At the time, a lot of the 49er fan base was screaming that it was a huge overpay for a RB who is “injury prone”. Seemed foolish at the time but even way more now.how stupid were the Panthers for moving him that cheaply? Guy is a wrecking ball, best RB in the league by far...what a steal for the 49'ers.
More like a stinger had a McCaffrey. The stinger will be fine.He had a stinger. He'll be fineAny news about his injury? Mitchell getting that last drive has to be a little concerning.
Next Gen Stats
Christian McCaffrey was the first player since 2017 to lead the NFL in rushing yards both before (510) and after (949) contact in the same season.
McCaffrey will face a Chiefs defense that allowed the 3rd-most yards after contact per carry in 2023 (3.4).

McCaffrey will receive an additional $8 million over what he was scheduled to make in the first two years while adding $24 million in guarantees. The deal was negotiated and confirmed by WME Football.
Bookmark it, then come back and tell me I'm wrong. He won't be a first round pick, he will not be an impact player, he'll be a niche back in a rbbc.Thank goodness pete krum is finally here to give us his infinite wisdom.
CMC played through one his 1st year with the team.Calf strains did not play out well for Joe Burrow and Juwan Johnson in 2023.
Ceiling is too high to not take him 1.01 right now. For me it would take more info to bump him down.CMC played through one his 1st year with the team.Calf strains did not play out well for Joe Burrow and Juwan Johnson in 2023.
This is likely 1. Precautionary, 2. Convenient way to bubble wrap him for
Preseason, or 3. All of the above.
As does the rookie.Season hasn't started so not super relevant at this point but like clockwork Elijah Mitchell also has a hamstring injury.
I have a couple shares. If he was good I don’t know that they bring in Breida, but I like your optimism!Cody Schrader continues to climb the depth chart!
Yeah, well, that’s just like, his opinon, maaaan.

So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.
I think he probably plays. but it is the sort of injury that can linger. So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.
Week 1 is a month away. He will play. Bet.
I will still take him 1.01I think he probably plays. but it is the sort of injury that can linger. So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.

if it lingers, that may be enough for some not to take him at #1 overall. I wouldnt be surprised if his ADP has shifted already. its likely a 1 and 1a scenario now rather than the clearcut CMC #1 scenario we had up to this point
hey some of us are more risk averse than others. but yeah, I didnt see it as too big a risk. if it starts to look like he misses week 1 then I'd be more concerned.I will still take him 1.01I think he probably plays. but it is the sort of injury that can linger. So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.

He played through it before. It doesn’t sound too bad.
given the timeline its likely a grade 2 strain. but it could be grade 1 and they were maybe just looking for an excuse to sit himJoe Burrow injured his calf at the beginning of TC last year, re-injured in Week 1.
Calf strains take time to heal and CMC is at risk of re-injury. This is his third calf strain since he joined the 49ers; missed a week (2nd Rams game), came back for the playoffs. Previous year the injury was in the playoffs and he played through it.
Not sure we have clarity rn on the severity. If it's a grade 1 strain, should heal in a week and he'll be fine to open the year. Probably just going to have to wait n see if/when he gets back to practice at TC, probably won't play in the PS.
Not too worried either, besides the alternatives are WR currently holding out, and WR on the wrong side of 30 and...?I will still take him 1.01I think he probably plays. but it is the sort of injury that can linger. So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.

And a WR with JJM or Darnold throwing to them. Or Breece with Methuselah as their QB.Not too worried either, besides the alternatives are WR currently holding out, and WR on the wrong side of 30 and...?I will still take him 1.01I think he probably plays. but it is the sort of injury that can linger. So basically he has no idea, and he gave 2 examples where CMC missed a game due to calf strains and was fine after that.

I think this makes a lot more sense than passing him up at 1.1 because of a strain in August. Shanny isn't dumb, he knows how vital CMC is to their team. He's going to rest him and make sure this doesn't linger. This far out, I'm probably still taking him at #1. Even if he needs to miss a week or 2 to start the season, I'd hate myself for passing on him and watching him roll off another 20 TD's.
Depending on what they get for Aiyuk, he may be even more involved in the passing game in 24.
Maybe don't fade your RB3 quite so hard if you're taking him at 1.01.
He doesn't seem to be getting enough mention. We've seen pretty much every other Cmac handcuff over the years do minimal for one reason or another (Eli Mitchell injuries etc.)Cody Schrader continues to climb the depth chart!
I got 1.4 in a big draft in a little over a week and I’m hoping someone takes him top 3. If they don’t I might pass.Calf injuries spook me. Certainly enough to discourage me from taking him 1.01...
I'm not sure how far I'd drop him, but probably enough where someone else sees/feels the value before me.
He isn't making it to 1.04, you'll be alrightI got 1.4 in a big draft in a little over a week and I’m hoping someone takes him top 3. If they don’t I might pass.Calf injuries spook me. Certainly enough to discourage me from taking him 1.01...

I was already worried about his age and most of his massive career high usage last year. This calf injury put me over the top, those concern the heck out of me.
Odds are he won’t but it’s happening in leagues. He isn't making it to 1.04, you'll be alrightI got 1.4 in a big draft in a little over a week and I’m hoping someone takes him top 3. If they don’t I might pass.Calf injuries spook me. Certainly enough to discourage me from taking him 1.01...

lowest I've seen (pre injury) is 1.02 but in my mind the risk of injury likely ate up his cushon at 1.01 and brought him a little closer to the pack. Can you share where you have seen him going as low as 1.04?
Have seen it in FFPC leagues which is where I’m drafting. What leagues have you seen this in?Odds are he won’t but it’s happening in leagues. He isn't making it to 1.04, you'll be alrightI got 1.4 in a big draft in a little over a week and I’m hoping someone takes him top 3. In 377 drafts tracked on fantasycaluclator done between Aug 5th and 7th, his lowest draft position was 1.03.
In FFPC, his ADP this week is still 1.01.
Have done 11 Bestball drafts yesterday and today on Underdog and went #1 in all of them.
Can you share where you have seen him going as low as 1.04?
