***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (3 Viewers)

So censors almost pulled that episode presumably because of the sex scene.

Mothers of America are so damned twisted...you can show all forms of murder, death and mayhem for years on this show...but if anyone does anything so natural as have sex and it sets off all alarms.
well, kids shouldn't watch this show anyhow so basically the mothers of america are trying to protect their adult age husbands, nephews and sons.

so one thing that happened yesterday; AMC airs it at 6PM west coast and 9 or 10 PM rerun. THe 6PM one that my dvr recorded was censored, they had some language blacked out. The later show is uncensored. Stupid.

look, with the state of modern entertainment, just let the cable companies show porn as far as I'm concerned. Like in Quebec, past 11PM you can watch hardcore porn on public tv.
Or with a show like this, somehow just show it at 9pm in all time zones. So I get to see it three hours before people on the west coast. So ####### what??

Thinking season First half ends with them all in the Heading to the Atlanta hospital.
*FixedOnly 2 episodes left until the "break" .. So figure we get caught up on what happened to Carol and Daryl on their :drive: and the Mullet group joins back up with the gang back at the Church and make plans to get Beth..
Are they breaking after episode 7 of 16 or are there 3 episodes left?
Last show is December 1st. Three more.

If I could drive any vehicle through the zombie wasteland I'd probably go with a protractor.
If I could hit a button that instantly sends you a dollar for this post, I would. That should be an option.
I've got a template for one.

Still not one mention from Maggie about her sister.

If you had a Walking Dead drinking game where you had to drink every time that Maggie appears to show any concern for that fact that her younger sister has been kidnapped by persons unknown in the middle of the zombie apocalypse, then you'd have the worst drinking game ever.
I'd be willing to bet she has no clue that Beth was taken, or even survived the prison attack.
I have a hard time believing that Darryl didn't tell Maggie that Beth was taken. I'm kind of shocked as well that Maggie isn't out there looking for her sister. I know I would be. Instead she's on some fools errand.

This was discussed earlier yesterday, but there was voiceover in the season premiere that proved me wrong. I was basing what I said off of a Twitter QA that one of the writers did a couple of weeks ago after Maggie and Glen left with Abraham. He stated - incorrectly, it seems - that Maggie doesn't know yet. It does appear, though, that Maggie is simply in survival mode. There really isn't much room to grieve or go out of your way to look for a loved one in this world, although they do seem to do a lot of the latter to keep the viewers happy.

I guess I'm in the minority but I wasn't a fan of this episode as much as others. I don't care enough about these people yet to have an entire hour dedicated to them. Same with last week's Beth episode. I don't know why they can't keep all the storylines moving forward together.

So Abrahams family deserted him because he was too crazy in the new world and then they promptly get killed? Is that what happened or did I totally miss that. I was pretty hammered last night.
That and he couldn't control his temper. Those men raped his wife while he was out on a supply run. He went nuts and killed them... and he may have took it out on her a little too. But whatever happened, she feared for her and her kids so much that she was willing to try it away from him. They made it just outside the front door.
wait, what?
It was on Talking Dead. I don't normally tune in but I caught that part of it. Guess they're trying to make that show "must watch" by giving plot info in it.
This is fn horrible.

Watching here in Central Time( Show runs from 8pm to 9pm) earlier in the episode someone said "*hit " and it was censored.. Later, after 8:30pm someone else said it and it was not censored..

I think the producers to this day regret toning down Ricks statement at the end of last season so are willing to put some of the actual dialogue in now and let AMC censor it if they want.. Could get interesting..

I still don't understand where all the solar panels, dynamos, walkie talkies etc., went. By now there should be a ton of chatter on ham radio.

I watch some of the Inside the Walking Dead segments. For this last ep, Cudlitz explained that his character (and fam) was with a crew and while he went on a supply run, his crew raped his wife. -Looks like they are giving plot info in multiple places. Ugh.

My question: maybe the brutality of the kills, of people they knew, was too much for his wife?

I'm also central time zone and none of it was censored. I'm on satellite if that makes a difference.

wasn't it pretty obvious that those dudes raped his wife? he flat out says to her that those guys won't hurt her again. in this world guys don't just beat up women. they rape and beat up women.

It seemed very clear something bad happened to the wife so it wasn't a stretch to think she was raped. I agree that there was more backstory provided on The Talking Dead for those of us who don't read the comics but the episode itself delivered enough clear signs that something really bad had happened and Abraham was responding to it. I thought that was pretty clearly spelled out.

You were confused about the flashback I take it?

I just love how you love everything to the point of defending it no matter what. Keep on truckin'. :drive:

Yeah I love the show. Not even attempting to pretend otherwise. I don't defend everything and don't love everything, though. For example, I barely posted in this thread last week because the Beth episode didn't do much for me. But I liked this episode a lot more. And I felt in this instance it was pretty obvious something bad had happened to Abraham's family (or at least his wife). I didn't think there was a lot of confusion about that.

I do agree they shouldn't be using The Talking Dead to provide episode details that aren't clearly or at least being strongly indicated within the episode itself.

To a non book reader nor talking dead watcher, can you explain why after Abraham defended her honor by killing her rapists, she in turn fled him? Is this something the TV show only watchers don't need to know, or did I just miss it?

IIRC, on the talking dead cudlitz said something about the couple being estranged, so they weren't an existing happy loving family as it was. also mentioned that they finally saw what daddy does for work (soldier)

I don't read the comics so I don't know how they explained it there or if they did. But I think you could reason that she took the kids because she saw a side of Abraham that truly frightened her and she didn't want to be around him anymore.

Or you can chalk it up to chicks often do really stupid chit.

Someone mentioned that it was discussed in the comics but I don't remember it. Of course, I did tend to skim over some of the long dialogue.

Yeah, comic books can get pretty wordy.

magnum opus

:finger:

You obviously haven't read it. Plenty of pages of just sitting around with not much happening. Some issues are just plain boring.
I read at least one of them.

They're great...if you're a 7th grader.

That is what the flash back was about. They explained it on Talking Dead.
I'm really disliking that they're doing this more and moreso lately.

The episode doesn't fully tell the story so they use "Talking Dead" as a fix to cover those issues...

I don't know of any other show that gets away with this...
terrible

I's been a good season, but doing this is unforgivable

I'm calling BS on this

That was tame even by network TV standards...

Eugene watching was way worse than the non-HC sex scene depicted.

It was clear that something bad had happened to his wife. It was unclear why it led her to wanting to get her and her kids away from Abraham after he killed some bad guys.

I get the hate for Eugene, but I like his character. Rooting for him.
Ditto.
:goodposting: he is a desperate man who found a niche that he believed was the only reason people would keep him alive. 90% of us are not Rick or Daryl and would look to do the same thing :)
:goodposting: McDermitt said the same thing on The Talking Dead. He said most people wish they were like Rick or Daryl or Michonne but in reality they'd probably be a lot more like Eugene. One of the biggest themes on the show since the beginning was what were you prepared or willing to do in order to survive? For Eugene it was coming up with a lie so he'd have someone to keep him safe since he knew he wouldn't last on his own.
