QB Kyler Murray, ARZ (1 Viewer)

Kyler Murray completed 23-of-37 passes for 222 yards and an interception and ran for 100 yards on 10 carries in the Cardinals' 19-9, Week 6 loss to the Seahawks.

It was his first 100-yard game since Week 9 of the 2020 season. He was under constant pressure this game, forcing him to break the pocket and scramble often. The pressure also resulted in six sacks for a collective loss of 51 yards. Seattle entered this game ranked 30th in sacks as a defense. Murray spent most of his day running or throwing two Zach Ertz and Rondale Moore. The duo combined for 119 yards on 20 targets. Arizona looked as stagnant as ever in this game, and there's no sign of things changing in Week 7. Murray's only shot at QB1 numbers versus the Saints will be through rushing production.

I was about to dive in and make a video game joke but TLEF beat me to it.

I'll say it again, the Cardinals organization has paid a king's ransom to a child.

I once had Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson as my QB's in a dynasty league...

I still have Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson as my QB's in same dynasty league. I'm 1-5 now. Fantasy Football can be one fickle b**** sometimes.

Murray is immature, lazy, not intelligent, soft mentally and physically. He is not a leader at all. He does not do enough film study, easy to see by his play in games.
It also looks like he does not work on improving anything. He is a joke to be honest. He got paid so he has nothing to worry about now.

I remember reading an article that he liked baseball better but football would be a bigger and quicker guaranteed pay day so he choose football
even though he liked baseball better. He did not want to play in the minors before working his way up to the major leagues.
That did not sound good when I read it when he was back in college and it shows now that he is a pro.

There was a reason they put that film study clause in his contract, even though they took it out.
The clause was a joke, he had to study 5 measly hours per week. There are QB's who will study film for 5 hours in one day in the league.
That should tell you all you need to know about Murray if they put in for 5 hours, he must not do any film study.

Honestly, the guy is a complete joke! He is still a child

How the Cardinals gave him so much money knowing all of this is beyond me

Kyler Murray completed 20-of-29 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 42-34, Week 7 win over the Saints, adding seven carries for 30 additional yards.

You would have liked to see Murray produce more than one touchdown in what ended up the highest-scoring game of the Kliff Kingsbury era in Arizona, but it was probably his steadiest overall outing of the season. That is despite the usual chorus of baffling sacks, clock management issues and spats with Kingsbury. Murray seemed centered by the return of DeAndre Hopkins even though it coincided with Marquise Brown's placement on injured reserve. Of concern was a second half visit to the blue medical tent, but Murray was never announced with an issue. Running extremely effectively so far this season, Murray's rushing efficiency has always cratered when he plays hurt. Whatever ailed him tonight, he has 10 days to rest up for a Week 8 date with the Vikings.

very disappointing season so far. Even in a year with terrible QB performances he's been surprisingly pedestrian. Even when they are in comeback mode, which is most weeks, he still looks like he's lost. I don't follow the team closely but it seems like spends most of the game just ad-libbing.

  1. .QB 10
  2. QB 8
  3. QB 20
  4. QB 9
  5. QB 15

below 20 points 4 of the last 5, and 5 out of the last 7
20 points probably isn't the best cutoff point for QBs this year. He's been above 15 points every week except week 3 against the Rams, which is also his week 10 opponent, though they (Rams) are probably a little worse now than they were then.

Murray has been slightly disappointing, but he's QB6, and has been pretty consistent about it. As the QB5 off the board on average, he's probably been a solid draft pick, just not the steal his drafters were hoping for.

One thing that has bugged me watching the Cards, is how Murray is in shotgun like 90% of the snaps, even inside the 5. Just awful play calling, no PA, no bootlegs, its just so uncreative. I said it in the game thread, but Kingsbury's playbook is less creative than a Tecmo Super Bowl playbook.

Still hasn’t had a 40 yard completion all year. Last year he had 9.

At least he is starting to run more the last few weeks. Only Fields has more QB rushing yards in the last 4 g.

The rushing yards a nice boost, as long as he doesn't fumble. I'm counting on a 200 yard 1 TD, and 40 rushing yard floor rest of way. 18 point floor with some upside. I traded for Herbert last week just to have a second option although his whole team is hurt. I really want the CARDS to get back in a playoff race, this was a big loss. I worry they'll unravel soon with all the sideline fights.

that is true and is essentially the only thing that makes him somewhat startable. Ya, everything seems to be 10 yards or fewer...didn't realize that he hasn't had a 40 yarder. I can understand the early part of the year since they were down a lot of wr's but now there's no excuse.

He would have had at least 3 40 yarders if Hollywood would have held onto any of them. That said, drops are why he was available in the first place.

I am expecting a pretty big boon to Murray whenever Brown is back. Of course his timeline is anywhere from week 11 to week 15 so...

