QB Cam Newton, Retired (4 Viewers)

Uugh, Newton.

I was loaded at WR and had drafted RG3. Ended up trading Sanders for Newton and it has not solved the QB conundrum.

Now in the quaint situation of considering picking up RG3 off the WW this week. Newton just looks sluggish and deflated from the #### around him. RG3 at least looked serviceable against Minnesota and has had another two weeks to get ready for a home tie against Tampa.

Dark times, I'm almost considering cutting ties with Newton as I also have Sanchez.

Are people considering the same in re draft ?
for Gods sake keep us posted

He may bounce back, but I've lost all patience. Dropped him today. He looks horrible, and he finally admitted he is injured. His line isn't improving anytime soon either. It's a pity, because his schedule is so sweet!

Oh, well Cam has certainly been a beacon of honesty throughout his career. I'm not sure what you're defending. He's beat up, unhealthy - whatever you want to call it. Why is this so difficult?
What I'm saying is that his suckage is not at all due to any injuries. It's due to the fact that he is not any good at playing NFl QB. Once his legs go away, as they will, the more he gets hit, the more he will suck. His game is great for college but in the NFL, he's just a big guy with a big arm that can run. That doesn't get it done.
If Brady and Manning lost their arms they'd suck too  That's a reality of life, not whether or not you are "good at playing NFL QB".

Despite being a popular target of hate for some posters here, Cam is a top 5 fantasy QB when he can run. It looks like his wheels are busted at the moment though, so he's bound to disappoint if he's your QB1. In redraft I've moved on already, I just can't take the roller coaster ride.

Words only have a meaning when it is collectively decided upon by those who use them. If you would prefer that I use the term "schadenfreude" that's fine with me - it actually describes most of this thread better than "hate". But either way, you know exactly what I mean.

Do you watch Cam play? I personally believe him to be one of the elite athletes ever to play the position. But his actions or antics generally rub people the wrong way. He's easily ten times the athlete Cutler is, but they have the same body language and it's bothersome to many people. It's completely justified to dislike players like this. I would agree that Cam's organization has done little to help him become the player he probably should become, but the hate, as you put it, is probably justified. I prefer to think of it as blue-collar-loathing.

I think a lot of the criticsm here is justified. Just look at his face and body language. He's acting like he's mailed it in on this season. He just has no desire to be out there right now and his actions and play speak it. The things he is doing this season, mainly his accuracy and overthrowing of receivers, could've easily been corrected weeks ago. But he continues to gunsling like he doesn't even care anymore. That is the most concerning.

I am getting the opposite impression. This is a guy who is trying too hard to take the team on his back and play through an injury when he should really be shut down til he's healthy. You could argue he's being stubborn or he refuses to sit because of his ego, but I can't see how people think he's being lazy or disinterested.

I think what's most concerning is while we all watched Cam wincing in pain on the sidelines and clearly limping around on and off the field, his coach denied every bit of it. So either Rivera isn't paying attention or he doesn't believe Cam is necessarily injured - which could be symptomatic of a much larger problem.

in the NFL, they consider "hurt" and "injured" two different things. Cam is hurt, everyone in week 11 should be (except Josh Gordon) , but he's not injured to the point where he cannot play. That's how I take it anyway.

He can still get on the field but it's obvious that he's hurting more than most QBs are at this point. Hopefully his bye week will help with that.

Well I've dropped him and traded Ben Tate for Big Ben. Going with Ben, Sanchez and WW options for rest of year.

Can't be trusted until there's a return to form

Starting him over Sanchez. I just got a feeling.
I have the same decision to make and I'm leaning Sanchez. I think the thumb could be more of an issue than people are recognizing.
It's close for me but a couple things leaned me towards Cam. Playing at home with a chip on his shoulder vs a soft D with perfect temperatures vs Sanchez at Green Bay with a high of 29 degrees at night with wind.

This organization hasn't ever had back to back winning seasons. It's safe to say there is a much larger problem.

Its sad I even have to ask, but would anyone consider benching Cam for...gulp...Colt McCoy or Mettenberger?? Have him starting right now, but not confident at all Cam will have a good game on the road in the cold....

Was leaning on Mettenberger myself. He had a decent game last time vs Houston. Currently going with Newton for rushing yds advantage over Mett.

I watched most all the games this weekend on ST, and honestly, Cam was the most impressive QB this weekend. I wonder if he's finally getting healthy or if the Saints are just like bad defensively....or maybe a tad of both. ;)

Cam Newton - QB - Panthers
According to the Charlotte Observer, Cam Newton was injured in a major car crash in North Carolina Tuesday afternoon.
A truck crashed into another car and overturned at about 12:30pm ET Tuesday. It's reportedly Newton's truck. He was spotted getting medical attention before being loaded into an ambulance via a stretcher. Our thoughts are with Newton right now as we wait for more details to emerge.

Its getting picked up all over the country if its fake many news outlets got burned.

PFT and Charlette Observer both ran stories and Cleveland Browns Daily just reported it also.

Report: Cam Newton injured in car accidentPosted by Darin Gantt on December 9, 2014, 12:55 PM EST

The Panthers have a new thing to worry about, as if they didn’t have enough already.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was involved in a car wreck near downtown today.

Details are few at the moment, but the crash included Newton’s car flipped over on a bridge and another involved, near the intersection of Church Street and I-277, close to Bank of America Stadium.

Dianne Gallagher of WCNC has a photograph of Newton being loaded into an ambulance, and Chris Littman of the Sporting News has a photo of Newton’s truck after it was flipped over, the top flattened.

We’ll have more on this as it develops.
If its a fake story then website should be shut down.

Photos from Twitter reportedly of Cam being led into an ambulance.
