QB Shedeur Sanders, CLE (2 Viewers)

In general, I think the Browns are really doing all of their QBs a disservice. As the saying goes "If you have two QBs, you have zero QBs" the Browns are literally trying to decide between four potentially viable options. All of them will suffer from lack of opportunity and Shedeur's presence means they will be under a microscope while trying to figure it out.

I expect to see Pickett put in bubble wrap when TC opens up as they desperately try to arrange a trade.
totally agree - Pickett is not necessary at this point and they should be able to flip him for a late pick. Waste giving him reps. Flacco should be the vet week 1 starter with one of the rooks taking over after a few weeks. Let the 2 rooks battle it out for a week or 2 then make the call. TC reps are gold for rooks and cant split it 4 ways.

The longer they can have Sanders sit and learn the better. He very well could end up the starter but once they go to him there is no turning back. The longer they can delay that the better. Flacco wil be the guy out of the gates until he isn't. If CLE struggles early I know there will be calls for Sanders to play but the longer he can sit the better. Even if he has to sit a full year that would be good for his development and learning the offence.

I don't think its a disservice having Gabriel and Sanders sit behind the vets for as long as possible. Too many teams and coaches are trying to save their jobs and throw in young QBs too early and they struggle. Other than coaches/GMs trying to save their jobs what's the rush? Let these kids develop and learn.

I'd even say longer than a "few weeks" - like half the season or more.

Not unfair but tough situation - going to likely be a lost season and the heat will be on the coaching staff to pivot away from the 40 yr old with no future to the shiny new toys. And having 2 of them makes it worse because if they put one in and they look shaky the crowd can just turn to the other. I liked how the Giants did it with Eli and the Flacons with Pennix - give the kid a few starts at the end of the season and thats it. Very rare though

I agree that if they can wait to give the starts later in the season that would be best. Even the great Mahomes sat to start his career. It is really for the best to have these guys sit.

No doubt the issue is they have 2 young guys but the reality is the likelihood of both working out is slim. If it happens then that is a good thing for CLE who hasn't found a QB in decades. If they get 2 then great for them. It might mean though it takes longer to figure out who is better between Gabriel and Sanders. But long term I think it is a good thing for them having both. Does it suck for fantasy ? sure but for the team this is good. It also gives the fans something to talk about and keep them busy as they try to pick their fav QB.

While rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders hasn't been seen getting first-team reps, he took a series of snaps with the second-team offense during 11-on-11 drills, ahead of fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. Sanders continued his strong spring, throwing a short touchdown in red-zone drills. On the play, he manipulated multiple linebackers by moving his eyes to his left before returning to his right and finding an open window to drive a pass to tight end Brenden Bates in the end zone.

Until they’re out of the playoffs. Which could be mid season but I think they’ll surprise a bit.
