Post NFL Draft 25 Survivor (2 Viewers)

The #Falcons are expecting a breakout season from TE Kyle Pitts in 2025, says OC Zac Robinson.

“I’m expecting Kyle [Pitts] to take a big jump. You know… year two of the system. Year two of understanding what we’re trying to do offensively. All those things that come with it, so expecting a lot of good things from Kyle. He knows what he needs to work on with the details, some of the fundamentals and techniques, the consistency down in and down out, those are things we talk about with him.”

3 picks since 10:00 last night
1 all day today so far...

And FYI I am on the road starting Friday thru Mother's Day, I do have my phone but will be in and out of coverage at times.
BSS is my point man, he can find me

1.11: Josh Jacobs, RB Packers - sure, I may have reached a little for Jacobs as RB6, but I'm quite bullish on him, especially after the Pack upgraded their WR corps in the Draft, which, IMHO, will stress the defense and give Jacobs even more room to operate, in a high-ceiling offense in which he's the featured weapon. A legit Alpha RB, who can catch, and I'm not worried about anyone in the RB room compromising touches. Rookies Bowers and Jeanty being drafted ahead of me actually pushed some things down my way that I didn't expect, so I chose to get 'my guy', who I didn't expect to last to 2.06, and see what fell to me 10 picks later. Would have had to think real hard if ARStB was available, and waffled over Nabers for a bit before pulling the trigger.

2.06: Jonathan Taylor, RB Colts - Can't beleive I'm saying this, but I'm eager to see what happens with Daniel Jones and the Colts. Coaching staff should get more out of him than he showed in NYG, he will be involved in the offense, and that could be a net positive for Taylor's efficiency and involvement in the passing game and red zone (I think 32 receptions is a reasonable projection). DJ may even have a + effect on AR development, and that's good for the entire offense. Not worried about Tyler Warren either; there's more than enough for a true Alpha to put up RB1-tier #'s.
After 2 subpar seasons, the bounce-back 2024 has me optimistic Taylor can build on that and finish at least as RB10 where I drafted him. Have to start 2 RB minimum, and while I think I have the best 1-2 punch in the League, we'll see if it costs me elsewhere.

More to follow...

Moving forward, the 'buddy system' , where everybody drafting has a fellow drafter has 'point man' as you called it, randomly assigned to them, might be a great way to increase the time efficiency of these Drafts.

Wow did that suck. Almost went TE in round 6, but had a list of TEs I was happy with at least 5 deep. Only to watch all of them go off the board in short order. When I went to bed this AM I had Goedert and Ertz in that order only a couple away...and of COURSE Goedert went as somebodies #2.

(Warren, Loveland, Pitts were my top 3....with Warren sitting at FBG redraft rank #27 I really thought he was safe to wait on for at least another round)

But hey, at least Ertz keeps the old man theme going

hoping that he will check in before 8-hour clock expires, but @BassNBrew is there a mechanism to move forward if the clock runs out?
Skip pick in the commish tab.
I would much rather we did that and then whenever he checks in or posts, just add the guy he selects at that point
And I don't think Biabreak will be upset, he understands at some point we gotta move forward

agreed...but the thing is.... this has already kind of been an "issue" and his attitude seems very dismissive and he doesn't care about holding the draft hostage....how many more times are we going to waste a whole day doing this when he is otc....almost like it's on purpose at this point....in the "old days" it used to be after you timeout at 8 hours your clock gets reduced to 4 and then 2 so on....it's not like he got caught in the overnight/time zone thing or something....

eta: insert the "its a slow draft....we all have actual real life stuff going on" excuse that is always the fall back response here....

If it’s legit, it’s understood. But yeah, 8 hours is excessive unless there’s an emergency.

I agree with your idea that we move ahead and if he doesn't check back by the next time it's his turn to pick
Clock should drop from 8 to 4...it's not personal it's just how things roll

I don't want to try and interpret his posts, maybe he's having a bad week.
Maybe his wife is premenopausal like mine right now, she's divorced me twice in 8 days

When do the clocks stop at night or do they?
Someone has it stop on them at 10-11:00 at night and wakes up at 7am, that doesn't count as 8 hours does it?

An example is of you come in the clock at 8pm Eastern, you would have until Noon the next day.

