That was laughable when I saw the clip on IG. He was all praise for Brock today.

A wild take for sure, although it is always interesting to wonder how certain QBs would have performed if drafted into different scenarios. Quarterback of all positions is most reliant on surrounding cast and coach/scheme to succeed imo.
That was wild. I'm a big fan of Cowherd. But wow.
That confirms what I saw on TV. That's the worst I've ever seen him look. So many missed receivers that were running wide open. I have to wonder if Purdy caught whatever Deebo had. Deebo looked like he was about to blow chunks when he was walking off the field.Brock Purdy's passer rating of 36.7 was the lowest in 34 career starts, including six games in the postseason.

Not having his 3 top WRs will do that to a QB.
Having to rely on your 3rd, 4th, and 5th WR and no CMC isn't exactly what I call "has more weapons".I thought the MVP shouts were bordering on absurd last season and he really looks to be skyrocketing back to earth this season.
Still has more weapons and a much better defense than many QBs in this league... Should be doing better (in general, KC is just unreal)
He's been really good this year.I thought the MVP shouts were bordering on absurd last season and he really looks to be skyrocketing back to earth this season.

I agree, but a lot has changed with regards to his WR options. He needs Pearsall, Cowing, and others to step up. Not sure what Deebo's situation currently is.He's been really good this year.I thought the MVP shouts were bordering on absurd last season and he really looks to be skyrocketing back to earth this season.

Ya he's been decent to good. But nothing like last season.
I said it then... His weapons (namely CMC) made him look near superhuman
linkThe table below compares Purdy’s career production with and without McCaffrey on the field, provided either Aiyuk or Samuel was on the field when McCaffrey was not. This seemed like a fair way to measure Purdy’s production without McCaffrey, who is an elite game-plan consideration, provided Purdy still had at least one of his starting receivers.
The numbers are barely distinguishable.

Really good read here.
No, Brock Purdy doesn't need to be Suoerman - but the 49ers need him to be better
No, Brock Purdy doesn't need to be Superman — but he does need to be better
The 49ers don't want or need their QB to take on too much responsibility in the wake of all their injuries. On Sunday, that just made it worse.sfstandard.com

I would like to know more than just those stats. I say that because you can start to see it with the bottom 3 categories. The dump off to the RB isn't as effective like it is with McCaffrey (average air yds). I specifically remember a play last season against the Giants when it was 3rd and 13. Purdy throws a dump off to McCaffrey who proceeds to make the Giants miss like 4 tackles, gets 17 yards on a play that should have gotten 2 yards and the 49ers ended up scoring a TD on that drive that they should have kicked a FG. If he makes the same exact throw in the same exact situation with Mason, the play goes for 2 yards and it's 4th and 11 and they're trying a 46 yard FG. How many of those are the 49ers missing out on when CMC isn't in the game. How many drives that were 7s, are now 3s or punts. What is the average yards to go on 2nd down? On 3rd? That is what's missing.
QB Brock Purdy has 42 carries for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns rushing this season.
He ranks 8th, tied for 8th and tied for 5th in those categories among QBs.
In his first two seasons combined, Purdy had 61 carries for 157 yards and 3 TDs.
His rushing yards/game has jumped from 6.3 per game in 2022-23 to 26.3 oer gsme in 2024. Basically, he's added two extra first downs per game with his legs.

Might have to start Darnold over him in a league where I hold the last playoff slot but it’s waaaay to close to lose a game right now. :(No throwing two days in a row.
That's kinda...not good...for the offense in general.
I just picked up Tommy Cutlets with Rodgers on bye just in case.He didn’t speak to media. Shanny being evasive. Crap. I have one hour to decide leave in Juaun Jennings or sub in Cedric Tillman. Ugh. I have no confidence in any SF pass catcher if Brandon Allen is at Qb
Allen is QB2. If Purdy can't go, it'll be Allen.A guy picked up Dobbs. I was late to the party and only have Purdy this week. So I picked up Brandon Allen, who as far as I know is listed #2 on every depth chart that I know of. Does he know something I don’t?
Interesting. I just went and checked the depth chart a bit ago - same as you. Brandon Allen.A guy picked up Dobbs. I was late to the party and only have Purdy this week. Pretty sure this is a short term thing, if at all.Interesting. I just went and checked the depth chart a bit ago - same as you. Brandon Allen.A guy picked up Dobbs. I will say though, Dobbs would be interesting in the Shanny offense.
