I see Obama's Socialist agenda of anti-2nd Amendment, pro-amnesty, Agenda 21 de-industrialization is in trouble. They need to grease the wheels of fear and politicizing a shooting in CA is not going to do it. People become numbed to the politics of shootings. The public attitude is "Oh, another shooting..." The political elite have over played this political card. So they ramp up the rhetoric for a big terrorist attack. But if nothing happens, it only numbs the people more. In order to pass big new laws against freedom like another Patriot Act, they have to get a reaction and sustain the frenzy. That is why 9/11 worked. It was a sustained frenzy of fear. There is no way to carry out another WTC 7 with everyone watching from the get go. We are governed by some very, very sick, sick evil people.

Apparently she killed the first cop while he was filling a cup at a soda fountain. She shot him point blank in the back of the head. She immediately turned and opened fire on the second cop. She then stalked the armed civilian and shot him in the head from behind. In the Walmart bathroom she shot and killed Jared before turning the gun on herself. Quite possible all five deaths were her doing.

I agree with Rove. It's not really a joking matter. Marijuana is relatively harmless for most of us (and I have no problem with its legalization). But for people who are mentally ill, it can be a huge problem.

What is the relationship between marijuana and mental illness?
The overwhelming consensus from mental health professionals is that marijuana is not helpful—and potentially dangerous—for people with mental illness. Using marijuana can directly worsen symptoms of anxiety, depression or schizophrenia through its actions on the brain. People who smoke marijuana are also less likely to actively participate in their treatment—missing more appointments and having more difficulty with medication-adherence—than people who abstain from using this drug.
The relationship between marijuana and psychotic illness, specifically schizophrenia, has been studied for many years and is receiving increasing publicity in the mainstream media. Certainly not all people who smoke marijuana will develop schizophrenia, but people who are at risk of developing this illness—including individuals with close family relatives that have severe mental illness—will be more likely to experience psychosis if they are using marijuana. In this population of individuals, people who regularly smoke marijuana are diagnosed with schizophrenia at a younger age, hospitalized more frequently for their illness and are less likely to experience complete recovery even with high quality treatment. This is particularly concerning, as approximately one-third of people in America with schizophrenia regularly abuse marijuana.

I wonder if I was carrying a weapon, and the shooters are telling people to get out (rather than killing anyone) if I draw down on him or just GTFO. I'd be curious to hear what some gun owners would do in this situation.

Pretty clear to me he is dead solely because he pulled out that gun. Another example of guns in the hands of the citizenry causing the death of innocents.

And .... Neil McKeganey, PhD, professor of drug misuse at the University of Glasgow in Scotland- notes that scientists have not yet uncovered evidence linking marijuana use to the brain changes routinely seen in people who suffer from mental illness.
And... Paul P. Casadonte, MD, a psychiatrist and associate clinical professor at New York University, cautions in an interview that research is not yet strong enough to show a causal link between marijuana use and serious mental disorders.

They suggest that drugs which target the cannabinoid system are “a new therapeutic possibility for psychotic disorders.” However, they warn that drug studies so far have not had straightforward results, with different types of drug showing different effects.
But despite all these limitations, cannabidiol, a compound found in cannabis that activates cannabinoid receptors, has shown fairly consistent antipsychotic properties in animal tests. Recent studies indicate that cannabidiol may be as effective as antipsychotics in treating schizophrenia.
So it can also be a possible help against psychotic issues?
Sounds like more research is needed.