Kyler Murray completed 25-of-35 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals' 31-21, Week 9 loss to the Seahawks, adding eight carries for 60 additional yards.

It was a satisfying enough dual-threat day for fantasy managers, but Murray left meat on the bone, taking five sacks and losing a ridiculous open-field fumble at the Seahawks' 23-yard line. Murray was hurt by drops and penalties from his receiver corps, but he also just didn't make enough big plays. Murray has exceeded two scores only twice in nine starts, and has been walloped for 17 sacks over his past four games. Even his renewed connection with DeAndre Hopkins was cooled down to 4/36/1 this afternoon. Keeping his combined rushing/passing yardage floor high enough to remain a no-doubt QB1, Murray has a tough Week 10 date with the Rams.

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said Kyler Murray (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Week 10 against the Rams.

Murray will undoubtedly draw a questionable tag. He did practice on Friday, which is good news for him, and Hard Knocks showed that he played through the injury after suffering it in Week 9's game against Seattle. We'd guess Murray is on the optimistic side of questionable based on the practices, but his drafters should have backup plans ready heading into the weekend.

Get to decide between Kyler’s hammy and limited running or Herbert. Just seems like the Cards are one more loss away from complete team implosion.

GTD for a later afternoon game at that, so gotta make the lineup call early.

Have to pick up an early window QB unless you want to roll the dice on Stafford (may be on waivers because he is bad and also injured) or Ehlinger (lol).

Jimmy G is probably on waivers in a lot of leagues. Depending on how deep your league is, one of Carr or Rodgers could be too.

That said, Murray is unlikely to not play. I'd say he's probably a 90% chance of playing, though with a little lower floor if he's not running much.

I just picked up Carr
I’ll have to roll with Rodgers.

Gulp
He's better than my Taylor Heinicke option
Heinicke has a better pts/gm than the reigning 2 time MVP

They both suck a sack of nuts.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Kyler Murray (hamstring, questionable) is a true game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Rams.

"Cardinals sources told ESPN the team does not expect to decide whether (Murray will start) until they see him in pre-game warmups and determine how well he can move," Schefter reported. "But a source told ESPN that friends of (No. 2 QB Colt) McCoy's called the Rams on Saturday night to purchase 'a bunch of tickets' to Sunday's game in Los Angeles." That second detail is anecdotal, though it sure is juicy. Cardinals sources also told Schefter Murray has "improved" but is truly 50-50. Murray has a history of playing poorly when on the injury report. The Cardinals are probably desperate enough to push it, however. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, the game does not kick off until 4:25 PM ET, and Murray's status could still be in limbo at 1PM ET lock time.

Roto

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (hamstring) will test things out pre-game to see if he'll play against the Rams. However, the signal-caller continues to move "gingerly," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, so it's unlikely he'll be available on Sunday. If that's the case, Colt McCoy will be under center. McCoy has totaled 684 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick while amassing a passer rating of 103.2 in three career starts as a Cardinal. While those numbers aren't anything spectacular, his services may come in handy for those in deep multi-quarterback setups.

-I think i would be making other plans

Quick back of the napkin math

Call of Duty franchise has surpassed $30 billion in sales. In home app sales alone this year are at $862M and will surpass a billion dollars for 2022.

#400 on the Forbes 400 list in $2.7Bn, Michael Bidwell is "one of the ten poorest NFL owners" at a paltry $1.4Bn.

Dangit. Was gonna suggest buying the CoD franchise so they can control these release dates....

On a more serious note, I'm making other plans for Week 11 on the assumption Kyler's hammy won't improve enough by Sunday. Even if it does, highly likely his rushing activities will be diminished. 49ers went through a mini rough patch due to injuries but looked like their usual awesome selves vs the depleted LAC. Tough matchup, hobbled, good time to wait another week until he's more healthy.

Hoping Kliff throws McCoy out there again and let's Murray focus on rest & rehab. And CoD, naturally.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Kyler Murray (hamstring) could miss "another week or so."

Fowlers said the team will see how Murray feels in the run-up to Arizona's Week 11 Monday night game against the 49ers. Kliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals seems comfortable rolling with Colt McCoy, who completed 70.2 percent of his Week 10 passes against the Rams for 238 yards and a touchdown. McCoy targets DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore on 75 percent of his throws. The Arizona Republic's Greg Moore was so impressed by McCoy's Week 10 showing that he said the Cardinals should bench Murray -- quite the leap for a team fighting for a playoff spot. For fantasy purposes, McCoy is a decent floor option in Week 11 against a stingy Niners secondary.

Alright, so it sounds like he is out again this week. I’m guessing we don’t see Kyler until week 14. They have a bye on week 13. Why risk having him re-aggravate it in week 12? Give the little turd a whole month of r&r.
