Think that was the same blurb I saw earlier. Haven’t found an explanation on the numbers they are quoting.
Sportrac is showing that the dead money occurs in the same year it would have as if he were still on the team. Edit: wonder if this is a newer CBA thing to help facilitate trading?
I have a theory, that the reason they wouldn't let Anderson in the game, is that they had already agreed to the trade, and didn't want to risk him getting injured. Of course, I don't think teams are supposed to be making trades during games, so that will likely never be brought up or proven one way or another.
My point being, I don't think Anderson got traded because of his sideline altercation on Sunday, I think he had the altercation because he wasn't allowed back in the game, because they didn't want him to risk getting injured. So, CMC likely can't follow that blueprint.

Not sure I see that given they let him go for a bag of chips. Worst case scenario Anderson gets hurt and they don't get those coveted 6th and 7th RD picks.

I thought of this same thing. It didn’t seem like anything was heated on the sideline until after Anderson was running off and even then it could have been more confusion than anger. But bottom line, Frazier didn’t look like he was angry. He stoically stared at the field while he said whatever he said to Anderson.
Curious as to why on this? If he stays in Carolina and they are 2-10 come week 12, what motivation do they have to continue to play him this year if he gets slightly banged up. I am scared to death as a CMC guy if he stays in Carolina.

For the love of all things Holy… please NO! As an owner I rather he stay in the pit that is Carolina than go to KC.
This is my exact thought process. Teams like SF and the Rams are teams were I'd normally just as well see him remain in Carolina except for fact I'm afraid they pull back on his usage or slow play injuries later because it just makes to much sense.
I have read/hard countless reports about how if Carolina were to trade him getting assets back to make sure they can get a top QB in this draft is the main goal and every time I hear that I am left scratching my head. They are currently pick 1.1 with CMC playing some really good football and sure seems to me like just removing him from the team will all but guarantee you got all the asset(s) you need to draft whatever QB you want.
I'd add selfishly for me and people who have him in most FFPC redraft leagues, where I mainly own CMC and a lot of him, there is another potential benefit to seeing him get traded. Other then the durability concerns the other issue with CMC was knowing he'd be out on bye the first week of the league playoffs which is week 13. He's not only have a chance to avoid being on bye that week but if he should end up traded to a team like the Bills or Rams as examples he'd not even have a bye week at all. Might take a week or so acclimation period but that's still a lot better.
Same logic applies to a contender that has a solid hold on the division so they become more conservative with his usage in order to "save" him for the playoffs.
Back to your question from last week I found this interesting that Panthers beat writer for The Athletic never hinted at a reduced role for him last week but earlier today did for this week. Really can't do anything but start him if you got him but I do think

Christian McCaffrey was a full participant in today's practice after getting a rest day Wednesday. With trade rumors swirling, it's worth keeping an eye on McCaffrey's usage this wk vs. Bucs, if he's still on Panthers' roster. Obviously, he was heavily involved vs. Rams.

In redrafts is anyone trying to trade him for another top 5 back and something or just hoping he goes somewhere decent and take a down week or two until he’s up to speed.
My worry if he goes to Buffalo which I don’t think he does is that he’s not getting a ton of touches and being used less than he is now and saved for playoffs.

I was offered him plus Evans for Cook and Lamb. Didn't auto-accept because I still like Lamb and don't care for how the Bucs are looking at all
I don't get this idea that if a team trades for CMC, his workload is suddenly going to get drastically reduced. He's the best RB in the NFL and has zero weaknesses in his game. He'd see 20+ touches on any team that has been discussed for him. He demands touches, not with his mouth, but by his play. SF, LA, KC, Buffalo, Miami. Any of those teams, he's 20 touches a week. Doesn't matter who else they have, they get the Chuba Hubbard treatment.
Its hard to see CMC's value going down if he left Carolina. No good reason his workload would go down, as every team runs more than Carolina anyway, and his TD opportunity goes up, possibly drastically if its Buffalo or KC.

I agree with everything you said. There might be a 1-2 week acclimation period where he takes a slight step back but that's the only negative I see and even that might not happen plus as I mentioned earlier he has a chance to completely avoid a bye week which would more then make up for it if he needs a week or two.