But, it is much preferred for drafters to check in more regularly, unless a problem occurs. Kind of an u written rule.

from what I can see …the “clock” isn’t even on right now…
That is correct, “we” as a group monitor and today is the first instance of using the entire eight hour clock. I had planned to check in at 10:00 pm and manually make the skip pick, but evidently you did that a little before, but still after the full eight hours.

Since it was not stated before, I propose to allow @Biabreakable to keep an eight hour clock, but going forward if the clock time is exceeded, the offender’s time allowed will be reduced by half.

Yeah thats fine.

Sorry I knew I was a few picks away last I had checked.

Then I had food coma.

I will take Mike Gesicki TE Bengals.

Nobody is mad
Some folks get frustrated, very understandable
All good, glad you're here

When I was looking at RBs earlier ... they're horrible.

I think that I like the knucklehead George Pickens in Dallas better than in Pittsburgh, thoughts among the group?

REF:

1.06 Justin Jefferson WR2 MIN

Little surprised to see 4 of first 5 picks be RB. Thought I’d be picking what was leftover between Bowers and Jefferson, but both available. Would have gone Bowers if still 2 PPR for TE. Jefferson a great place to start, IMO McCarthy no worse than Darnold (whatever that means) so should be ok. Addison looking at possible suspension, so maybe a few more early targets.

2.11 Josh Allen QB1 BUF

I fell for Bass’s BS before the draft about there maybe only being 30 for sure QB’s, so when the draft got to 16 owners I didn’t want to deal with the headache of deciding between like Rodgers and Daniel Jones or some **** as QB2. So went with one early and will snag another hopefully on the front side of the QB2 run. Survive and advance, Allen will help do that. Didn’t really consider anything else here.

3.06 Davante Adams WR18 LAR

Love his landing spot and he is a professional that keeps producing. Should gobble up targets with Puka.

4.11 Travis Kelce TE7 KC

Not dead yet. Should still see plenty of targets and we still get a little TE bump and pretty happy to see him available here. This kind of worked out as I had him a little above a couple TE’s drafted before him and then a drop off, so timing was good and felt there was a little value with this pick. I did however know it pretty much sealed my fate at RB.

5.06 Aaron Jones RB26 MIN

I rolled the dice and had two other guys I was hoping at least one would made it back to me. Neither did. So Jones it is. If you told me I could get 85% of his production last year right now, I would take it.

6.11 Colston Loveland TE13 CHI

So when I saw the rules where we could start 4 I thought the extra little bump we still get might be a place to make up some ground on the field. I’m gonna try it. Loveland was picked 10th overall and by a coach who will use him. I think he has top 5 TE potential right off the bat, and if so, I should benefit a little. I plan on probably filling at least two of my flex spots with TE, if not more. Little surprised he went after a couple TE’s taken before him.

7.06 Dallas Goedert TE19 PHI

Stick to the plan. Mission accomplished. Not sure how he lasted this long. Didn’t get traded, just reworked his contract, no competition, plays in an elite offense where he is basically the third option. Just stay healthy. There are two more I’m trout lookin to give me 4 options each week.

Moving forward, got a lot of work to do. I like the value the bottom four guys got at the end of the first beginning of second. Liked Bia getting Hampton. LaPorta at end of third seemed like great value. Bass locking down the DET backfield was pretty savvy. Ryheaps getting Kupp in the 7th could be solid.

8.05 Mr. Irrelevant Fields, Justin NYJ QB 12:53:33 p.m.

This was either a move of Howie-level genius or me punting my 8th-round pick directly into the Delaware River. Personally I’m setting that line at +150 / -200 but at least it’ll make my team a fun hang.

Definitely miss calculated the QB run I expected after my last turn picks. Turned into a TE run.

Took Warren out of a huge group of question marks or bad situations.

I like Strange, just fear that there will be too many mouths to feed in JAX. Hopefilully he turns in to a red zone security blanket for Lawrence.

Could be a great pick. I was hoping to get him in the 9/10 turn to pair with Burrow, figured that made for a nice pairing and if bye weeks work it’s a duo I’ll consider in the FBG contest. (If the price is right)

I don't get the TE love. Last year in this league TE21 went at 9.11 instead of 7.9. Last year we were coming off a prior year of huge TE performances, received 2 ppr instead of 1.5, and they filled one of 6 spots instead of 1 of 9.

Nice try with that reverse psychology!
