actually covered in the show.In the moment before they disappeared Nora was frustrated by her whole family. Doubtful. But her husband, wondering where she had run off to this time, might have.I've seen that speculated on a bunch. I think where it fails is that only 2% of the population would be wished away at any given point in time. And was Garvey really wishing away that chick as he was railing her from behind?

True, and I did get it from somewhere else. I just wondered if it had been discussed here.I've seen that speculated on a bunch. Confirmed that we won't.True, and I did get it from somewhere else. I just wondered if it had been discussed here.I've seen that speculated on a bunch. I doubt we will ever be given a reason, and if I were writing the show, I might disprove the theory in the following season if it gained too much traction, but I thought it was cool. Maybe Garvey was starting to think about his exit strategy after he climaxed. Maybe all the people who vanished were being wished away at exactly that moment, like the mother with her crying baby in the supermarket. But really, it's just a cool, thought provoking, probably not remotely correct theory we can chew on.

Gotcha all now. I thought you meant ONE person wished away all these people, like Garvey (one person) got a "wish" in the finale.This. That was actually covered in the show.In the moment before they disappeared Nora was frustrated by her whole family. And while they would never admit it, it's not outside the realm of possibility to suspect that a family taking care of their mentally challenged son might occasionally wish that they didn't have to.
Thanks. Knew he was familiar but couldn't place him.Elvin (Alvin?) from the Cosby show is the preacher who offered Kevin's son help in the parking lot. Put on some weight.
Don't think this is a spoiler, but they've significantly "rebooted" the show, keeping only a few characters and putting them in a new town in Texas that, for whatever reason, suffered no departures. It's an interesting and probably a good move ultimately, as it appears like the new setting will be able to provide more clues as to why the whole thing happened.Dammit. Missed it. Forgot it was starting again.
####ing hilarious, to be exact. The Perfect Strangers bit was also pretty great.
