QB Deshaun Watson, CLE (3 Viewers)

I find it shocking a guy that good could be so un-special.

Really not impressed with that offense they were rolling out, I tuned in for 2nd half. They ran the ball up the gut on every 1st down I was paying attention.

If Stefanski is forced to open it up, maybe Watson can improve.
They were still running the ball effectively without Chubb. so I dont see this part of the game going away.
I could see more balance coming to the offense (assuming Watson can deliver on his part) but they will continue to run the ball.

Should I trade Geno or D Watson in Dunasty?

D Watson is the better player but I feel like Stafanski’ is QB poison. Not sure how much career rope the NFL is going to give to a serial sex offender either. Still, Watson was so good in Texas.

Broncos vs. Browns: The Drive...to ruin your franchise with a terrible expensive QB decision.
Even with the oddities, 31 teams would take Russell over Watson. Probably 32.
Week 1 was bad weather but there’s no excuse for week 2.
Fortunately for Deshaun, the titans secondary is ungood. He has a long leash by necessity. But things definitely don’t look good right now.

Uh, no. A certain number of teams just wouldn't take Watson with his baggage. On the field though, there's no comparison any longer, evaluators would overwhelmingly take Watson over Russell at this point in their careers.

Russ certainly has different baggage, but he does have some. So he doesn't have a clean ledger there either. Plus he can't throw over the middle of the field any more and rarely extends plays to hit big plays. The guy will have a game here or there, but he looks cooked.

So far Watson has not shown to be any better. Plus the broncos can move on easier than the browns. They’re both trash, Russ is just slightly less 🙂 with his trash.

Deshaun Watson completed 27-of-33 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns, and ran four times for 16 yards in the Browns’ 27-3, Week 3 win over the Titans.

Watson had yet another shaky first half, making one of the worst plays by anyone in the league all day. Getting sacked in the second quarter, he heaved the ball backwards for a ludicrous fumble. Thankfully, the Browns recovered, and unlike Watson’s Weeks 1 and 2, he actually recovered, too. Watson hit Amari Cooper for an uncovered 43-yard score in the fourth quarter, identifying a coverage bust. Watson also had Cooper for a long score in the first half, but the referee inexplicably ruled Cooper out of bounds and blew the play dead, making it non-reviewable. Something still seems off about this entire operation, but there is enough here for Watson to work with in the QB10-16 range. The Ravens are a tough Week 4 matchup before the Browns’ bye.

Possibly his best game as a Brown, although he's nowhere near the rhythm/playstyle he had on the Texans. If he can string performances like this together, the Browns O might become fantasy friendly.

opened up the playbook it seemed a little... starting taking shots downfield (and was quite accurate)... drew some penalties on a few...

THIS is the deshawn we need. He made some awesome escapes from pressure too.

One boneheaded play, but it worked out well in the end.

The Akron Beacon Journal’s Chris Easterling reports Deshaun Watson is resting his right shoulder in Wednesday’s practice but is expected to play in Week 4 against the Ravens.

Watson is at practice on Wednesday but will not do any throwing. It’s the first we’ve heard of this routine from Watson, but it sounds like little more than load management. Watson is coming off arguably his best game as a member of the Browns with 289 yards and two scores. He will look to stay hot in a divisional matchup with Baltimore this week.

Deshaun Watson did limited throwing during Friday’s practice.

The Akron Beacon Journal’s Chris Easterling said Watson “threw a couple of halfhearted passes before stopping and talking to the trainer during the open portion of practice.” Watson has dealt with shoulder soreness this week and did not do any throwing at Wednesday’s practice. The Browns are being cautious with their franchise quarterback ahead of an AFC North battle with the Ravens on Sunday. Struggling mightily in the season’s first two games, Watson broke out in Week 3 for 289 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Titans. He’s a top-15 fantasy option against Baltimore.

X telling me he threw only 1 pass

“We saw Watson throw one pass then he walked over to the trainer at the start of practice. Have to guess DTR is getting prepped to play.

We will hear from Stefanski in an hour.“

Do you expect Deshaun (Watson) to play Sunday?

Stefanski: “I’m hopeful.”

Was he able to throw after we left practice?

Stefanski: “Light throwing. Light.

Unfortunately for you, not every team has the titans secondary.

titans secondary didnt make those rushes.
titans secondary have nothing to do w his accuracy.
he was doing things he hasnt been shining at lately.... sure I wanna see it v a better defense, but accuracy is accuracy

Schefter: "Browns’ QB Deshaun Watson is not playing today, per source. With Watson not being healthy enough to play today, the Browns rookie fifth-round pick QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson now is expected to start vs. the Ravens."

I have Ford on the bench and am trying to figure if this benefits him or not. I can see the Browns trying to run more but I can also see the Ravens stacking against the run.

DTR was exciting in preseason. The regular season is a whole different ballgame, but I’m still looking forward to seeing what he looks like. Watson’s contract may (or may not) be impossible to get out of, but either way he’s not exactly easy to root for. DTR is, as much of a longshot as he is.

When you figure it out please let me know.
I’m leaving him on the bench so he’s almost guaranteed to be a great play
I appreciate it.

My gut feeling, so no logic at all is the Cleveland o-line makes this a game and the RBs will see good volume.

If DTR does well, I don’t care how much money Watson is making, he will get benched for the short term at the very least.

I'm cutting bait on this guy. I drafted him as my QB1. Thank god I got Tua a few rounds after. I picked up R.Wilson as a back-up last week, and honestly I'm just riding him as my QB2 now. He's just a guy, but a guy on a team that will be playing from behind with that Denver defense. I just don't have warm-fuzzies around Cleveland from here on out, at least offensively. Add to that the whole shoulder issue Watson has and a lot of mixed news on it, and he's just not worth hanging on to.

Yea, I am going with Josh Dobbs over him for the foreseeable future. Drafted Watson/ARodg/Love and was hoping one of them could be a top 10 fantasy QB.

Deshaun Watson (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.
Watson, who has been medically cleared to return to game action but has chosen to remain sidelined, canceled his usual Wednesday press conference after the team announced another missed practice for the league’s highest paid player. It looks increasingly likely that the Browns will sacrifice journeyman QB P.J. Walker to the 49ers in Week 6. It remains to be seen when Watson might deem himself ready to play.

A little more on the Deshaun Watson thing, and not playing when you are medically cleared.

This is pure speculation on my part, which is always dangerous, but I would imagine David Njoku playing two days after he had a serious accident and was burned factors somewhere in the context.

Medically cleared? If Watson either had pain in his shoulder or couldn't throw with the same velocity ... that would be an out. Why wouldn't Watson want to show the NFL that he is back? There were glimpses of the old Watson in game 3.
