Literally no possible way unless you are in one of those leagues with playoffs in week 18.Is everyone dropping? No possible way he's back before end of fantasy playoffs right?
The vibe is he's out 6 weeks - even if it's 4, that's indeed week 18 at the earliest for a return. The dream is over.Literally no possible way unless you are in one of those leagues with playoffs in week 18.Is everyone dropping? No possible way he's back before end of fantasy playoffs right?
Lot of holes to fill, so hopefully they wait until the 5th to go RB shopping
Best shape of his life and all that.
Because they might go to the Superbowl if they stay healthy - granted, a big if.I don't know why the 49ers don't go full rebuild and trade this guy.

Besides Deebo, what is different about the 49ers core now vs their Super Bowl season in 2023?Because they might go to the Superbowl if they stay healthy - granted, a big if.I don't know why the 49ers don't go full rebuild and trade this guy.
What about any of the moves the 49ers made in the offseason suggest: (1) they're even trying to win a Super Bowl in 2025; or (2) they still have the talent to win a Super Bowl in 2025?

Looks like they're planning on replacing Greenlaw with Winters (3rd yr), Ward with Renardo Green (2nd yr), and Banks with Puni (2nd yr). Based on the contract amounts, it appears they've replaced Floyd with Gross-Matos. I'll give you the DT's though. Do you think they might be waiting until after Monday to sign anyone because they're trying to maximize 2026 comp picks? I didn't pay close attention, but seemed they lost more than they gained in March as you outlined. This offseason they lost:
1. Dre Greenlaw who was considered a heart and soul player on their defense in their SB year.
2. Charvarious Ward who was their starting CB
3. Maliek Collins who was their starting DT in 2024 and Javon Hargrave go who was their starting DT in their SB year.
4. Leonard Floyd who was their starting DE.
5. Aaron Bank who started at G for them in 2023 and 2024.
They replaced those guys with:
1. ???
Now you can argue that this guy wasn't good or that guy wasn't good, but they didn't replace those guys with anyone better.
Greenlaw was the big loss, but while an excellent player, he missed almost half his games in his NFL career. Ward will be missed too but after the death of his young daughter, he said he needed a change of scenery. Green is really good as is Lenoir but they need another CB badly.Looks like they're planning on replacing Greenlaw with Winters (3rd yr), Ward with Renardo Green (2nd yr), and Banks with Puni (2nd yr). Same. Hope he is all good but has been hurt 3 of the last 5 years. Hate to predict injuries but hard to ignore.Saw some updates about CMC participating fully in the offseason, no limitations, etc.
I’m taking it all with a huge grain of salt until I see him play.
It’s all sunshine and butterflies to the media. Last year I bought into it, and it was a complete disaster.
On the flip side, he has bounced back REALLY well from injuries before. Could see him being a value, as his upside is still #1 overall if things break right, but I doubt anyone takes him that highly.Same. Hope he is all good but has been hurt 3 of the last 5 years. They ended up outbidding the Broncos late in the process. So while I agree he's a major injury risk, that particular transaction was the result of the Niners misreading the market rather than deliberating cutting ties with the player.Yeah, I agree.Greenlaw was the big loss, but while an excellent player, he missed almost half his games in his NFL career. Also, i have to believe that they didn’t see him making a full comeback, or they felt like with so many draft picks they didn’t want to risk paying him coming off that specific injury.
Agree, he could be an amazing value towards the end of the first round. Personally I just couldn’t take him over any of the top 10ish players. On the flip side, he has bounced back REALLY well from injuries before. That was before it was something chronic. Bilateral Achilles tendinitis is unlikely to just go away, from what I’ve read. It’s not impossible, but typically to eliminate the condition one must stop doing the things that exacerbate it.On the flip side, he has bounced back REALLY well from injuries before. *both calves.I also don't like the location of the injury, the calf area is . . . not good.

Are there any teams that had strong roster talent and did not lose any good players?
Ward easily had the worst season of his career in 2024, and the 49ers chose not to overpay him. That seems like a good decision.
Collins, Floyd, and Banks were all okay but replaceable.
I agree they may have some difficulty replacing Greenlaw and Ward with equal talent, assuming full return to previous level of play for both of them. Adding Mykel Williams last night is a strong positive for the defense.
They get Aiyuk, McCaffrey, and Trent Williams back. If those players are healthy, the offense should be much improved.
Will their talent be good enough to go to the Super Bowl? Sitting here today, without knowing how injuries will play out for the 49ers and other contenders, I think the answer is yes. I'm not predicting it will happen, just saying I don't think lack of talent is the issue you are making it out to be.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that Christian McCaffrey is as “healthy as can be” and that the team must “protect him from himself.”
McCaffrey is evidently ready to hit the ground running, but Shanahan and the 49ers know they must manage the soon-to-be 29-year-old’s repetitions responsibly. McCaffrey’s 2024 season was derailed by bilateral Achilles tendinitis and a season-ending PCL sprain. Slightly increasing second-year RB Isaac Guerendo’s workload could be helpful in this regard.
He recently went for a 2026 1st & 2025 2.14 in my 16-team league. What’s his true dynasty trade value? A guy put him and some other players on the block in one of my DEVY leagues, so I offered Cedric Baxter and Evan Stewart for CMC and Jordan James and was rejected. I think CMC value is hard to gauge. Being honest I was somewhat relieved he rejected, because trading for CMC kind of scares me.
I heard that before last year, too. Niners said he was good. CMC said he’d be starting game 1.Everything I've heard/read says CMC looks like 2023 CMC at OTAs.
Every rep you takeWell this isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement of perfect health

Man, if I had shares I’d be trying hard to move them or holding my breath with every rep he takes.
In a 12 team SF I was a little light at RB. I have Guerendo. Made a small trade for 5.02 and grabbed James.Isaac Guerendo
Statwise, was better than CMC last year
- Higher yards per carry
- Higher yards per reception
- Higher catch percentage
- 4 TD's to 0
But one stat jumped out - Isaac had 3 fumbles in only 99 touches. Can't keep that up and remain on the field.

Feels good. Feels like a couple lottery tickets that could hit.
Yeah, but he wasn't practicing last offseason either. He is now and reportedly looks good.I heard that before last year, too. Niners said he was good. CMC said he’d be starting game 1.Everything I've heard/read says CMC looks like 2023 CMC at OTAs.
It was all great news right up until pregame lineup announcements.

Having his backup isn’t the same as having a healthy CMC. It’s not as if that backup sniffs a top end RB finish.People are scared of CMC, and for good reason. In the 7 years since a 50/50 touch split with Jonathan Stewart his rookie season, here are his fantasy finishes: 1, 1, 1, 2, 39, 54, 69
He's either going to finish as a top 2 RB in 2025, or not finish at all. I'm guessing a 40% chance of finishing the season. If I do draft CMC, I am making sure I draft his backup at all costs.
