QB Tyler Huntley, BAL (1 Viewer)

True, part of me also thinks the Huntley is as good as Lamar talk is going to be run it’s course this week.

I could see that as well.

I have this "clock may strike midnight" feeling about Huntley right now. Reproducing his GB game magic again may be a bit much to ask.

You could be right, but he also looked great in his Week 11 start and in relief Week 15. I think he's the real deal. People emphasize draft capital, and i's a valid metric - GMs and HCs hate to be wrong. But maybe they were wrong about him when he came out a few years ago.

He def is NOT in Lamar's class - or any of the other options we're comparing him to like Hill or Lance - as a runner. But every time he has been in there this year, he has been great at moving around the pocket or spinning out if it collapses to extend the play.

Game script should be in his favor this week. He's no more of a risk than all the other running QBs / rookies / should be a TE guys we are deciding between.

Got Lance in over him but this chatter making me (over)think.
I’ve looked at lance too. Along with taysom hill.

Fbg has: Huntley, burrow, Hill, Lance.

No clue. Agree that Burrow probably has a higher floor but in 4 pt passing his ceiling is also limited. Wish I knew if the bengals plan is to try to play a shootout with the chiefs or try to slow the game down.

Interesting. My league is 6 pt passing but Burrow isn't available.  Suppose Huntley is the best passer of the bunch...

Yeah if mine were 6 pt passing I’d start burrow and not look back.

4 pt passing with 25 points per pass yards really raises the value of a running qb.

Deciding between Dak at home and Huntley

tempted to stick with Dak at home who has been fire there
Dak. Is this your LCG? Best advice: don’t get cute. Rams are a tough matchup.

Think I'm in on Huntley over Kyler and Russ.

Dallas D scares me, Russ has been not good and the weather is bad in SEA.

Balt is at home in nice waether in a must-win game, and Huntley is dual threat in a potential high scoring game... or at least this is what I'm telling myself. 🤞

Any words of wisdom welcome.

Maybe a weird bump but I can’t get this guy fully out of my mind as it relates to fantasy and NFL in general. Holding on a bench in my 1QB dynasty team. Can’t help but feel there are a good few teams in the league that should try and trade for him, including my Lions. Is he going to be happy just continually sitting behind Lamar ?? He looked so good at times last season, is still young and with more NFL experience than a rookie he could be plugged straight in by a rebuilding or QB needy team

Lamar Jackson ruled out for Ravens game after leaving with knee injury

Excerpt:

When Jackson left the game, he had completed 3-of-4 passes for 11 yards and had one carry for nine yards, and the Ravens were losing to the Broncos 3-0. In Huntley's first drive for Baltimore, he led the team all the way down the field to the red zone, but wasn't able to convert on third-and-long and had to settle for a field goal to tie the game 3-3. The Broncos led 6-3 at the half.

Tyler Huntley completed 27-of-32 pass attempts for 187 yards and an interception in the Ravens' Week 13 win against the Broncos, adding ten rushes for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Huntley was deadly accurate from start to finish following Lamar Jackson's knee injury, which forced him to the locker room near the end of the first quarter. After starting four games for Baltimore in 2021, Huntley showed his comfort under center in Greg Roman's offense, keeping the offense on time and hitting Mark Andrews and the team's pass catchers in stride against a good Denver coverage unit. Huntley took a draw play into the end zone from two yards out with less than 30 seconds to go in the game to cap a gritty game-winning drive. Huntley's game winner ended another game in which the Ravens offense was discombobulated and completely ineffective in keeping the defense off guard. Huntley should be picked up off waivers this week in case Jackson misses time.

Who’s rolling with him this week? I picked him up and (think) I’m starting him over Lawrence and Carr. Going for the upside as in order to make the playoffs I need to win and hope 1 of 2 other guys loses.

I claimed him off waivers and I’m starting him over Brady*.

*unless the weather in PIT is significantly worse than the weather in SF, which isn’t gonna be great.

I’m a lock for the playoffs, but 1 more win makes me the 1-seed, so I need a good start.

Ravens QB Tyler Huntley practiced on Tuesday.

It's a good sign for his chances of getting cleared from concussion protocol, but not necessarily a guarantee of anything. John Harbaugh expressed optimism that Huntley would be cleared for Saturday's game against the Bengals. Anthony Brown would go if Huntley and Lamar Jackson (knee) are not able to play.

My thoughts on Huntley are this and they certainly go beyond 2022. He's a restricted FA in 2023. In dynasty leagues you should be more intrigued. Not sure what the Ravens cap is, but if some team offers the farm, he could be fantasy relevant on another team in 2023.

Tyler Huntley (concussion) practiced on Thursday.

Huntley continues to trend in the right direction heading into Saturday's Week 15 contest against the Browns. While he's yet to clear concussion protocol, the veteran quarterback has practiced every day this week and is expected to clear protocol before Saturday. Assuming he's active, Huntley will be a high-end QB2 against a Browns team that's allowing the 11th fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

This is what I truly love about fantasy football/Dynasty...in August you have a perfect roster with a starting line-up that has a chance to go undefeated...fast forward 4 months...due to injuries you are now more excited than you should be at your age because it appears Tyler Huntley (who you have held onto all year...thank god) can play this week so you don't have to play a WR at the SF position in a playoff game...yup, exactly how it was planned in August...it never gets old.

Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

"Limited" is putting it lightly. The Baltimore Banner's Jonas Shaffer noted that Huntley didn't attempt a single throw in the portion of practice open to the media. It's possible he got in some attempts later in the day, but it's a less-than-promising start to the week for Baltimore's back quarterback. Lamar Jackson does not appear on track to play, putting Anthony Brown in line to make his second-ever start. Brown's presence under center would likely doom the Ravens to a first-round exit from the playoffs. In his first start, he tossed two interceptions and averaged 6.5 yards per attempt.

Fox's Jay Glazer said the Ravens are optimistic Tyler Huntley (shoulder, wrist) will play in the Wild Card round against the Bengals.

Huntley should be ready to go Sunday against the Bengals after being listed as questionable. Huntley has struggled mightily over the past month, providing little fantasy value and destroying Mark Andrews' fantasy ceiling. He would, however, he a major upgrade over Anthony Brown, who started for Baltimore in Week 18.

Tyler Huntley completed 17-of-29 passes for 226 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Ravens' 24-17, Wild Card loss to the Bengals, adding 54 yards on nine carries.

Huntley started his first playoff game in his third NFL season for the injured Lamar Jackson, the latter of whom missed the final five weeks of the regular season in addition to the team's Wild Card loss to the Bengals. Huntley started four regular season games and the playoff loss, amassing 884 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions across six appearances for the Ravens. Lamar Jackson enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent but it appears Huntley is not yet ready to assume command of an NFL franchise based on his play over the previous two seasons.

We need a Miami QB thread that's non Tua.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone is cut for just not connecting with McDaniels intelligent "a bit much" style.
