RB Christian McCaffrey, SF (4 Viewers)

The question is how much does this push his price down in auction leagues.
That's the good question. He's still going to go #1 almost unanimously, but the only drop from this injury would be some $ in auction.
I seen him go plenty at 2 before the injury in underdog and last night I seen him go 1.03 in an underdog draft I watched.
Seen him go 1.02 in a FFPC $350 that was aired live last night.
I looked up 2 NFFC online championship drafts from last night 1 of them he went pick 2.

Calf injuries spook me. Certainly enough to discourage me from taking him 1.01...

I'm not sure how far I'd drop him, but probably enough where someone else sees/feels the value before me.
I got 1.4 in a big draft in a little over a week and I’m hoping someone takes him top 3. If they don’t I might pass.

I was already worried about his age and most of his massive career high usage last year. This calf injury put me over the top, those concern the heck out of me.

I have the same concerns. At 4 I probably still take him, but I won't feel good about it. Calf injury. Age 28. Appears likely Aiyuk is getting traded. Deebo and Kittle have such a physical style, so what if one gets hurt? I suppose that could mean more targets, but I'm of the mind that with his age he needs quality over quantity. If they are without 2 of their big 4 that quality is going down.

Fell to pick 7 last night in a FFPC $350 draft with $1 Million for 1st place on the line.
Also went at pick 6 in another.
There were 8 drafts last night (6 fast and 2 slow) that went off yesterday

CMC went pick 1 in 6 of then and picks 6 and 7 in the other 2.

Those tournaments are also a lot different than redraft. You really need to swing for the fences and nail your picks to win it all. Seems a little suspect that he goes #1 in 6 of them, and in the other 2 not a single person takes him between 1 and 6.

Yes that was interesting but not sure what you mean by a lot different than redraft considering these are indeed 12 team redraft leagues. Yes there is an overall prize of $1 Million and a large tournament but each single league is 12 teams just like your home league and if you don't finish top 2 in your league in the regular season or you don't win your league championship week 14 then your season is over and you don't get a chance to compete for the $1 million.

CMC:

"Yeah, I feel great. Very cautionary stuff. If we had a game, I would play, but just trying to be smart right now. But still training, still getting a bunch of work in, so that come week one, we're ready to roll."

I wish I was in the "other 2" and had pick 5

The fear is real CMC went 1.05 in RTS last night where 1st place is $500K and I have never seen a site as RB hungry as RTS. He has basically been the 1.01 in almost every draft before the injury on this site.

Draft board below

Right??? Makes no sense that he goes #1 in 6 drafts, and then suddenly 12 people pass on him in the other 2 drafts.

Started a slow FFPC Draft tonight.
Drew 1.3
CMC fell to me.
Bijan went 1.1
Breece went 1.2
...and there I saw Christian

I don't like the sound of this. 😲

RB Christian McCaffrey (calf/Achilles) will be limited in today’s practice.

I don’t love that they added “Achilles” to it, and I’m a little concerned because previously it had been reported that he was practicing in full.

Gah.
As a 49er fan, that would be a ******** Greek tragedy.

No shares of CMC and have Mason in 3 of 4 leagues. Would be a small consolation, but a consolation none the less.

Nick Wagoner:

RB Christian McCaffrey (calf/achilles) on the practice field again Friday. Seems to be moving at full speed with no issue. We’ll hear from him a bit later on.

We're working on this.

My guess is this is more a function of the old "probable" tag not being there.

Stayed tuned though.
When did this happen????

David Lombardi:

Christian McCaffrey and Aaron Banks are both listed as questionable, but remember that there is no probable designation anymore. Seems exceedingly likely that both will play for the 49ers vs the Jets.

For the reason you state, I don't think we can draw definitive conclusions from the mere existence of the questionable tag. I'd want to hear from the Schefters and Glazers and others who have spoken to sources on the team before assuming that he won't play.

He's absolutely playing and is ready to roll according to Shanahan and CMC himself.

This is essentially the same injury he suffered in week 17. Rested week 18 and the bye week, then averaged almost a yard less per carry in the playoffs.

Didn't he re-injure it early on in training camp? Put everything together and it's very concerning. Could be nothing, but where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

That said, it would surprise me if he didn't try to play unless there was a setback.

And a lot fo folks just collectively went :x

-In one league Mason was actually sitting there Thur/Fri, went undrafted with short benches, had to make a real cut but scooped him up before this news came out
Another league I tried to tell the CMC guy that it would be wise to grab Mason shortly after Elijah went on IR, instead he watched another GM grab him and now he's without Week 1

Tough break and unfair for many who took CMC #1 overall, horrible way to start off your FF season, would leave most with a bad taste in their mouth

Considering his position in the FF world, and going off how he talked, and for this to happen game 1 can't think of many bigger kick to the nuts!!!

Maybe those who drafted Le'Veon Bell that year he held out.

Is there anyone that did not draft him #1 overall.
A lot of people actually, especially if they drafted later. FFPC had a ton of drafts on Saturday, two contests, and he was barely behind Lamb but he was behind Lamb.

I had pick 1.1 of a big FFPC ME Saturday night and since I already had got Lamb twice in this same event I had decided for a few weeks I'd be going CMC. I passed. Struggled with it all day, both passing on CMC and who to pass for since I did not want to be so heavy on Lamb, even if he was my top player regardless of CMC's health.

I made up my mind for sure to pass him up a few hours before I drafted. Just had a ton of variables I've learned over the years made it to heavy to make him the top pick, or even a high one when you got the whole league to choose from, more then just the injury. But the totality of an older RB coming of a career high touch season(about 100 more then his second highest), career high games played, and then an injury that I always hear is one that lingers and it's been lingering in one form or another for what seems like about 9 months now was to much for me.

When Jay Glazer said yesterday he pulled himself out of practice Saturday I felt a lot better about passing him.

Not taking a victory lap here, got him on some teams already, but there was to much to be concerned about for me.
