Very cool. Just see where it goes...never jumped in one of these so we can see where it goes

ok. and the categores aren't round based? we just choose whatever, whenever? seems the 90s are going kind of quick....the music drafts at least have veered far away from those judging days, where we were all trying to get the objective best songs.
lately have been pretty much drafting favorite songs, and getting to hear everybody else's in an ever expanding spotify playlist. and eephus taking bolivian esoterica.
I am so buried I honestly shouldn't be on here at all.How is @Good Posting Judge not in this
Don’t you start too nowWas planning on just observing, but I'll hop in this if there is room. The Blink-182 pick at 1.01 had meeven though I really liked them in the 90s
Not hating, just thought it was funny and an intriguing pick. Cheshire Cat was my intro into punk music while I was in HS, and then I worked backwards.Don’t you start too now
I really enjoyed thisBad Brains - Banned in D.C.
Didn't listen to these guys too much during my formative years, but I dig them more and more.
Can we be best friends?I am so buried I honestly shouldn't be on here at all.
Just give me the entire Earth Crisis catalog TIA.
ok. and the categores aren't round based? we just choose whatever, whenever? seems the 90s are going kind of quick....
also- I have no idea what's going on here in terms of rules or whatevertm
makes it interesting not tying them... you'll see.would be interesting tying categories to rounds...... little late now though
OMFG. You're gonna drop this on me right now? Ima hafta leave work early. How did I not know about this doc?
Recently procured this shirt.OMFG. You're gonna drop this on me right now? Ima hafta leave work early. How did I not know about this doc?
Supreme or just rocking Bad Brains?Recently procured this shirt.
I will be grading your draft so be very carefulso is this draft graded or something? is their scoring criteria, or what are the basic strategies here to draft well? pick songs before others would pick them? will be kind of funny if that is the case since a lot of punk is not mainstream. i am sure there will be some great picks not really recognized by all
You get an f for thiswould be interesting tying categories to rounds...... little late now though
...and more dicewould be interesting tying categories to rounds...... little late now though
Thanks for the bat signal but I'm traveling for work and then the holiday over the next 2 weeks so I'll just follow the thread. Are there any more punk inclined regulars I should be sending the @ signal out too?
@Jaysus this one seems built for you.
@Steve Tasker come draft some fourth wave emo with us.
@John Maddens Lunchbox where did you go?
@KarmaPolice @kupcho1 @The Dreaded Marco
The band still needs a drummer
I take my boner back . This was srsdly gonna be my pick.Bad Brains - Banned in D.C.
Didn't listen to these guys too much during my formative years, but I dig them more and more.
With their debut single, "(I'm) Stranded", in September 1976, they became the first "punk" band outside the US to release a record, ahead of better-known acts including the Sex Pistols and the Clash. They are one of the first and most influential groups of the genre.
I'm just going to observe. I would love to participate, but my corporate job wouldn't let me pay attention enough.
:fistpump:I take my boner back . This was srsdly gonna be my pick.
I have to agree. Blink 182 is Bonafide, but first round? Was planning on just observing, but I'll hop in this if there is room. The Blink-182 pick at 1.01 had meeven though I really liked them in the 90s
"Dammit"'s staccato rhythm and melancholy pop-spirit call to mind Chicago punks Screeching Weasel as much as they do the emotional fretting of the Descendents."I have to agree. Blink 182 is Bonafide, but first round?
Dude, you don't need critics. Punk never needed critics."Dammit"'s staccato rhythm and melancholy pop-spirit call to mind Chicago punks Screeching Weasel as much as they do the emotional fretting of the Descendents."
"Dammit" the "perfect punk song, everyone knows it, and it's probably being covered in someone's basement right now."
"one of the most iconic songs of the 90s – those three, unmistakable guitar chords, the two voices trading in verse (one sneering punk, the other, a throaty few octaves lower), and a soaring punk chorus."
might be too obvious, but a British punk rock scene category would seem to hitWelcome to the people who joined, I'll update stuff in a bit, still willing to add more required categories if people gave good suggestions that there is some consensus for![]()
Just carrying out some conversation with the critics inside the thread.Dude, you don't need critics. Punk never needed critics.
They're a great band. Not that I agree, frankly, but there's no need to justify.
By the way, listening to DJ Shadow's Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt right now, but you need not justify yourself here.
Cool. Just saw you getting heaped upon in here and didn't dig it. Everyone's mileage may vary.Just carrying out some conversation with the critics inside the thread.
Cool. I knew it would be decisive just because of the average age of posters here. But it's been a personal mission of mine since the self titled album came out to end the notion that Blink silly or disposable but instead were an original and highly talented band deserving of a ton of respect. I was actually way ahead of even the critical curve on this.Cool. Just saw you getting heaped upon in here and didn't dig it. Everyone's mileage may vary.
one more to add maybe. Punk cover songs. there are tons out there, tons of good one'smight be too obvious, but a British punk rock scene category would seem to hit
maybe try a ska punk category?
Dont worry, youngster. Its punk.Cool. I knew it would be decisive just because of the average age of posters here. But it's been a personal mission of mine since the self titled album came out to end the notion that Blink silly or disposable but instead were an original and highly talented band deserving of a ton of respect. There's no youngster there; it's an old soul that loves the new at times.Dont worry, youngster. Its punk.
#### the rules. #### the opinions. I know some hardcore guys that get mad if you call the Ramones punk. #### them too. I tell them Bad Religion sucks. They tell me to #### myself.
It's all good.
UK/east coast/west coast/covers- either way , punk band covering a song or a punk song covered by “a normal artist”Welcome to the people who joined, I'll update stuff in a bit, still willing to add more required categories if people gave good suggestions that there is some consensus for![]()
