I’d think the opposite. They don’t want Jameis active as possible competition for Watson.
They’re doubling down on Watson being the unquestioned starter.

With the money they owe him I think they’ll give him every opportunity to turn it around.
Wouldn’t surprise me if they try to trade out of a top pick as well in hopes to recoup some of the draft capital they wasted acquiring him.

Vick deserves an honorable mention. He appeared to be a different person returning to the league after Dungy's mentorship.

Couldn't do it due to the salary cap, now may be able to with relief from insurance. It'll never come out, but this is one of the primary reasons he kept starting.

Unless he retires and gives some money back (lol, good luck with that), Cleveland will likely have to carry him on IR next year and cut him in 2026 because of that massive dead money next year. Assuming that’s an Achilles tear, he likely won’t be ready to start 2025 anyway.
Can potentially restructure him in some way to work around the cap hits in ‘26 & ‘27. Supposedly since he settled his most recent allegation, the alleged victim won’t cooperate with the NFL so the odds of him getting suspended again and voiding his remaining guarantees doesn’t look likely.

Odd. Rodgers was in game 1 but Cousins was injured around game 6 if memory serves. This says to me that he has a good chance to play next year if the Browns want him to.
True, Cousins tore his at almost at this exact time last year.
But I’m assuming they definitely won’t want him playing again.
