Context of opinions can be so broad on these boards. I think it's WAY easier to select CMC with top round picks if you are playing in umpteen leagues and you know your overall fantasy football exposure will be diversified enough to weather him flatlining again at some point this season. For those of us who play in just one or two leagues, or something close, it's a different equation and feeling. Neither is inherently wrong, IMO, but that context does matter bigtime and is IMO being overlooked as peeps debate the merits of risking your team on taking him this year.
Hmmm, I wouldn't think the number of leagues I am in would have any bearing on whether I draft a guy or not. I typically have very similar teams (I am in 6 leagues all with slightly different formats) but my teams are typically similar if I am in a similar draft slot. I like the players I like and draft players I think are going to do well this year. For those of us who play in just one or two leagues, or something close, it's a different equation and feeling. Solid point. Last year in my 16-team SF IDP I was the highest scoring team by over 100.Plus, while I don't think FF is pure "luck", I have had a lot of superior teams lose in the finals over the last 20 or so years. The best teams don't always win
I definitely like to spread the wealth when i am in multiple redrafts like I did this yearHmmm, I wouldn't think the number of leagues I am in would have any bearing on whether I draft a guy or not. I have never really thought about a draft in relation to my other drafts. I either like a guy or not. Thinking a bit about it after your comment I think I would actually be the opposite of your approach. Meaning if I was in less leagues I would want the difference maker guy where possible. Kind of an all or nothing where if I was trying to diversify because of being in 20 leagues I would less likely have much exposure to an injury risk guy if my goal was to diversify.
Interesting thought experiment.
I get the reason to diversify for sure. I just normally don't think about it. I put in the time and effort in my tiering and believe in the guys i believe in. I have taken different guys in the same tier sometimes but that is mostly when I really can't decide which one I like better but by and large I always have a guy I like better even if I have them in the same tier.I definitely like to spread the wealth when i am in multiple redrafts like I did this year
If you are pulling from tiers and some guys are all about the same, why not take a different one after you take the same one 2-3 times?
I understand your POV in this, if you pick the right guys you can win all 6 leagues with the same draft picks but I find that usually you get a couple injuries and it ends torpedoing your season
if I have a coin toss, I take the guy with the most primetime games....just so I can enjoy them more often having a cold beverageI get the reason to diversify for sure. back in the olden days, when I only got to watch a max of 6 games on TV each week, I let the broadcast schedule be the tie breaker on start/sit decisions so I had a chance to watch my players more.if I have a coin toss, I take the guy with the most primetime games....just so I can enjoy them more often having a cold beverageI get the reason to diversify for sure. but then in 2004 I got NFL ticket and I decided to get serious about playing this game so that tie breaker was left behind.

That really doesn’t cover the issue of having one pair of eyes. Unless you’re Glenn Danzig and The Misfits, we’re all bound by limitations.
Nvm. I’m going Barkley. My internal struggle has been typed out aloud here.I have the second pick in a 12 team .5ppr/.5pp first down. I (recently) fully convinced myself to go McCaffrey at 2. In chasing the high of the chip I won with him two seasons ago. And I see the 49ers have a higher projected point total and easier schedule than the eagles. So i give the tiebreaker to him over Barkley.I plugged him in for a 55% rush share and 77 targets which seemed modest and he was over a point per game better than Chase who I had as the #2 overall player.
My quick opinion on the medical stuff is that it seems a few feet over my head. Ray Lewis beat my beloved Patriots with torn triceps and deer antler spray. What do I know?
I just feel like if I have the chance to get the overall RB1 with him, I want to take it.

I agree, but where will he sneak up to? I still couldn't take him over Gibbs/Bijan/Barkley/Chase but would be interested in him over just about anyone else. For what it’s worth Stephania Bell is high on CMC post injury. Been at every practice. No setbacks. Looks great. I think he’ll be sneaking up draft boards slot by slot the next 2 weeks
I hear you. But in my format, and most other commonly used formats, he outscored all of them by a lot during his last season where his health wasn’t a factor. I get that it’s two seasons ago.I agree, but where will he sneak up to? He's been going around 7, but in my Home League draft next week I expect him to go #2
I don't think Robinson affects CMC at all. There's a reason he went for a 6th round pick. I think he's fighting with Guerendo for the backup job. I'd probably bet on Robinson there.Trade: Commanders are trading RB Brian Robinson to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, sources tell ESPN.
My draft is tonight and I was set on picking cmc at 2. Damn.

It doesn’t. It’s a low cost move for SF to improve their RB room. Right now the depth chart is CMC, an oft-injured Guerendo, and a washed Jeff Wilson.Sorry, how do the 9ers trading away a 6th for some backup depth for a mediocre RB mean that CMC is washed and this is a bomb?
It doesn't. The 49ers had to put two RBs on IR this week (Patrick Taylor and UDFA Corey Kiner), and 5th round rookie Jordan James has a broken finger.Sorry, how do the 9ers trading away a 6th for some backup depth for a mediocre RB mean that CMC is washed and this is a bomb?
I think the real question now is who emerges as the handcuff to CMC? Is it still Guerendo when healthy? A lot of CMC owners that already drafted have Guerendo on their bench but not Robinson. It doesn't. Current healthy RBs
CMC
Isaac Guerendo
Ke'Shawn Vaughn
Jeff Wilson Jr
Injuries have forced this move, nothing else.
I was planning on targeting Guerendo at RB4 in drafts this weekend, even if I didn'tland CMC.
