PUNK Music Draft - Now Ongoing post awesome punk songs thread (1 Viewer)

getting sleepy and may not be able to hop on a ton during the day tomorrow. if someone wants this pick take it. if not, here is a song from 2010 that i still can't figure out how i got introduced to. don't know a ton about them except they have a heavy Gypsie influence. Really wanted to make my 2000s pick be a pick that 1st came out in the 2000s, so:

Gogol Bordello - Immigranda    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKpgb2WrGo0

If i'm not up for awhile feel free to ignore ?‍♂️

They wore this song out on Faction. I like it though

Time for another lengthy story.

Fall of 94. Went to Mankato MN for a weekend of partying at MN St. (Adam Thielen's alma mater SKOL!!!) Had a few buddies there. First time I did mushrooms.  Whoooaaaaa. Also think I smoked some weed laced with PCP that weekend. Also Whoooaaa but in a less good way. All in all a very good weekend that peaked on Sunday night when we saw 10 Foot Pole open for Face To Face with NOFX headlining.

####ing rad show.  Until some ####stick threw a smoke bomb onstage and NOFX ended the show early. Dont remember the name of the venue but it was tiny. The stage was literally only a couple feet off the floor, IIRC (was not intoxicated at the show but still had lots of chemicals in the system, memory is a bit hazy).

Anyhoo, they were handing out free compilation CDs and cassettes there. The very first volume of Fat Music For Fat People. I had at least six friends there with me and this thing blew us away. That CD was ubiquitous in my clique for the next couple years at least. Both these songs were on it.

Propogandhi- Anti-Manifesto

Lagwagon-Know It All

Know It All is the one I promised I'd draft that is about "selling out" and the bull#### that goes along with being saddled with that label.

this isn't nearly chaotic enough

i'm back in, I'll make some new picks later

I've got a good punk rock story to share but I have to ask my friend to tell it to me again, I'm not a very good story guy
Is it me as you through old draft picks you made?

That's probably still my favourite draft ever...

Love Know it All

I’ll finally pick something from this century. This band met an unfortunate end in a bus crash shortly after their debut album was released in 2003. The only surviving member later formed the Nice Boys.

Exploding hearts-Sleeping aids and razor blades

I love this band. So loose, so Hanoi Rocks-ish. They played the Harvard Lampoon fest while they were still around and described the experience of being in the basement of the Lampoon with crack pipes stuck in the walls. So sad and tragic. Eephus has said this is part of the reason he wishes bands farewell on their journeys to other places. I believe him. I tried to take Adam Cox in the dead music rock stars draft, but Joe shut the draft down and we wound up drafting somebody different. Seems like it got pruned, too.

Oh well. Nice sentiments and all.

if we are going that way now, I got skipped on the turn.

ETA: Whatever, I am waiting until I am tagged (or until NV straightens us out)

P.S. why don't you hippies update your own GD picks on the GD Google Docs list so that GD NV doesn't have to all the GD leg work?  GD hippies.
